    Looks exactly like a Leatherman Wave, except for the inside tools (there's some difference). I love my Leatherman.

    • @jamesleary1405
      @jamesleary1405 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's basically somewhat of a clone since the patents have expired for the wave several companies have made a version of the wave like the ozark trail multiforce also is very similar too the wave.

    Does it have a bottle opener? How are you going to enjoy a cold 807 if it doesn't have a twist off top?

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sure you could open it with the can opener. The bigger concern is why one wouldn't know how to open a bottle without a bottle opener in the first place? :)

  • @jamesleary1405
    @jamesleary1405 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The can opener is 3 tools in 2 that one part you weren't sure of is a wire stripper plus the can opener and also a bottle opener. I love my bibury it's cheap but well built and I don't have to worry about breaking or losing it cause unlike a Leatherman it's not $100 plus.

    I have a Leatherman Wave and 2 Leatherman Rebars. I am VERY picky about the Phillips head. I have used multitools for years working on servers and some of the more modern tools really cheap out the Philips. That one is done right. I might pick one up to have in my go bag. The Leatherman's were so much more expensive and the new waves have the horrible Philips. Damn it. They have a 10% off instant coupon on this thing and I just got it for $38. Wow. Thanks Mike

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what kind of math that is but if you got that for $38 thats way more than 10% off. This thing is no joke. I've been taking it with me when I go out and has already proven handy.

    Nice review Mike,
    I really enjoyed you demonstrating the various tools but would have liked to see the screwdriver bits used under some torque. It has been my resonal experience that they are a point of failure in a multi-tool.
    That said, it does look promising. 🤘😎👍

    The saw works really well if you secure the work piece properly. The tool at 11.30 on the can opener is a wire stripper, roll the wire to complete a round slit in the insulation, then flick the insulation off.

Competition is a good thing, however Leatherman has a 25 year warranty, that other one is very vague as to warranty. I think Leatherman is a USA made product and with their warranty...sorry rather buy from Leatherman company.

    I carried a similar Leatherman all through my time in the army. I kept one under the seat of my motorcycle for emergency use later in life. I still have one in my "Guitar Box", basically a lunchcan that I keep my string stash in - it's useful for trimming the string ends off the tuners and pulling the pegs on acoustic guitars. I could see the potential in a ham go-box, but I'm not that far along yet.
    I won't buy Chinese though.
