A saint of tenderness to nurture our cold hearts in this brutish time… God give us the warmth of Your love where we are numb and dead! Blessed Matushka Olga pray to God for us! 🙏🏼
Can someone write a book about her life please with all this information? We need more modern lives of saints for our example and edification. Roman Catholics are very good at doing this and we have a lot of catching up. Thank you for this interview!
Glory be to God! I first encountered an icon-like picture of Matushka Olga in the back of OCA cathedral in Minneapolis, some 15 years ago. I have prayed for her intercession when my daughter was pregnant with my granddaughter. These news bring me much joy. By the way, "matushka" in Russian means "dear mother" more than "little mother"; compare that to "babushka", which is "dear grandmother". It used to be appropriate to address any honorable woman that way, but now the name mostly stuck with presbyteras; these days, it's rare to address even one's own mother that way.
Can anyone talk about what fasting looks like for native Alaskans. I've wondered this many times because our family diet, much like their's, largely depends on animals and I've always wondered if their fasting looks any different from the "traditional" orthodox fasting. I've wondered also how this would apply to Mongolian nomads on the steppe.
Blessed lady Olga, pray for us so that God may heal our pain
Memory eternal, Fr. Michael! +

Thank you for this! I’m just discovering Orthodoxy for a yr now from my future son in law. I love Matushka Olga 😊
What a blessing St Olga is to the Church and to all our culture in this time of pain. Blessed “little mother” Olga, pray for us!
A wonderful interview. I learned more about Mat. Olga than what I have read online. Thank you so much.

Interesting question. Wish I knew..🤷♂️
Fathers didn’t teach them fasting, because of those reasons.
@@saka2456 is there any literature on this. I'm really interested.
