- Welcome travellers to another attempt of mine at making an update to this so-called Crash Bandicoot Bridges fan game, which took me a "few eternities," gotta admit.
While the update still isn't fully finished, if you're a pro and would like to speedrun this game as soon as possible, then there is an early version available down below.

Really glad to see this dev log series come back, love that this game is still being worked on!
One suggestion I have is to add support for the directional pad (d-pad, for short) on a controller; because of Crash's more linear "hallway" nature, using the left stick makes precision a bit harder since you can easily veer Crash toward a direction you don't want him to move in, meaning you end up falling off the side of the path.

The best Crash Bandicoot TH-camr is back!
A suggestion i have is making the protective mask different for each character.
Remember how you originally switched Aku Aku with Crash, so the bandicoot ended up being the mask? Well how about doing the same for each character?
Playing as Crash gives you Aku Aku mask, playing as Tikki Aku gives you Crash as a mask, and Pingun...

I'm not sure whether that would really suit my content type, but I can try my best to give you some of my insight here:
I really really began properly learning once I started doing online Unity/C# programming courses. (from the Udemy website in my case). This helped me go into the right direction as I had no idea of where to begin before. Note that this really takes some time and patience, but believe me, once you start seeing small progress and results, you're gonna get those much needed "dopamine spikes". I also started working on my custom projects, just for-fun stuff and that's gonna be a huge thing stepping away from the courses and doing your own projects. You're gonna stumble a lot and I mean A LOT, and that's a good thing, as you can find almost any answer on the internet (Even the greatest programmers use the internet for problem solving).
It's really important to keep experimenting, you don't want to get stuck by doing the same thing over and over again as that would really narrow your space for improvement. In my case I experimented by trying to make a PC 3D game, then a 2D game, then I challenged myself to try and make a game for mobiles, I even tried making a game for a VR lol. It doesn't have to be good straight away, heck it doesn't even need to be a finished product because that rarely happens. We learn and progress every day.
I would also like to add that it's not a good idea to start making a huge project right away as that might end up totally unfinished and may even frustrate the developer to a point where one would just give up on the game dev (in early stages of learning).
I took a similar approach with other programs I needed (personally) for game dev. (Editing/Modeling programs).
This was just my 2 cents on this topic and I hope I could have helped somehow. (others as well)

Your fangame had inspired me to make my very own fanmade bridge level via game builder garage!
The thunderclimb name is better than expected . It actually gave me an idea for a level where you have to manage difficult platforming with lightning . Similar to those levels in crash 1 i think were you use aku aku to light the room until the next aku aku pops up . My idea is that its a normal level with places to cover from the lightning , and you would have to leave when the lightning strike is over , and imagine a time trials version of this level would be insanely difficult .
Level 1: a bridge to nowhere
Level 2: the ruins of a bridge
Level 3: the most dangerous bridge on earth
