Not quite 6 months into my daughter's T1D journey but I've found the channels from both of you some of the most important sources of information. This is a great video, thank you both for what you do!
I am soon to be 75yrs of age. I was diagnosed at the age of 16. High school was very difficult for me. My parents really did nothing to help me. Yes I was on my own. I can totally relate to Tom’s history because that was me. Did what I wanted, eat what I wanted. I found out about the Josllin Clinic in Boston when I was 18. What an eye opener for me. I still have my ups and downs but no ER visits. Now that I am watching you and other podcasts I’ve had more eye opening information. Thank you Tom for your history
I was diagnosed in Feb with late onset T1D and both your channels have helped me stay sane. Thank you both for your work!!! I wish I could contribute more in a monetary sense... but I hope to do so in the future.
Awesome video guys! It’s cool to have my two favourite TH-camrs on the same show. Our 10 year old daughter has T1D and she encouraged me to follow you, Justin. I’ve been following you for awhile, Tom. I also lived with a family in Zurich for a year - Switzerland has a special place in my heart. We are at the beginning of our journey with Android APS. Keep up the awesome work you two! Elizabeth from Aotearoa New Zealand
I can feel you Tom, when we have lived something, we can be an example to others because we lived it, an because we lived through it, we can share it with others, helping other people so they don't make the same mistakes that we made, it took me to drop into a diabetic coma not knowing I was a diabetic, having so much gratitude for the nurses and people that helped me, in TH-cam videos and sharing what you guys actually lived in your lives has been what has brought me through, so thanks, and now I'm just eagerly waiting for another broadcast from You "2 ✌️in.
This was an incredible video! I follow both your channels and Tom when you went back to the days of your diagnosis and teenage years it really hit home for me. It brought tears to my eyes remembering those days. Having to use syringes that looked like small shovels to deliver our insulin to the things we were told to eat to keep sugars down … Thank you thank you thank you Justin and Tom for continuing to make these videos and sharing so much of your knowledge and experiences for all of us to learn from.
500 likes achieved !!! Collaboration time 🎉 Yay!!! Brilliant video and I watch both of you all the time for diabetes tips and tech. You are the best. Thanks both 😊
I am subscribed to Tom’s channel and just subscribed to yours. I have been diabetic for over 20 years and I’ve used pumps unsuccessfully a long time ago. So now I just do MDIs, although I have been using an InPen for a year. I feel like I can learn so much about current technology on your channel. I live in a very rural are with no endocrinologists, and I get little to no current info on diabetes tech from my doctors.
Your channels have been so helpful to me as a recently diagnosed adult T1! I’m grateful for the work that you put into this channel. It helped me not only learn about my diabetes, but to also feel more normal.
As a father of a 5 year old girl diagnosed 9 months ago I want to thank you both for your great content. support from hospital is quite minimal and they have no clue about current gear available out there. keep on your excellent work!
50 years, for me as a Type I. I suffered that self-imposed stigma concerning diabetes also for a long, long time . As you mentioned for over thirty years. It’s funny, because it’s just the opposite now. When I get together with old classmates and the such… I’m very open about my diabetes. Plus, I’ve been doing the Carnivore diet going on 2 years and am in better shape than the vast majority of them. I actually feel really blessed!
You guys are both fantastic. I appreciate your integrity and care for those you touch. I am late on set Type one and my daughter was diagnosed at 17. Your content has helped her and me. Thank you 😊
Excellent two of my favorite T1 TH-camrs! I have gotten so much wonderful information from both of you. Thank you for that. I would love to see you two do another collab. T1's are the masters of tweaking. It's like a secret menu that the community shares. ie. reusing the G6 sensor by tricking the transmitter. 💙
Hi! Am a type one who joined and love both your channels and all of your videos that I have watched so far. If I had to choose one of them from both channels it would be this one. Because it shows what nice, responsible, knowledgeable, honest, generous, open, helpful guys you both are and so simply makes us as followers want to go on and watch all your other videos past and future ASAP. By the way Justin you are also a great interviewer! And Tom thank you so much for being so open in sharing your story!
Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot. Justin is an amazing interviewer indeed. It's my only diabetes interview type podcast I follow regularly.
Thanks for all you do! Tide pool loop sounds good, needs to be tubeless for kids…also DIY sounds wonderful but doesn’t work for children in school where school nurse only able to work with FDA approved systems…6 Y/O to young to manage…hopeful tide pool will have tubeless available…Our granddaughter is on Omnipod 5 and the G-6…still waiting for the D-7 to be compatible with Omnipod…Can’t imagine how hard it was for Tom’s mom and dad to manage for him as a child…it’s challenging now with devices! Props to them👏
I learn so much from both of you'll I used to Loop but know I use Omnipod 5 and try to keep up with Loop as loop saved my life Thanks so much foe keeping us all updated on different tech
Hi justin, the next samsung watch could have a build-in glucose meter. I guess samsung beat apple to the punch. It would be interesting to see a video about that. Cheers!
Tom, I agree that Libre 1 is a dinosaur... "historic" maybe you said. However, outside Europe and US, in many coutries it is still the only option. Today, Libre 2 or 3 and all Dexcom aren't promoted by the manufacturers because the population and income are low....
Type one talks was my 1st youtubers, checks all the boxes. Followed him sice I was diagnosed, you had ont with matt from ftf warrior. That was great too. Really, i mean, I could talk to you guys forever, at this point, its the closest thing to friends I got.🎉

Great point!
I hope access to the newer devices gets better.
A man after my own heart, Authority = 🤮
When I was dx in 1970’s I felt alone
I can imagine...im glad social media like ours exists today so that newbies can feel less alone.
