Awww i hope you are doing well and that your divorce (wanted or not) is been dealt with as best as possible and that your still managing to smile everyday through the hard times! Blessings to you an hope you get to adopt/foster one day even one child once if that's what your heart truly desires i just went thru a divorce 8 months ago and similar situation my husband never supported my dreams or wants about adoption 😢💔 but this last 8 months has truly opened my eyes!! The garbage bag hurt my heart. All bag manufacturers need to donate to the foster system. This is unacceptable. I am extremely grateful for you Peter! ❤
All foster kids carry their things in trash bags and you are absolutely right it is unacceptable and very very sad... I have friends that were in the system and have heard very awful stories.. thank god for Peter fr fr
I've heard of some nonprofits that actually give bags to foster kids, so that they have a dignified way to carry their personal items.
There are so many excellent things available secondhand. Many of us could keep our eyes out for nice luggage and backpacks to donate!
PSA!! For anyone who needs it. . . . Remember for car seats you can always take them to ANY fire department and they will install them properly or even check them to make sure you did it correctly!
He's busy playing with those Legos Peter. He is very aware of his surroundings and is helpful. Kudos to you for being a safe landing place for kids in your care.
I work at a children's residential facility and one of the heart-breaking things is when we get a kid with all their worldly possession stuffed in a trash bag. We are dedicated that whenever one of our kiddos leaves us, that they never leave with their stuff in a trash bag, and they leave us with dignity. Thank you for your heart for these kiddos as we desperately need more foster parents like you!

Not sure what issues brought into the foster care system, but perhaps no efforts were ever made and it will be easy breezy.
It's a pleasure to see a well developing baby. He's on target for speech, language, motor, processing and function.
Rocky is a smart and polite little boy. He deserves a home where he is cherished.
The little boy going back and forth between 3rd Olds are the worst age and wanting him to stay forever was beyond funny and cute.
Peter, don't be afraid to put some toys out of reach, and rotate just a few things into the play area at a time. Also, try labeling the bins so that it is clear that there is a place for everything to help teach tidiness and care for the home.
Excellent idea. It really does help to rotate the toys. Things are a little neater, and the children are excited to play with a toy that they haven't seen in a while.

I have now decided to love all those small children under your charge "loosely." It took my heart such a long time to let go of the baby boy and girl that you recently had because I already loved them so much, then they were suddenly taken away. Now I am afraid to even watch this vlog as I can already feel myself beginning to "bond." Strange emotions considering I am continents away from you. 😥
One thing I have discovered about myself from watching this vlog: I am not brave enough to foster. Once a child comes into my care I just cannot let go. Only adoption can work for me.
I have always wanted to be a mom but God has other plans for me. I'm sharing this with my husband who is older than I am. I told him if something happens to him, I'm going to do this. Kudos Peter, thank you for sharing your journey because I still want to do this. It makes me sad that all the foster children only comes with trash bags. If I know this is temporary, I'd save all their things in luggage cases for when they come of age, I'd give it back to them. I'm saddened by how they are treated. I was raised in a state ran school due to my disability. My mother wanted to have our house as a Safeway house for teenagers who became pregnant but it never came to be for some reason. I want to carry on her desires as they now are mine.

Peter is one of the foster parents that kids in the foster care dream of. I've heard of horror stories with foster care. This man deserves a friggin holiday or something. I love the fact that he cares! Other foster parents are in it for state money. So sad.

Oh the energy!! I love how everyone is so accepting of each other. Your new little boy is going to be a handful, as most little three year olds are. I'm glad you show patience and understanding, but also show just the right amount of limitations. Children want someone to give them some boundaries. It makes them feel more secure knowing they don't have to have responsibility for all decisions because someone is watching out for them to do what is right. Seeing what that lil boy came with made my stomach hurt to know that his whole 3 yrs of life are in a garbage bag and it didn't look like much of anything. I can't imagine what that lil guy has been through but I'm thankful he's been blessed to be with you for now. You're so patient and loving, truly you're gifted and meant to be a Father!
Peter you are so awesome ,so kind and patient, you also are great with teaching them the basic daily life skills like letting him help you make the bed. Such a smart little boy he fits right in. Toddlers are a lot work compared to the older kids.

I believe it's a requirement of the foster agency for the child's safety. This would be especially important in cases
where therewould be a high risk parental abduction if they knew where their children were.
Foster children can’t have their photos published for privacy reasons.

The foster system is imperfect, but it’s made better by caring foster parents like you Peter. The sad reality is that the kids still love their parents, their biological family, they miss them even though they grow to love you (foster dad) too. In Canada, for the well-being of the children, the system attempts to keep the kids in touch with their families. E.g., They have supervised visitations with their parent(s) as soon as possible. Is this the case in America too?

This is not a mess! It’s a three year old under construction!
When my kids were little we had so many Legos they loved to play with. I wanted them to be helpful and tidy up but hundreds of Lego pieces is a bit much. I spread a big sheet on the floor so the two or three kids could sit and make things. When it was time to clean up all I had to do was bundle up the sheet with the Legos inside and toss it all in a big bin.
"I don't like 3yr olds, they go crazy!"

An nonprofit in Pittsburgh called Foster Love Project provides foster families with free shopping at their "store" for needed items as well as having a duffel bag drive every year where people all over the city can fill a duffel bag for a child with new items and then bring it to one of several drop off locations around the city and suburbs, thereby eliminating that child's garbage bag.

Bolt your tv stands, dressers and bedside tables to the walls.
Because when it's something on those items that children want,
they will climb on it and sometimes times causing it to fall on top of them.
In Australia, furniture in that category always comes with a strap to attach it to the wall.

Everything is so new for Rocky right now, so he's wanting to play with everything at once. After a while, he'll be
able to make choices and learn to put some toys away before getting more out.
Any Fire Department will help you put car seat or see if you put it right. My neighbor is foster parent they always have some new little suitcases on hand to put the trash bag stuff in as soon as child arrive. Then they can keep it. To the washer first of all to clean his clothes right.
Rockie is behaving like he's part of the family. He's a sweet boy. What ever were his circumstances he was treated with love. I hope his parents fight to get him back. Peter a wonderful & loving Dad.

I've a 2 year old an almost 4 year old and an almost 7 year old and my house is the same with all 3 boy's toys everywhere 😴 thankfully for now my 8 week old little girl isn't contributing to the toy mess 🤣 you will be kept on your toes with your 3 year old that's for sure 😊♥️🇮🇪

When my brother and I were in the system in the early 80’s we both went from home to home with just what we had on our backs. It sad all these years later that’s all kids come with still.

The little one just fit right in the minute he walked through the door as if he had been there the whole three years of his life. There’s a special comfort in your voice when you talk to the children to make them feel loved right away.
I don’t believe in coincidences but I do believe in miracles and you are one of the greatest miracles of all I can only imagine what some children have gone through in their lives before they come to you or.
I’ve never been through the foster care system but I did leave an orphanage and although people think of orphanages being horrible places where I lived a place called Mount Loretto in Staten Island New York I had fond memories.
I would love to send some things to you such as gift cards to help out with groceries and may be other things you may need in the future I just need to know where to send them.
Thank you so much for what you do for these beautiful children and all though I was happy at the orphanage, if I was ever placed in foster care I wouldn’t want a dad like you may God bless you always and the children that come through your home you are a wonderful father to them and a good man for taking in these children God bless

Omg Peter how u welcome him is SOO BEAUTIFUL this kinda makes me sad that this lil one is soo comfortable being with strangers that tells me he's been bounced around with either family or his parents friends I guest its great for him to be comfy but just sad cuz ik why he is..but ik ur gonna show him love and stability and hopefully his parents get right so they can be mom and dad but until that he is in VERY LOVING CAPABLE hands.

It’s really sad as a child growing up in foster care the social workers always treated us like trash so disposable. Moving from place to place never having a true home or your own possession. I wish things would change because it follows them the rest of their lives. I wish the social workers had compassion and a heart. It would make a difference in the children’s lives.
