Rick, another REALLY helpful video! I've watched a bunch of yours now and while they've cost me some money (updates I didn't know I "needed" - like the CVO gauges :) ) they've also saved me a ton (heated grips install) helping me through doing something myself I'd otherwise likely have paid the dealer for - so in the end, I'm ahead!! I'm going on 4 weeks of ownership of a 2023 RG Special and on delivery the dealer did tell me about the PIN and told me to reset immediately, they said, and I've confirmed that mine shipped with "11111" as a default code and not the last 5 of the VIN. I've subscribed and refer to your videos often, appreciate the step by step and especially the tools needed (socket, torx size, etc!!) Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate your very kind and support words. My channel is all about helping others to either save some money or give the confidence to do it yourself with the help of the video. Thank you for subscribing to and supporting the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
I’ve owned 10+ motorcycles and bought my first HD (2022 street glide special) a few days ago. The dealer was great at selling me the bike, but nobody mentioned the PIN being needed to start without the key fob. Your videos have be great and I appreciate your knowledge. Thank!
Thank you Milton for the kind words and support. I try to share knowledge with the community through my videos. I'm glad you find them helpful and I'll keep putting out content that is focused accordingly. Ride safe and always feel free to share the content with your friends whom you think may enjoy the videos. Ride safe. 👊👍

great video! when I bought my 2016 SG two years ago, the dealership didn’t tell me the pin, however there was a brand new fob in the saddle bag, it wasn’t programmed, after calling my salesman about the fob, he told me bring it in and they’d program it, only then did I know what the pin was because they asked me what I wanted it to be, because it needed to be changed when the new fob was programmed. I can’t believe they don’t tell you the pin before sending you on your way
Thanks for watching and commenting. So many do not know their PIN and don't reset then to their own PIN. I appreciate your support. If you haven't subscribed yet, I'd appreciate you considering doing so. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍
I just had the same issue and lost my key fob.. bad that I bought it 3 years ago and Harley don’t wanna help. Just want me to bring it in and spend four hundred
Thanks for watching and commenting. Ignore the * and for the 0 replace that with a 1. Otherwise use the process noted in the video to get the PIN while the FOB is present. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
That's awesome. Glad it helped out. If you are a subscriber thank you. If not, I'd be honored if you'd consider subscribing to thr channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
THANK YOU!!! I brought my 2017 SGS new back in 2017 it is now 2024 I was never told about a PIN # Smh. my fob went dead and thanks to my other fob I was able to finally change it. I knew it had a code but never needed it. I tried what you said and sure enough it was the last five of the VIN. I changed it and feeling good Thanks

Good topic. Shared by a HOG Chapter member. I had mine changed the day I bought it. Having a previous bike with a code I knew. Yes, I read the Owners Manual. I subscribed. Thanks.
Hi Rick I just came across your videos last night and all I have to say is I’m now I’m a subscriber I found this video very silly on Harley’s behalf but thank you again for your honesty
Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing. I appreciate your support to the channel. Ride safe and I look forward to seeing your comments on other videos. 👊👍
I just purchased a 2019 Trike, and the previous owner had changed the pin, and the dealer didn’t know what it was. Instead of going through your exercise, the dealer said that they had to reach out to the previous owner to find out what the number was. After watching your video I found out what the pin was, and changed it to something I could remember, just in case. So, thanks for sharing. Bill
You are welcome Bill. I'm glad the information helped you out. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support to the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. The generic PINs are problematic for sure. Its like your computer password being set to password...may as well not have one. I appreciate your support. You are exactly right, My pin was set to the last 5 of my VIN, Not anymore I set it to, .... Yeah I'm not telling you either. I also set the door codes on my fords, when I bought them. You might add that when you're done to exit the pin enter mode toggle the egine cutoff
I had no idea I needed a pin until my battery went bad. Found this video to explain about a pin. Thankfully I was walking distance to a battery store. So I got lucky.

My pin was in my manual as was a blue tooth code for any reflash I wanted to do. I LOVE the settings for my Vance&Hines pipes and high flow air box. I'll never change them.

Hey I know my pin I changed my handlebars now it's just a test to be entering my pin every time I started my like my key phone is not working or it's not reading it so 9:50 I've been starting it with just entering the pin how do I fix that or how do I reset my fog or what I need to do
Thanks for watching and commenting. Have you changed the battery in the FOB? If the battery is low the bike will asked for the PIN as the bike is not picking up a signal from the FOB. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

Thank you Theo for watching and commenting. It really is amazing that you are generally not told this info. However I will say when I bought my 2023 Street Glide ST a month ago, the great people at Gateway Harley Davidson did mention that the PIN was set to the last 5 of the VIN. So changed it immediately. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍✌️👊
Every dealer should absolutely make buyers aware of this, ofcourse if a thief wants your bike, they're gonna get it in many cases. I went through the MMI Harley Program and they actually stole bikes out of the motorcycle school parking lot, if I remember right they were sport bikes, but to the owners, it hurt no less then if they stole a new full dresser. They actually had em on video, grabbing the bikes and lifting em into the back of a modified van, 2 or 3 bikes at a time...note: bought a '14 street glide with only 10k mileage, and the code happen to be 11111, I'd say the previous owner had changed it, great content friend, earned a sub here.
Thanks for watching and providing some context as well. I very much appreciate your support. Thank you for subscribing to the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍

My 2022 TriGlide had a dealership default PIN number that they use for all their new stock, however the sales guy I dealt with explained the PIN to me and I changed it as soon as I had the Trike home, PS, best damn thing I ever bought, this thing is an absolute blast
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad your dealership explained it to you. If you are a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

@@HDVIBE thanks was kidding, just had 2016 HD Custom 1200 Sportster yesterday, only comes with 1 fob,am going to try this. As we speak tarped at bottom of very steep driveway, waiting for gravel to come up out of ice and snow
That’s what I was told the last 5 numbers of the vin number. If you lock the on off switch they can’t steal your bike can’t turn it on, very good info. I tried my vin number and it has a 0 in it can’t start it. Going to the dealership let them show me
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have a functioning FOB, you can follow the procedure as shown in the video and the PIN that is set will pop up on the screen. May save you a trip to the dealer. Then you can also change it following the process outlined in the video. Ride safe and all the best in 2023. 👊✌️👍
They are set from the factory with the same pin number. Dealers change them to the last 5 digits of the vin. It's a shame that a lot of folks either don't know there is a pin number or never inquired about it when purchased. That's one of the steps Dealers should be going over with their customers.
unfortunately most people in sales know little to nothing about the product they are selling, with the exception of motorcycles and Printing. I agree 100% the Sales Dept. needs to go threw this with customers, especially when spending that much money
You bet. Thank you for watching commenting and subscribing to the channel. I appreciate your support. Enjoy your new bike when you take delivery. Ride safe. 👊👍
I have a 21 street bob. I tried to change my code, but I don't have an ignition switch to turn on. I can't find any video on how change it on a bike like mine.
Thanks Kenneth for watching and sharing your input. That is another generic code that is sometimes used. Glad you changed it to one only you know. If you are already a subscriber thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't think anyone will share that information. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Thank you John for watching, commenting and subscribing. I'm glad the video helped you out with changing the PIN to one that only you know. I look forward to seeing your comments on other and future videos. Thanks for the support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
I know mine, because I changed it. Funny story; in 2019 during our trip down to Tasmania in Australia, I left my spare fob at home, and on the first day of our thirteen day trip I lost the fob. I had to key the pin each and every time I had to start the bike! 😂😂 Oh, on the second day I was proposing to Rochelle, needless to say it changed my mood a little! 😯😂
You are welcome James. Thank you for watching and commenting. If you are already a subscriber thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

I've known about this for several years and I usually explain it to my friends whenever they buy a bike, new or used. I've done it on over 20 different bikes and so far every bike, except 1, has had either 11111, or 12345 as the security code. The 1 bike that had a different code was a used bike that a friend purchased from a dealership and I just figured it was the custom code put in by the previous owner but it might have been the last 5 of the VIN.
Thanks for watching and commenting with your experience with the topic. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
My neighbor had a towing business and he ended up with a 2015 Road glide and no key fob and no pin. Unfortunately the brother was killed when he missed a turn and the bike landed on top of him. The bike has minor damage since it landed in a bog. One broken turn signal light and a minor bend on the left crash bar is all I can see. Otherwise the scooter is pristine. My bro doesnt do computers so I get to figure it out. I'm gonna try this and I will bet it works. Thanks bro.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope it works for you. If not, you should be able to get a FOB set up at a dealership. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
On my 2020 Road Glide the pin was all ones, I changed it of course because that was the Dealer Default code they put in during PDI. I tried to put in the last five of the VIN but it would not take it because it had a zero in it. I tried it twice but maybe I did something wrong. Very simple and very important to do! Just dont forget the code!
Thanks for watching and sharing. Yes if they changed the PIN during the PDI to all 1s, the the last 5 of VIN is no longer active. Often if the last 5 of the VIN has a zero, it is replaced with a 1 when the PIN is set. Always best to set it to YOUR PIN so only you know it. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Great video. That topic is so marginal but when the key fob battery is dead, gets super urgent. 👍 One little thing I like to add: I carry a spare battery in my tools set all the time. Tool set stays on the bike permanently. Every 6 months I swap the battery out in the fob with the one from the tools and put a new one there. I didn't come up with this myself lol #harleydayrider shared it in one of his videos. Or it was #bodean52 ... One of them smart boys 😉😂 Ride safe 🤙
Thanks Tony for watching and commenting. I agree with your comment completely. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately the thiefs already know this info but most owners don't. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

Thanks for watching and commenting with your experience. Yes they substitute a 1 for zeros. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so much. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks Frank for watching and commenting. I appreciate the very kind words. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
I will say the sequence needs to be very quick to learn the PIN number. Also it maybe that the Street Bob sequence maybe different but I don't think it is. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊👍
Also in reading your comment. The turn signal sequence is right right left...not right left right as you stated in your comment. Try right right left doing it very quickly. That may get you to PIN.
Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for watching. Glad you know it. Perhaps the dealership changed it prior to your purchase. I have heard from some other viewers that this could be the case. If you have already subscribed, thanks so much. If you haven't yet, I would be honored if you would consider doing do. Thanks again for watching and ride safe.
Thanks for watching and commenting. What specifically is your question related to? There are several things covered in the video so please clarify so I can attempt to answer your question. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍👊✌️
Now that is unfortunate. I would try the process I did in the video and see if the PIN pops up on the odometer. Of course to do so you must have the FOB near by. Give it a try and see what happens. You have nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time. ✌️👊👍
That is a great point Greg. However, a thief can pop the ignition off and then get it to turn to the run position. Having the PIN set to your own will hopefully help slow them down. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊👍✌️
You basically use the engine start switch without the ignition. I also have a 2021 CVO and it works. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
My area the dealers set the pin# to dealer code. Example all new bikes from my local dealer are 21212 (not the real code), the other 6 dealers in the area each use a different code. But your right my cousins bike was set to the last five of his vin.
Thanks for watching and for the input on the topic. Good to get the word out to others. The most important action is to change the code to something only the owner of the bike knows. If you have already subscribed to the channel thank you. If not I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
Have a Sportster S 2022 from preview owner and don’t know the PIN numbe and it keeps asking the pin with the fob on my hands! I will try changing the fob batteries! Hope that works! Let me know if you have any other ideas
Thanks for watching and commenting. My guess is the FOB battery is weak or dead. Just make sure when you replace the battery you put it in the FOB in the correct orientation. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Thanks for watching and commenting. The process should be the same if you have the FOB. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Thanks for the question Dean. Many of the 2014 and newer bikes are set to the last 5 of the VIN. I have also seen the 31313 being preset as well. The best thing to do is set it to the PIN that only you know. ✌️👊👍
when i turn on my iginition the bike goes straight to "enter pin" mode.key fob close by -new battery in fob bike does not turn on like in video.i entered last 5 of my vin and then alarm goes off help? cant start bike
Seems like something is not operating correctly. My guess is your PIN has been changed to something else if the alarm is going off. My suggestion is to call your dealer and see if they can point you in the right direction. My guess is the bike is not recognizing the FOB.
Mine is used and the number is different. I'm not sure what I'm missing,, don't you just need to know how to change the pin. Or does the fob need to be present to make the changes in the pin number ?
my battery of harley sportster went dead, i tried to jump it but my alarm started when i try to remove battery, now it's asking for a pin number which i never had a pin number what can i do to start my engine,i have my key fobs but i don't know my pin number
Thanks for watching and commenting. That is an interesting situation that I've not encountered. I would suggest putting a new battery in the bike and then clear any codes. Typically the bikes will throw DTC codes when you pull the old battery and put in a new one. Or putting in the new battery may clear it all up. The other thing to check is the battery in your FOB. Replace those and you may be back in business. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for sharing your experience. Often the zero is replaced with a 1. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
Awesome. Perhaps the dealer changed it prior to you taking delivery. Thanks for participating in the pole. I appreciate your support. Ride safe and enjoy your awesome bike. Which color did you go with on your CVO?
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, you can only change the PIN if you have the FOB in range of the bike. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. If it has the key fob security system the process should be the same. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Thanks so much. It's something a lot of people don't think about until they need it. I consider this my PSA video. I appreciate your continued support to the channel. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍🇺🇸
Great video!...I didn't know about the PIN# being the last 5 digits of the VIN#!....I changed the PIN# as soon as I got the bike home. But I would be willing to bet that you are right about it being the last 5 VIN digits!!😉👍...thanks for sharing...stay safe...ride safe!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Thanks so much for watching. It's always better to change it to something that only you know. I appreciate your continued support. Rude safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍
Thanks for watching. Make sure you change the PIN as soon as possible following the steps outlined in the video to keep your bike safe. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍👊✌️
Thanks for watching. The sequence will work to display the PIN for sure on 2014 to present but I'm pretty sure it's the same on pre 2014 models. You must execute the sequence quickly as I have even had challenges with it due to doing the sequence too slow. Rode safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
I show how to change the PIN in the video as well. I demonstrated changing mine in the video as well. You must have the FOB close by to get the PIN to appear and to change it.
@@HDVIBE I ended up guessing the pin by pure luck but can’t figure out how to set a new pin. I think it’s the fob antenna is why it wouldn’t start since I replaced the fob battery and that didn’t work.
Got it. You can only change the PIN if you have a functioning FOB. Once you figure the FOB situation out, then you can follow the procedure outlined in the video to change the PIN to something else. 👊✌️👍
That is a great question. I'm not aware of a Harley security system that doesn't have a Fob. I believe the FOB has been used on factory security systems since 2007. You could give it try and see if a PIN code pops up. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Congrats on the new bike brother Milton, hope you're having a safe enjoyable experience my friend. Bet you're ready for spring...👍

Thanks for the info
I was frustrated. I saw like 7 videos to reset my PIN and this guy had to say it most likely is the VIN #. That’s it! Thank you ❤ we did it! 🎉

Will it start without the key in it too? Concerned Harley owner here just now learning about this feature. Thanks
great video! when I bought my 2016 SG two years ago, the dealership didn’t tell me the pin, however there was a brand new fob in the saddle bag, it wasn’t programmed, after calling my salesman about the fob, he told me bring it in and they’d program it, only then did I know what the pin was because they asked me what I wanted it to be, because it needed to be changed when the new fob was programmed.
Thanks for watching. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
My 2014 bike Vin Number has a 0. Also, it has a * on my Vin Number. What can I do to start it⁉️ I need help⁉️

Thanks.
Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate your thoughtful comment and support. Rude safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍🇺🇸
Great video. Found that my PIN was set to the one in the owners manual example , 31313. I immediately changed it. Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. The generic PINs are problematic for sure. Its like your computer password being set to password...may as well not have one. I appreciate your support. If you are already a subscriber thank you very much. If you are not, I'd be honored if you'd consider subscribing. Ride safe and enjoy your ride. 👊👍🇺🇸

You are exactly right, My pin was set to the last 5 of my VIN, Not anymore I set it to, .... Yeah I'm not telling you either. I also set the door codes on my fords, when I bought them. You might add that when you're done to exit the pin enter mode toggle the egine cutoff
Thanks for participating in the poll. Hope all is well.👊👍🇺🇸
I had no idea I needed a pin until my battery went bad.

Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I look forward to seeing your comments on other and future videos. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍👊✌️
Bought my 06 Road King new. Never had a use for the pin code so I had to look it up. Was in the original paperwork and was not in the Vin number.
Thanks for watching and commenting with your experience. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Hey I know my pin I changed my handlebars now it's just a test to be entering my pin every time I started my like my key phone is not working or it's not reading it so
9:50 I've been starting it with just entering the pin how do I fix that or how do I reset my fog or what I need to do
Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊✌️👍

From Germany, this is the same here! Incredible that the store that sold me the bike never told me this.
Like the videos Rick, passed your channel on to some HD riders here at work.

I appreciate the humor and the support to the channel. 👊👍✌️
Yes. Thanks for watching Nore. I appreciate the support. Ride safe. 👍👊🇺🇸
When I read the owners manual, it says right there that the factory applied PIN is in fact the last five of the VIN.
@rogermurph101 Thanks Roger for sharing that information. I appreciate the input on the topic
Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
unfortunately most people in sales know little to nothing about the product they are selling, with the exception of motorcycles and Printing. I agree 100% the Sales Dept. needs to go threw this with customers, especially when spending that much money
@greenmarine5 👍
Thank you so much!
I’ve subscribed.
Waiting for my 2022 Street Bob to arrive, then I’ll definitely be changing my PIN

Try this one.
Thanks for your video. When I checked my PIN Code it was set to 11111, I changed it straight away.

I know mine, because I changed it.
Funny story; in 2019 during our trip down to Tasmania in Australia, I left my spare fob at home, and on the first day of our thirteen day trip I lost the fob.
I had to key the pin each and every time I had to start the bike! 😂😂
Oh, on the second day I was proposing to Rochelle, needless to say it changed my mood a little! 😯😂
Now that's a story. Thanks for watching and commenting Roger. I appreciate your support. Ride safe. 👊👍

It worked!!! 2018 road glide special. However why did it require the PIN number? My bike sat for a month and then I couldn’t start. I had the key fob
Perhaps your key FOB battery is low and needs to be replaced. But I'm glad this helped you going. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊👍
Needed info for sure! I had mine changed day 0. Lol another good vid.
Thanks for watching and commenting brother. Ride safe. 👊👍
One little thing I like to add: I carry a spare battery in my tools set all the time. Tool set stays on the bike permanently.
Every 6 months I swap the battery out in the fob with the one from the tools and put a new one there.
I didn't come up with this myself lol #harleydayrider shared it in one of his videos. Or it was #bodean52 ... One of them smart boys 😉😂
Ride safe 🤙
That's a great suggestion. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊👍
I agree. My dealer resets password with client on every bike new or used out the door as last purchase process procedure. All dealers should.
Thanks Tony for watching and commenting. I agree with your comment completely. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Well, now every thief knows how to steal an HD 🤦
But thank you. As I was also lost on how or where to find my pin lol

You are right, its only that in my vin instead the zeros there is a 1 ,i think because there are no zeros in the pin
Thanks for watching and commenting with your experience. Yes they substitute a 1 for zeros. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so much. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Mine was the last 5 of the vin. I bought it used from a dealership but it had never been charged. I changed it before I left the dealership.
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍

Very good demonstration. Thanks
Thank you for the kind comment. Much appreciated. Ride safe. 👊👍
I have an 07 streetbob.. the on off on off on right left right isn't pulling up the pin, and it's not the last 5 of Vin.
Now I messed up...turn signal sequence is left left right quickly. Sorry for the mistype on that. Hope that helps.
great information thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
2015 street glide special. My pin was not the last 5 of my VIN number.
Just to let you know Harley Davison corporate office says this can't be done I think it's crazy do you know if this will work on it 2009 fat Bob CVO
To see my pin on my Harley Harley says it can't be done only with the scan tool and my snap on various doesn't have the option
Now that is unfortunate. I would try the process I did in the video and see if the PIN pops up on the odometer. Of course to do so you must have the FOB near by. Give it a try and see what happens. You have nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time. ✌️👊👍
Great info. If the ignition is locked, wouldn't that stop someone from trying to enter a pin?
That is a great point Greg. However, a thief can pop the ignition off and then get it to turn to the run position. Having the PIN set to your own will hopefully help slow them down. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊👍✌️
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
You bet. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support. Ride safe.👊👍
My 2016 Fatboy was purchased new and it was not the last 5 of the VIN.
Thanks for the information. I appreciate the input. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍👊✌️
I HAVE A CVO STREET GLIDE. I HAVE NO IGNITION SWITCH. GONNA TRY YUR METHOD ANYWAY THX
You basically use the engine start switch without the ignition. I also have a 2021 CVO and it works. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Great video and info. Mine was changed right away for this very reason 🤙💯
Thanks for watching and commenting brother. I appreciate your continued support. Ride safe. 👊👍🇺🇸
@@HDVIBE you got it 🤙likewise 💯
👍
My area the dealers set the pin# to dealer code. Example all new bikes from my local dealer are 21212 (not the real code), the other 6 dealers in the area each use a different code. But your right my cousins bike was set to the last five of his vin.
Thanks for watching and for the input on the topic. Good to get the word out to others. The most important action is to change the code to something only the owner of the bike knows. If you have already subscribed to the channel thank you. If not I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
Yup this is what happen when people don’t read their owners manuals. Great video as always! Ride on my friend.

Does this process to find PIN code work on a 2008 Road King Classic?
Thanks for watching and commenting. The process should be the same if you have the FOB. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Are the newer bikes set by last 5 digits of the vin #. I have a 2008 Heritage Classic and I was told that the factory code was 31313
Thanks for the question Dean. Many of the 2014 and newer bikes are set to the last 5 of the VIN. I have also seen the 31313 being preset as well. The best thing to do is set it to the PIN that only you know. ✌️👊👍
@@HDVIBE I totally agree with you there, at least make it harder to get your bike stolen. Peace ✌ brother.

My dealership changed mine. Great video 🤘🏽
Thanks Maria. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Ride safe. 👍👊
when i turn on my iginition the bike goes straight to "enter pin" mode.key fob close by -new battery in fob bike does not turn on like in video.i entered last 5 of my vin and then alarm goes off help? cant start bike
The FOB does need to be present to get the PIN and to change it. 👍👊
my battery of harley sportster went dead, i tried to jump it but my alarm started when i try to remove battery, now it's asking for a pin number which i never had a pin number what can i do to start my engine,i have my key fobs but i don't know my pin number
Didn’t work on my 2014 street glide special.. My last 5 digits had Zero’s in it and only reads 1-9 on scoot
Thanks for sharing your experience. Often the zero is replaced with a 1. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
I just checked the last 5 of my vin vs my PIN number and they are not the same. 2022 road glide cvo
Awesome. Perhaps the dealer changed it prior to you taking delivery. Thanks for participating in the pole. I appreciate your support. Ride safe and enjoy your awesome bike. Which color did you go with on your CVO?
So, we can only change the pin if we have the key fob??
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, you can only change the PIN if you have the FOB in range of the bike. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. Does this work for an 06 Road Glide?
Thanks for watching and commenting. If it has the key fob security system the process should be the same. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I did reset it. Thanks for sharing

This just happened to me while on a ride. Luckily, I had a spare fob battery but I knew the pin if I didn’t. Good vid.
OMG, your right. Last four digits of my bin. Keep up the amazing words
Thanks for watching. Make sure you change the PIN as soon as possible following the steps outlined in the video to keep your bike safe. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍👊✌️
I tried on my SG 2019, it does not display PIN and also the original pin was not last 5 digits of VIN
Thanks for watching. The sequence will work to display the PIN for sure on 2014 to present but I'm pretty sure it's the same on pre 2014 models. You must execute the sequence quickly as I have even had challenges with it due to doing the sequence too slow. Rode safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
@@HDVIBE will retry. Would you know how to change the factory pin ?
I show how to change the PIN in the video as well. I demonstrated changing mine in the video as well. You must have the FOB close by to get the PIN to appear and to change it.
My 2015 won’t do that because I don’t have an ignition it is only used for locking & unlocking the forks. Can someone help please?
So have you have it programed by a dealership so that you do not have ignition switch only lock and unlock forks like a CVO?
@@HDVIBE I ended up guessing the pin by pure luck but can’t figure out how to set a new pin. I think it’s the fob antenna is why it wouldn’t start since I replaced the fob battery and that didn’t work.
Got it. You can only change the PIN if you have a functioning FOB. Once you figure the FOB situation out, then you can follow the procedure outlined in the video to change the PIN to something else. 👊✌️👍
Hmm. I'll have to check when we get home. I haven't changed mine but will for sure if it matches the Vin. Great information! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching. My public serve announcement video...Ride safe and thank you for the support.👍👊🇺🇸
So? Was it the VIN?
👍
What if your bike doesn't need a key fob, just the original alarm can you still get the pin the same way?
That is a great question. I'm not aware of a Harley security system that doesn't have a Fob. I believe the FOB has been used on factory security systems since 2007. You could give it try and see if a PIN code pops up. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
@@HDVIBE I have a fob,but it only sets the alarm,it doesn't need to be near the bike , its a 2003 cvo road king
I see. I'm not familiar with that type of system. I'd also suggest checking the owners manual if you have one. 👊
@@HDVIBE Thanks will do!

Does this work for the low rider s

Why is my 09 ultra Classic. Blinkers flash left then the right. It won't start. No click. Nothing. Patients wearing thin
