Finally you're starting to realize why Jordan Peterson is a charlatan!!
The best advice I can give you is watch the first 4 episodes of his Bible lectures and see why he uses it. You can also watch the first 2 or 3 of his Maps of Meaning lectures in order to get used to his way of speaking.
His objective is not to find out the truth, is to serve humanity first. That's why everything to him is a tool, rather than The Truth.

Issue is that Jordan Peterson is not a Christian, so he does not share a Christian perspective. He talking with David Rubin who is going to be raising two male children with his gay partner and they are trying to navigate how to raise a family. Here is why gay marriage is not marriage and sin is sin. Of course we do not live up to the ideal as we are all sinners, but breaking God's law is always evil.

The point is not that it is an ideal to serve as a tool for humanity to improve itself. The point is that it is God's designed DEFINITION and because of SIn we've fallen short of it. Jordan is literally INVERTING the functions of each pole/origin. For him aiming for the ideal is the goal, which is Sin and the Ideal itself is UN-atainable, which is the forbidden. Instead of following God's commandments he pretends to use God in order to "improve" humanity. That's why I can't stand him anymore. I still pray for him and mention Grace to him, but I'm not sure he's even interested. That's God's election in action.
      Mark 10:6-9

      @@CWRobinsonMusic That's nonsense...
The sleigh of hand he played here using his typical battery of resources is the source of the problem. Portraying Marriage as an Ideal rather than a Definition is what allows "Homosexual Marriage" to be plausible.
The average marriage fits the definition, the drunken marriage ALSO fits the definition, the IDEAL marriage ALSO fits the definition. It's an definition, not an ideal. This sleigh of hand is incredibly evil and toxic.
You seem to have excused Jordan, instead of listening to Pastor Wilson here.

When Jordan starts talking about Jung and evolutionary biology the errors in his reasoning become pragmatic not truthful. He says he believes in God and he loves to moralize to tell us why we should quit wasting our lives but his foundation isn’t solid, disappointing that he’s becoming more and more like those he detested who caved to the mob. Every child has a mother. Every child has a father. The issue with gay marriage and children is multi-faceted. One, the child doesn't have an active mother/father in their life and two, there is a missing mother/father out there somewhere. In a few years that child will ask, "Where is my mother? Why doesn't she want to live with me?" And maybe more shocking: "Which one of you is my _real_ dad?"

I think the saddest thing about all this is that it is intentional. These "couples" knowingly, intentionally and deliberately create these situations to bring children up in, and we are expected to believe that these are natural situations are somehow going to raise perfectly stable children. And I want to be clear that to me this is very different from a situation like adoption, where a child may have been abandoned by a biological parents, or may have been orphaned, and there may not be any other arrangement for that child except for adoption. Adoption is not perfect Kaye but it can be a very redeeming tool for children in these situations… Including children who are at risk of being aborted and somebody offers to adopt that child rather than it being aborted. However, this situation is completely different as the adults involved are deliberately and intentionally creating the situation, and intentionally and deliberately creating children with these sorts of scars. This is probably the saddest aspect of this whole thing. It's the fact that it is being done intentionally rather than circumstances outside of the control of those involved in the child situation. And the most disturbing thing about it is that this is what passes for "conservatism"these days.

Jordan did not and does not refuse to use the lying pronouns. His objection that made him famous was about being forced by the government to use them. His point (God bless him for it) was the government should never be allowed to force anyone to use any specific language. I have heard him say he has no problem using someones "preferred pronouns" if they personally ask him in earnest. So he didn't really have the definition right on that either.

The false truth, the false light: it strives to displace the Lord And Savior Jesus Christ who is the only true Truth and only true Light. If the level of discourse on these subjects is only a matter of insulting one another then we truly are damned. The atheist can be (nay should be) forgiven for their ignorance; You have no excuse for that kind of condescension and it only serves to further entrench the secularists opinions on believers as being 'holier than thou' and judgmental. We ultimately should strive to be more like Christ and I believe He would not talk down to or badly about those who didn't believe in Him much less needed His help. No woman ever could or ever has accomplished the role and impact my mother has. There’s a natural relationship and affection of a mother and her child that a role model woman can not fill.

I have always enjoyed Dr. Peterson, but of course he has conceded much of his beliefs on family that are based on his years as a clinical psychologist, for the sake of his friend. One point that he seems to have missed in this discussion is that there’s a difference between not being able to live up to an ideal (making mistakes in a marriage, for example), and knowingly and intentionally not living up to that ideal (homosexual marriage, and choosing to have a child like Dave Rubin and his partner have). Thats just an outright dismissal of the ideal, not simply a failure to live up to it.
Also, I would have liked for him to ask Peterson what the data is on the effects of children growing up with homosexual parents vs heterosexual parents. I’m sure he must have some data on that.

Well, I no longer have hope in seeing quality data come out of our institutions any more. I think the heyday of honest analysis and collection of data has passed us up about 10 or more years ago in spite of the technological advancements we’ve made. For example, several government agencies have declared they will no longer gather data on certain crimes or they’ve reclassified some felonies as misdemeanors and this distorting historical trends. Another example is the CDC now admitting that they did not look at any VAERS data even though back in Jan 2021 they said they would do so on a weekly basis. We’re going into the dark abyss of lies I fear.

The main reason they did that is to make minorities look like they’re performing better. They know those are the main strugglers so the govt thinks they can put a band aid on the problem by lying about their performance in school to help them in life. In reality, it’s the parents job to properly prepare them; if the parents actually did their job, the kids wouldn’t be doing so poorly in the first place. There is no thought for the scars that are going to be intentionally and deliberately inflicted on these children because of the way they were both conceived, birth, and raised. That is the saddest and most disgusting aspect of this whole thing. Children are no longer the future of our societies that are to be cherished and raised for God. Now, children are just bought and sold commodities that are bought and sold for the whims, wants and desires of selfish adults like this. And the most disturbing aspect about it is that this is what passes for "conservatism" these days. If this is what conservatism has come to, then I am no longer a Conservative. @RaeBehrs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Agreed. IVF in general is definitely people trying to play God or at least to attempt to force His hand. The Lord opens and closes the womb and is the Author of Life. It treats human life as if it were science experiment and a commodity. It's literally a form of human trafficking. Not only that, but IVF pregnancies greatly increase the possibility of complications for both the mother (surrogate or not) and for the baby(ies). Often times multiple embryos are implanted and then later reduction abortions are preformed if the parents didn't actually want to end up with multiples. The rest of the embryos are then either kept on ice (we have no idea the long term impacts for such children), destroyed/murdered, or abandoned by their biological parents. On top of all of those moral issues with IVF in general, surrogacy also strips a newborn infant from the only mother it's ever known. All of pregnancy, a baby learns it's mother's smell, the sound of her heart and her voice, the rock of her movement. All of the hormones involved in birth are designed to bond the mother and the baby together and create a deep attachment. It is an extremely traumatic experience to separate the baby and the birth mother. The surrogate may have concented to subject herself to that physical and emotional pain, but the child did not and cannot.

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
      John 15:18‭-‬20 ESV

I appreciate daily wire for sitting down and having these conversations. The criticism that it’s not conservative enough or it doesn’t hold conservative values as we’d like to see them is not always the first goal that I see the Daily Wire trying to do. That said I like the ability for Doug Wilson to critique it and point out what he thinks is inconsistent and or wrong
We need to continue to be open to conversations with people that we disagree with.
Dave Rubin does not considering himself a conservative he got kicked out of the liberal left camp. It’s the left that keeps going further and further over the cliff they leave behind their own. I think it’s only good that Dave Rubin keeps getting exposed to a better way of life and gets challenged on his way of life by people that don’t hate on him. But with people that want to see him walk with God.

Thank you for responding to this video Doug. I listened to Peterson and rubins full discussion the other day and was quite perplexed yet not entirely surprised by Peterson’s views on gay marriage. It was disappointing to hear JP be so light footed and careful with his language with Rubin. He is usually not afraid to offend anyone as long as he speaks the truth, but obviously he is afraid to offend a friend.

It’s not about offending anyone it’s about genuine societal fair integration. The question Ruben asked was a crucial one, what are we going to do with people who want families and have the means and resources to do so?? Jus let them rot? Not everyone has to adhere to your religion.

Thank you, Doug. This is great and just a further example of why knowing true things and knowing THE TRUTH are not synonymous with one another. CHRIST or chaos-the world really is that black and white. Thankfully a bunch of people who have been playing in the gray area are finally waking up to that fact. Some never will, unfortunately.

I agree with Doug. But Peterson hasn’t gone to the wall on pronouns. He’s gone to the wall on compelled speech. Peterson willingly uses false pronouns if he believe the person to be genuinely convinced of their own delusion.

I thought this as well. I’ve heard Jordan say that he’ll use “preferred pronouns” for a person out of courtesy in a private setting.
