Me halfway through the episode: "Jimmy is so screwed" Me towards the end of the episode: "Kim is so screwed" Me at the end of the episode: "Nacho is so screwed"
@@aznboi1027 I think only one dies and the other the gets vacuumed out. The last connection to BB we need is how Jimmy meets Vacuum cleaner guy. They have to show us that
@@MrMeddyman Problem is, the actor who played Vaccum Guy passed away last year, shortly after El Camino released. His last work on the Breaking Bad / BCS universe was for El Camino and the flashforward in BCS Season 5 Episode 1. So they can't really have that character in Season 6, unfortunately.
@@MarkHogan994 He may not be a onscreen but they still may be able to do a sound alike cameo over the phone, or something like that. I'm hoping this ends up being Kims fate vs getting killed.
Does Lalo have superpowers or some shit cause he keeps jumping around like spiderman. And a sixth sense bc he just seems to know shit like where to find Saul's car.
FEAR The Walking Don right?! He’s sound of mind. Twins are one thing. They might need a Tuco refresher course. Lord. He’s unpredictable and crazy as they get.
Jimmy does such a GREAT job of retelling the story without making it sound as if it's been coached. Adding details, then omitting them, and rephrasing things with ease. That's something that only comes from the actual experience, and it's pretty amazing how easily Jimmy pulls it off.
Thank you for making this point because I think that a lot if people believe Jimmy wasn't doing a good job here when in fact he was PERFECT, shitting himself out of fear and still nailing every single time.
Yeah, bad liars make the mistake of making it a story. It's a story they repeat, so there's lots of details they never forget, and sound rehearsed. But then you begin to actually probe and they don't add anything new, it's the same script. And things only change when you point out mistakes they're making. When a person tells a story, over and over, it's always slightly different and they can always expand on it because there's lots to expand on. If you want to tell a good lie, play through it in your mind like an actual event that actually occurs with actual details, and then tell the story of what happened in your mind, like telling a dream.
I 100% agree, but we can’t ignore how Odenkirk has also shined just as much as her as well... Ya Kim is getting way more scenes to shine in the spotlight compared to what she got in the past, but the subtleties that Bob odenkirk has shown in his already amazing acting this season has made him even more incredible. If either of them or both don’t win the Emmy this year it will be a crime.
Can we just drop it on always needing to bring up the emmys with this show? We get it. The actors are amazing. We don’t need to be reminded every episode of how someone was “robbed”
Rewatching breaking bad to show my grandmother for her first time and we just hit that episode in season 3 today in BB right after watching BCS last night and noticed that... brilliant!
In breaking bad when gus speaks with mike...he tells him "I don't believe fear to be an effective motivater" as if it was a quote he came up with...but why is it shown in this series that mike was the one who used that line on him first?
Something must have happened with nacho that made Gus change his mind and pick up Mike's line about fear as motivation. While Mike noticed Jesse's behaviour and realised that Gus's line about problem dog was true as well
@@rahulmathew7799 Agreed. My least favourite moment in this show because it takes away so much from that moment. Even if something happens to sincerely change Gus' attitude, to quote back to Mike of all people makes it sound really petty
I see somewhere that the reason why Lalo keep asking for the story it's because what occurs with a made up story, usually people made the mistake of saying the same thing over and over and Saul saw this and keep changing details of the story, to make it more authentic.
He's such a good liar because he knows that the best way to lie is to believe the lie. You can't mix up details and you won't keep telling it like a robot because you actually convinced yourself it's true. You can't slip him unless he chooses to slip.
@@17thknight also a good lie has truth mixed in. "walked north, had to drink his pee, spent the night there, ended up at a truck stop" Though i'm pretty sure Lalo didn't even believe a second of that, once he saw the bullet holes, he is pretty sure what happened.
My favorite moment of this episode is when Jimmy gets out of Mike's car after the "what have I gotten myself involved in" conversation, and there's two kids skateboarding in the background, one of which trips on something. Amazing callback straight to the very beginning.
Kim found a last second "Heisenberg" way out.. If neither said anything i think one was gonna die that night.. Kim like Walt had nothing left to lose and turned it on Lalo..
She kind of had to do it too because Jimmy had the #1 lawyer mug in his bag with the bullet hole. When Saul mentioned that the bag of money is in the other room Kim had to do something. She pretty much had no choice . If Lalo would ve discovered the bag with the bullet hole'd mug, Kim's story would've been proven false and most likely they would've been dead right there. My god though what a display of bravery right there to pretty much drive a dagger deep in Lalo. Because he knows its true too. Kim is amazing
Feel like Jimmy is not getting enough credit. When he’s upset with Kim it’s mostly about her safety as opposed to some ego thing like it was for Walt. Messa Verde is the safety net in his eyes, they keep the lights on, but Kim is already on bad decision road. He’s not Saul right now and he may never be. Saul is a facade to cover the pain brewing underneath. He’s a nuanced character and even though we don’t have to like him when he says he cares about Kim I tend to believe him despite him going about in a terrible way.
Oh absolutely. Jimmy isn't comfortable representing a murderer even though it's literally his job. Meanwhile Walt whistles while he works after poisoning a child and letting another get shot. They aren't in the same universe
@@17thknight Uh, what? Are you forgetting that Saul constantly advocates for people getting murdered in BB? Jesse prevented Badger from getting shanked in prison when Saul suggested it, Walt refused to kill Hank when Saul suggested it, and he also refused to kill Jesse. The last one is arguably the most despicable thing Saul has done, because he looked out for Jesse over the course of the series, and yet he is immediately willing to have Jesse killed just because he thinks that Walt wouldn't mind killing him. It's made worse by the fact that Saul knew Jesse was trying to avenge Brock's poisoning, and he was still on Walt's side. Jimmy is a piece of shit in BCS, but with many sympathetic qualities. However in BB, he is despicable.
@@Jeremy-jm3fe This is all very true but i will give the writers some leeway since they couldnt have anticipated the success of BB and then that leading to the BCS universe.
So Jimmy feeding Kim to the cartel (indirectly, but actions have consequences) is Jimmy caring for her? Just like Walt, they both got their loved ones involved in their shady business and Jimmy will lose Kim, probably in a worse way than Walt lost his family. Mike said it square and simple: you can be an outlaw, but never involve your family in it, otherwise it's a shitshow. You want to be a scumbag lawyer, you don't tell your wife that you have to pick up 7 million dollars from the cartel in the middle of the desert. You keep things separated. But Chuck was right, Jimmy thinks that doing bad things and then admitting to it takes all the guilt away. It may lift a weight out of your consience, but throws it right into someone else's face. Now Kim is is a huge leverage Lalo has on Jimmy and he's the only one to blame.
i don’t know how these people keep topping each episode. this was the best episode of the season by far for me. it had EVERYTHING! Kim and Jimmy confrontations. a Mike monologue. that beautiful and haunting opening montage callback to “Something Stupid” with the softer rendition getting cut off by Jimmy getting reception. and that fucking ENDING scene, oh. my god. i haven’t had my heart beat that fast since Breaking Bad. i’m so scared for the finale. all the pieces are in place for “Something Unforgivable”. i always look forward to these reactions. you guys pay attention with your analyses and you’re super involved with the community. you’re both awesome! excited for you to see the finale, keep it up guys.
I still really like 506 for the comedy and 508 for the action sequence. I really hope 510 has some real crazy happenings and it's not just a cliffhanger into Season 6.
When was the last time that someone told Lalo, 'what is'. His house is not in order. He is not Superman. He heard the truth and recognized it as such. He respects Kim.
Lalo just doesn’t miss a beat does he. Man I was so scared he was just gonna whip his gun out and kill Kim on spot. That scene was so tense! This show really has gone to the next level.
Immediately when the episode ended I turned on notifications for you guys because I wanted to see the reaction. Such a crazy episode. Such a great show!
That tapping was creepy as fuck, wasn't it? And that Lalo goes back to do it after Jimmy tells him not to. Of course, what Jimmy was concerned with is not the poor fish but that Lalo might see that his phone was on!
"and potentially nothing bad could happen to any of them." When a show manages to do that without making it feel like they created a fake threat, or suddenly reversed direction, that's when you get the really high tension. When you can tell for certain that the story is setting up the character do die, it's just tragic but you know what is coming. When you're not sure and it could plausibly go either way without feeling inconsistent, that's when things are really scary.
"It wasn't me it was Ignacio. He is the one" "Lalo didn't send you? No Lalo?" I still wonder what was that all about. I have some theories but I want to wait and see. This show is so good.
Everyone commenting on how they were so worried for Kim when she was telling off Lalo. I got a different vibe there. I actually think, even though Lalo may not have liked being talked to QUITE that way, that he realized she was making some good points. I think he came to appreciate and respect her after that. He may have thought she was a bit out of line in the WAY she said it, and may be a little angry with her for that part, but I think he sees she knows what she's talking about and may rethink the way he handles some things.
@Mariano Yalour: But he did come to those realizations because of what SHE said. So, he still might have some respect for her for making him think more clearly. (As much as he's capable of respecting someone other than his uncle or someone in his own family). So, he still could think she's smart for bringing up something he missed.
I commented this on the last video and I’ll comment it again. The actor who plays Lalo is absolutely incredible. So incredibly terrifying because he has like two polar opposite sides to him. There’s the overly happy side and the menacing side, and somehow both sides end up being equally terrifying. I doubt he will get an emmy nomination cuz he isn’t as known as some of the other actors in the show, but he definitely deserves one. Also Rhea Seehorn deserves an emmy as well (obviously).
The last scene was VERY reminiscent of the last scene of End Times in Breaking Bad where Walt was on the roof waiting to detonate the bomb. This time it was Mike on the roof with his sights on Lala. Both were so intense
I just caught something after watching this a second time. Mike's advice to Jimmy when he says you'll wake up eat breakfast and realize you haven't thought about it comes directly from the episode when his daughter-in-law realized she didn't think about Matty when she was making breakfast. The writing in this show is just absolutely brilliant
Yeah there are lots of parallels to previous episodes. The final scene is almost a beat by beat recreation of the moment in season 2 where Chuck confronts Jimmy and Kim defends him even when she knows he's lying.
With Mike looking through the scope and listening to the convo through his cell phone, it's important that, at one point, he aims at Jimmy. I don't think Mike is there to necessarily take Lalo out; rather, it's to make sure Jimmy's story doesn't change because, if it does, then Gus' plan is at risk. If they mess up the story, I have a feeling that Mike would then take somebody out...probably all of them (can't just take out Lalo because now you know that Jimmy could crack under future pressure).
I know, right? For me Breaking Bad started way weaker than BCS tbh... first 2 seasons of BB didnt catch me that much. Dont get me wrong.. BB is the best show out there.. still! But I loved BCS from the beginning!
@@MiguelStinson88 better call Saul is consistently amazing and it keeps getting better. Breaking bad was consistently very solid for the first 3 seasons and then stepped it up to incredible levels from the end of season 3 to the end of season 5.
@@deptusmechanikus7362 I'm so glad people are finally seeing it as more than a cash grab. It's a really well written and competent show that deserves the love Breaking Bad got
Lalo's introduction never seizes to make me laugh just because of how dark he's lit and he's like "HEY GUYS!" Still manages to be tense as fuck. Love this show!
Mike has GPS on Nacho’s car (prob the gas cap as usual). That’s how he knew Lalo was back in ABQ and about to visit Jimmy. Mike and Gus will know that Nacho is going to Mexico unless they change cars or something.
Jimmy doesn’t tell the true to Kim because he doesn’t want her to be involved anymore, and he doesn’t tell Lalo because in my opinion now he’s aware that there are “other people” watching him and they don’t want him to talk.
Jimmy cannot tell Lalo that Mike saved him, because Lalo hates Mike and that would reveal Gus' implication. Mike made sure Jimmy came up with a consistent story that would not betray his role in the whole thing.
It'd feel weird if Kim dies, because Jimmie in BB is all easy going as if nothing that tragic had happened. He wouldn't be like that if she died, or at least if he knew she died. I hope she survives, she's one of the best characters in this universe for sure. I want her to reappear in the Gene's timeline. Seeing them again together after all these tragic events would be amazing.
Main reason I don't think Kim dies, is because the Saul Goodman we see in Breaking Bad doesn't seem to be grieving. For her to die and Saul to be like that, she's had to betray Jimmy in such a way that he'd completely write off her death just like he did Chuck's. I think they just had a bad breakup. I really hope we see her with Gene.
i laughed so hard at that scene. It's one of those funny but sad and tragic but then it's like nah he deserved that but then again like what about those good people who happens to be in that state and like ugh! This is such an amazing series
Almost had a heart attack this episode lol. I’ve never understood the notion that this show is not good because even if it’s a slow burn the payoff were seeing now in season 5 is totally worth it. It’s tough to admit for many but this show is creeping up on Breaking bad in my opinion, but who cares both shows are in the same universe. Vince Gilligan and his team are unbelievable they’ve created 2 of the greatest shows ever 💯
The way Giancarlo Esposito's face shifted from friendly to cold and serious after the call with Bolsa was CRAZY! Insane how good and how they dialed it up almost to BrBa world we know. Everyone who has taken part deserves praise. The current season especially last 3 ep. is insane can't imagine the Season finale and how crazy S6 is gonna be... 👀🔥⚗️💰🪓 I feel alot of nods to BrBa in the next season.
Kim just signed Nacho's death certificate. She said to Lalo that he does not trust anyone on the US side of his operation and she's right. "Where to?" asked Nacho twice this episode. Instead of asking, "How's the boss, Hector Salamanca?" Or, "What happened? How's the lawyer?" or something similar to show that he cares about Lalo's or Hector's businesses. Nacho wanted to leave Lalo out in the desert to wait for the twins to pick him up, that's hella cold. Lalo definitely noticed this. Nacho does not like any of the Salamancas and it shows. Kim going off on Lalo like that, that bought some time for them to do something, whatever it may be. Whether they use the disappearer (Mike probably knows him), or whether Kim goes back to her hometown. As far as Lalo knows, he knows her as "Kim Goodman," not her actual name, so there is a chance she could walk away. Maybe.
Artoria Pendragon I feel like you misinterpreted the scene of the desert , nacho looked a little worried for Lalo , looking around as if something was going to happen to him and asking him multiple times if he wanted him to stay and wait
Artoria Pendragon just a note - Mike does not know the disappearer. Vince & Peter said on the podcast that the disappearer is the one thing Saul has in his pocket that Mike doesn’t & can’t know about. It’s protection for Saul _from_ Mike, if it were to come down to that.
Your intro song is so catchy lol “When ur in, urine”😂 after seeing that improperly shown in the youtube subtitles, I can’t un-hear it while nacho says that line. Also ur prob the best instant-react channel on YT👌🏻 keep up the good work
the actress that portraits Kim... just awesome. So much feellings ... the writing genius too obviously, but her acting... my god. Rewatching the intro when she cries... so genuine ro relatable.. love her
So many many thoughts: 1. If Jimmy didnt lie and told the truth I'm pretty sure Lalo would've killed them both. 2. I think Kim realized why Jimmy lies to her, at least in this case it was to protect her. 3. I think Nacho will turn on Gus and thats when Gus will realize fear isn't an effective motivator. 4. If it wasn't for Nacho, Gus would've killed Jesse in Breaking Bad... 5. I still have a feeling Kim might end up being Gus' lawyer or something, we never saw Gus' lawyer and you know he needs someone like Saul.
I think Kim calling out Lalo at the end made him realize Bolsa organized the hit on Jimmy. Now he's heading down to Mexico to give Bolsa and Eladio a piece of his mind
23:57 "Just be honest with him" What? You do realize what that entails, don't you? ..."So you were stopped and nearly killed... how did you get out?" "Oh, this friend of mine helped me." "Who is he?..." ... "So, you're working with a guy that works for my archenemy? That makes you a spy..."
Kim's speech at the end was friggin' great, but am I the only one who got the feeling she signed Nacho's death sentence? She literally gave Lalo a motivation to second guess his own men (more than he already does).
I don't understand how Nacho can die. He has had almost zero interactions with Jimmy so if he dies now that means he never impacted the main story in any meaningful way.
When Kim checked Jimmy's bottle it looked like she was at end of barrel's gun and when Lalo looks at the bullet hole in Jimmy's car it seems like he's looking into that same gun at Kim!!!!!!! POSSIBLE FORESHADOWING +++ Petition for Rhea Seahorn for an Emmy for this episode.... Absolutely killed it
I love how much you guys pay attention. Like the recognition of the fear not being a good motivator line from Breaking Bad. I feel like too many of these little things, or even whole minor characters from Breaking Bad turning up just go unnoticed or unrecognised by other people who do this but you guys are always so observant, makes these things so much interesting to watch.
I cant imagine them killing Kim. I dont think Saul would be able to be a part of her dying, and still going on to keep being a lawyer. Even he has more morals than that haha but its in the Breaking Bad universe, so who knows?!?! Haha
The last scene of this episode was on a tier of intensity only matched by the best episodes from Breaking Bad. The second Saul answered that phone call from Mike after the knock at the door it went from 0-100. Heart pounding. Gut sinking. Every writer has knocked it out of the park & every actor has hit Bryan Cranston’s/Aaron Paul’s level of performance (who both won Emmy’s)! The bar just keeps being raised & I can’t believe we’re already at the finale. We’re in for a good one, folks! Thank you for the awesome reactions & thoughts as always, absolutely love getting to watch these episodes with your commentary the second time around. Best part of the week 🛣🕳🔑
The scene when Bill Oakley was talking to Jimmy/Saul (which wasn’t in the video) mirrored the scene of “Lightning bolts” or where Jimmy talks to Howard and it says so much to what he has gone through one episode
Gus once said in Breaking Bad that he didn’t tell Walt that the cartel wanted him dead because he didn’t consider fear to be a good motivator, which was Mike’s line here. Obviously right now Gus is fine with fear being a motivator. So Nacho must do something that convinces Gus he’s wrong about that. He must wind up hurting Gus in some way.
Whole episode was amazing, but that intro nearly made me cry. Loved the symbolism with the snake and the fish, which I think is supposed to show a duality of Saul the predator vs Jimmy the loving husband. Also loved that it was a softer rendition of the song, as if Kim and Jimmy are both tired of suppressing their feelings, and they both just want to be home.
I don't think that she will go the Ed route, because they've already done that with 3 characters in the universe (Saul, Walt, Jessie), and I think it would be too predictable for the writers to do that.
BTW, Steven - your choice of the shot of Lalo looking through the bullet hole for this episode's thumbnail is so perfect. You really are good and we appreciate all your hard work!
"Honesty" is what got Kim in the situation she's in. Jimmy should've NEVER told Kim about the money he was picking up for Lalo. Now she's in the game thanks to "Honesty". There are ertain things better left unsaid. Also, had Jimmy admitted to Lalo that he originally lied about what happened, Lalo would've killed both Jimmy and Kim since they now can'tbe trusted. There's a reason why Mike wanted Jimmy to stick to the story.
I mean, if he hadn't agreed to pick up that money she wouldn't be in the game either. He let his greed blind him to the reality of the dangerous world he willingly just entered.
She is in this situation because both of them made a lot of bad choices that led them both on this road. Kim could have walked away from Jimmy that night they argued but she chose to get married instead.
@@ctranpeggy Which is why I disagreed with you. If you say it was honesty, I can say it was him agreeing to pick up those bags, and then you cay say it was Kim not leaving Jimmy. It wasn't just one thing that got Kim into the game. Both their choices led them down this road.
My point has to do with what Mike told Jimmy about his own family being safe because they don't know about what he does. Kim got herself involved the moment she went to see Lalo. She would've never seen Lalo had Jimmy not say anything to her about his business. I agree with Mike.
Now that the season's nearly over, I'd like to say that I really appreciate having found this channel. I ran into you guys when you were finishing Breaking Bad, so as you were about to start BCS it also helped me to rewatch it all of it again through your reactions, as a recap of sorts. Now it's not only the episode itself I look forward to watch all week, it's also your reaction next! I didn't use to watch reaction channels but thanks to you I've realized the appeal in them. You always have very interesting comments to make (as do the people here in the comments, cheers). It's also nice to see other people being passionate about this show, because BCS isn't as popular as BB was after all. It's a bit of a shame, but hey BB didn't really blow up either until the last 2 seasons, who knows.

Lalo usually smiles when talking to people but in this final scene there was no smile on his face. He was serious as hell which made his character even more scary. Great acting on his part.
I’ve been watching y’all’s reaction and watching BCS for the first time and since it’s been 4 years I haven’t commented but HOLY SHIT KIM WEXLER what a freaking beast that was awesome
Can we just take 1 minute to appreciate how everything is perfect both in BB and BCS ? The actors are perfect The realisation is perfect The writing is fucking perfect There is so much attention put in the details The music is awesome AAAAAAAAAAaAAAa
I don't think she will die either. Or at least I hope not, she's one of my fav characters on the show. She's too badass to die, I think she will get a new identity and dissapear.
When Saul told Lalo to take the money from his bag, this forced Kim to step up. Jimmy was bumbling with this story since he was still suffering from PTSD, but Lalo would have found the cup with the bullet hole and they would have been goners. What a scene!
Great recap guys! Two amazingly epic episodes in a row, but very, very different. Kim was amazing and Rhea definitely deserves an Emmy for this season. I can’t imagine how they’re going top it all with the season finale, but I’m confident they somehow will! 🛣🕳🔑
It was intriguing to notice that Mike at one point took his sights off of Lalo and put it on Jimmy. It was only a brief moment but Mike was there to save Gus' business regardless of what might happen.
One small comedy moment which I feel should be recognised was the lady at the bail counter’s slow head-turn from the screen to Saul like, “are you shitting me right now!?”
Kim was an absolute bad-ass in this episode. She did the same thing with Chuck when he called Jimmy out on his stunt of changing the Mesa Verde address.
Bolsa ordered the hit because 7 mil to free Lalo means 7 mil reasons for the gov to look into Lalo and if that happens, it leads to the Cartel. Also the beauty of Kim ‘advising’ Lalo is unbeknownst to her, she inadvertently set Lalo’s eyes on Nacho. For now, Gus Mike and Nacho have hid their undercover well but Kim with no knowledge of any of their operations, revealed all to Lalo, just by defending Jimmy
I see a parallel between both Lalo and Jesse waiting to be picked up, realizing they've been duped, and going back, and their character's ensuing actions dramatically changing the course of the show. Love that you guys are still doing this & staying good!
The BB/BCS writing team are masters at injecting a brand new major character into the story right in the middle of the series and turning everything on it's head around that new character. It was Gus in BB and it is Lalo in BCS. At one point 90% of the story wound up centered around Gus in BB and now the same for Lalo in BCS. It's incredible how easy these writers make it look.
That was probably one of the best episodes from Better Call Saul AND Breaking Bad... When you just can't imagine how they could possibly do it better - well there it is.

Mike was a police so he probably coached Jimmy on refreshing his stories with new details.
@@quanghuy1444 I think that's a possibility... but Jimmy is also an incredibly good liar, although he has been slacking lately.
@@quanghuy1444 Jimmy didn't knew Lalo was coming
The last scene was so intense I literally paused like 2 times to catch my breath!
Ramy Tfaily same hahahahaha
i was so scared
I cried from the sheer terror of kim meeting her end..
Same
I was literally heavily breathing
My favorite moment of this episode is when Jimmy gets out of Mike's car after the "what have I gotten myself involved in" conversation, and there's two kids skateboarding in the background, one of which trips on something. Amazing callback straight to the very beginning.
Wow...i didn't even notice that
Two observations about this episode
Kim has some major stones standing up to Lalo and two Rhea Seehorn needs an Emmy...like now yo!
Yup
Why am I reading this in Jesse pinkmans voice
Ovaries. They’re called ovaries.
She is the best actor/actress on TV I have ever seen.
Kim found a last second "Heisenberg" way out.. If neither said anything i think one was gonna die that night.. Kim like Walt had nothing left to lose and turned it on Lalo..
I think Kim saw clearly through Lalo's game (trying to break Saul by pressure and fear) and knew Saul wouldn't last so she fought back for him
That and I think she killed Nacho with that speech.
Wonder if she gets addicted to the rush
She kind of had to do it too because Jimmy had the #1 lawyer mug in his bag with the bullet hole. When Saul mentioned that the bag of money is in the other room Kim had to do something. She pretty much had no choice . If Lalo would ve discovered the bag with the bullet hole'd mug, Kim's story would've been proven false and most likely they would've been dead right there. My god though what a display of bravery right there to pretty much drive a dagger deep in Lalo. Because he knows its true too. Kim is amazing
@@uztre6789 Why?
I didn't get why Nacho now is in troubles :c
@@Jeremy-jm3fe
This is all very true but i will give the writers some leeway since they couldnt have anticipated the success of BB and then that leading to the BCS universe.
@@FrankyRZK wait, when did Jimmy feed Kim to the cartel? Last time I checked, she went to go talk to Lalo all by herself. That was her choice.
The last scene was so tense.
Haven't felt this tense since Breaking Bad.
It's Insane how good this show is.
I thought this was even more intense than Nacho replacing Hector's pills
i don’t know how these people keep topping each episode. this was the best episode of the season by far for me. it had EVERYTHING!
Kim, while talking to Jimmy: "I'm not changing my identity."
I don't know about that..
Lalo just doesn’t miss a beat does he. Man I was so scared he was just gonna whip his gun out and kill Kim on spot. That scene was so tense! This show really has gone to the next level.
same here
Immediately when the episode ended I turned on notifications for you guys because I wanted to see the reaction. Such a crazy episode. Such a great show!
I’ve watched BCS since the beginning, and never did I think this show would make me scared FOR A FISH
LOL, I hated when Lalo was tapping on the fish tank!
That tapping was creepy as fuck, wasn't it? And that Lalo goes back to do it after Jimmy tells him not to. Of course, what Jimmy was concerned with is not the poor fish but that Lalo might see that his phone was on!
@@firewoman2863 i think he was also concerned with the fish. he's had that same goldfish since season 2.
Fire Woman
Didn’t even think about that!
Lmaoo i was like wat he gonna do to Nemo, i think lalo tapping on the tank was a way for him to control his rage
"and potentially nothing bad could happen to any of them."
When a show manages to do that without making it feel like they created a fake threat, or suddenly reversed direction, that's when you get the really high tension.
When you can tell for certain that the story is setting up the character do die, it's just tragic but you know what is coming. When you're not sure and it could plausibly go either way without feeling inconsistent, that's when things are really scary.
And they are doing that with a story that we (in some way) already know the end
Kim Wexler just argued a death sentence down to "Aight, I'm outta here." - she's the best lawyer ever.
"It wasn't me it was Ignacio. He is the one"
"Lalo didn't send you? No Lalo?"
I still wonder what was that all about. I have some theories but I want to wait and see. This show is so good.
He may have thought he knew Nacho was the rat when he tried to kill Lalo but was trying to convey he didn’t know it was him until recently
This episode had me on the edge of my seat especially that last scene
Me tooo iwas soo quite the I couldn't speak wooowwwx
Everyone commenting on how they were so worried for Kim when she was telling off Lalo. I got a different vibe there. I actually think, even though Lalo may not have liked being talked to QUITE that way, that he realized she was making some good points. I think he came to appreciate and respect her after that. He may have thought she was a bit out of line in the WAY she said it, and may be a little angry with her for that part, but I think he sees she knows what she's talking about and may rethink the way he handles some things.
I agree. I think he realizes she is the brains in the family.
This episode almost gave me a heart attack lmao. Also Kim is totally in the game now.
The last scene was VERY reminiscent of the last scene of End Times in Breaking Bad where Walt was on the roof waiting to detonate the bomb. This time it was Mike on the roof with his sights on Lala. Both were so intense
Beardy McJ Lala? Is that Lalo’s gay doppelgänger?
I just caught something after watching this a second time. Mike's advice to Jimmy when he says you'll wake up eat breakfast and realize you haven't thought about it comes directly from the episode when his daughter-in-law realized she didn't think about Matty when she was making breakfast. The writing in this show is just absolutely brilliant
Yeah there are lots of parallels to previous episodes. The final scene is almost a beat by beat recreation of the moment in season 2 where Chuck confronts Jimmy and Kim defends him even when she knows he's lying.
Lalo: "Tell me what happened."
Jimmy: (tells story)
Lalo: "Tell me again."
Me: 😳
🛣🕳🔑
"Cool story, bro. Tell it again!"
With that smile..he is scarier than Gus when he smiles.
Nah
Damn that’s a horrifying thought
L theory
Can we take a moment and realize that tons of people skipped this show because they think it's boring LMAO they don't know what they're missing
I know, right?
For me Breaking Bad started way weaker than BCS tbh... first 2 seasons of BB didnt catch me that much. Dont get me wrong.. BB is the best show out there.. still!
But I loved BCS from the beginning!
People have shit attention spans and want the payoff without buildup. It's their loss.
I kept putting it away because I thought it's just another soulless cash grab aimed to cash in on BrBa's success.
Boy was I proven wrong.
As soon as Lalo shushed Kim, it was over. We saw the same thing with Kevin. She doesn't like to be told what to do and pushes back.
GIANT balls.
Lalo's introduction never seizes to make me laugh just because of how dark he's lit and he's like "HEY GUYS!" Still manages to be tense as fuck. Love this show!
U guys catch that the opening was a callback to season 4 episode 7, “Somethin Stupid” which is also the title of the song
Yes, I loved it🤩
Really crazy that the next episode is called Something Unforgivable
Mike has GPS on Nacho’s car (prob the gas cap as usual). That’s how he knew Lalo was back in ABQ and about to visit Jimmy. Mike and Gus will know that Nacho is going to Mexico unless they change cars or something.
Viktor was following them from the old age home(after lalo meets hector)
Jimmy doesn’t tell the true to Kim because he doesn’t want her to be involved anymore, and he doesn’t tell Lalo because in my opinion now he’s aware that there are “other people” watching him and they don’t want him to talk.
That is what i got from it too.
Jimmy cannot tell Lalo that Mike saved him, because Lalo hates Mike and that would reveal Gus' implication. Mike made sure Jimmy came up with a consistent story that would not betray his role in the whole thing.
Lalo is my favorite boss in this universe after Fring.
There was not a single wasted scene in this episode. NOT A SINGLE SCENE!
Side note: Nikki, your purple hair is really cool.
unlike the previous episode that showed ants eating sauls icecream cone....like, what was the point?...talk about a wasted scene
I probably subtracted 6 months off my life from that last scene by how much my heart was racing lol.
Worth it.
André Vila Franca its years later, plus he has to put on the happy attitude for his clients
Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, Jonathan Banks and Tony Dalton all deserve emmy nominations at the very least for this season
I wanted to see the Hector scene with the birthday hat😂
Yeah, he hated that so much
i laughed so hard at that scene. It's one of those funny but sad and tragic but then it's like nah he deserved that but then again like what about those good people who happens to be in that state and like ugh! This is such an amazing series
When Lalo said Saul married up, he had no idea
Kim deserves EVERYTHING good in the world
Almost had a heart attack this episode lol. I’ve never understood the notion that this show is not good because even if it’s a slow burn the payoff were seeing now in season 5 is totally worth it. It’s tough to admit for many but this show is creeping up on Breaking bad in my opinion, but who cares both shows are in the same universe. Vince Gilligan and his team are unbelievable they’ve created 2 of the greatest shows ever 💯
totally agree! I'm totally willing to sign a contract to pay for everything Vince Gilligan is going to do in the future :D

I started with BCS Seasons 1, 2 and 3 before watching whole BB for the first time by the time BCS Season 4 came out, so here I am
Artoria Pendragon that’s a good review
Artoria Pendragon just a note - Mike does not know the disappearer. Vince & Peter said on the podcast that the disappearer is the one thing Saul has in his pocket that Mike doesn’t & can’t know about. It’s protection for Saul _from_ Mike, if it were to come down to that.
Nice observation. Thought the same thing.
Also the way Gus talks about Nacho was definitely intentional. Then you have to remember what Lalo said about Nacho in prison.
Your intro song is so catchy lol
“When ur in, urine”😂 after seeing that improperly shown in the youtube subtitles, I can’t un-hear it while nacho says that line.
Also ur prob the best instant-react channel on YT👌🏻 keep up the good work
Ehh kiwi let's gooo !!!! Really dig the intro !!
Saul ends up in Nebraska, with the help of Ed.... Kim is originally from Nebraska 🤔 Thoughts? They both potentially end up in Nebraska.
Everything about this episode was perfect! Probably my favourite episode of the season. Dialogue was amazing!
No words to describe this episode. Literally a masterpiece.
the actress that portraits Kim... just awesome. So much feellings ... the writing genius too obviously, but her acting... my god. Rewatching the intro when she cries... so genuine ro relatable.. love her
So many many thoughts:
If he is honest with Lalo here, he's dead. If he slips up when lying, he's dead. If he doesn't slip up, he'll be lucky not to be dead.
23:57 "Just be honest with him"
What? You do realize what that entails, don't you? ..."So you were stopped and nearly killed... how did you get out?" "Oh, this friend of mine helped me." "Who is he?..."
Absolutely killed it
Always a pleasure to watch the show with you both. thanks and see you next week.
This season has been pretty great and also love your channel you guys make a great pair
Nacho: lalo wants me to burn down los pollos Hermanos
Gus: Do it. DO IT. May I take your order.
"thank you, drive through"
"It's acceptable"
I don't think that she will go the Ed route, because they've already done that with 3 characters in the universe (Saul, Walt, Jessie), and I think it would be too predictable for the writers to do that.
BTW, Steven - your choice of the shot of Lalo looking through the bullet hole for this episode's thumbnail is so perfect. You really are good and we appreciate all your hard work!
I love that "something stupid" has become Kim and Jimmy's song.
I was 100 percent sure that when Kim said „Jimmy“ to come to the door she would get shot by Lalo. This scene was so intense!
Yes me too! That was such a perfect shot for it!
@@RavenStillBeguiling No, I agree with you. I think you may be responding to the wrong person. I agree that they both made bad choices.
Jimmy's trauma triggers are always food related. like when the dude kept breaking so many bread sticks back in season one.
I love u guys, living this season with two beautiful people like you is so amazing to me thank you !! this season is a masterpiece btw WOW
the anxiety this episode brought me was too much for my heart to handle lol
*16:07** - **16:18** Parallels with Jimmy's PTSD when he saw a guy breaking breadsticks after seeing Tuco breaking legs.*
*18:26** - **18:42** Parallels with Stacy's talk when she said she started to forget thinking about Matty, her traumatic experience.*
*19:09** - **19:30** Parallels with Chuck's talk when he said "people don't change."*
The last scene parallels with the moment in season 2 where Chuck confronts Jimmy and Kim defends him even when she knows he's lying
@@Carlos-ln8fd Great catch!
Lalo usually smiles when talking to people but in this final scene there was no smile on his face.

I’ve been watching y’all’s reaction and watching BCS for the first time and since it’s been 4 years I haven’t commented but HOLY SHIT KIM WEXLER what a freaking beast that was awesome

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Just goes to show how TV Shows can be a lot better than movies. Pure quality. Pure ART.
Rhea Seehorn should win an Emmy for that episode! Stellar acting as always!
Kim not gonna die,get on the Kim lives train ,Steven
Amazing episode. The actors who portray Lalo & Kim definitely need to win an Emmy for their performances this season.
This is how good this show is: I was sill tense on that scene with Lalo even though I've already watched the show twice.
Lalo needs Kim in his organization. The last scene in episode 9 was basically a job interview for Kim.
I see a parallel between both Lalo and Jesse waiting to be picked up, realizing they've been duped, and going back, and their character's ensuing actions dramatically changing the course of the show.
Love that you guys are still doing this & staying good!
Just uploaded, but I can already feel the tension coming from you 2 as you watch that last scene.
Anyone here after finding out Rhea Seehorn and basically this show has been snubbed for an Emmy?
That’s so crazy. She was AMAZING this season.
