I have made 10 and of these hats for myself. I think they are wonderful. They keep my head cool in summer and absorb sweat 😓 I have also made some for my friends. 🌻🌻
Love it! Beautiful. Easy to understand. This project is great to do several ahead of time in many colors for gifts. Nice! Thank you for the wonderful video. Great skills.
Love your crafts, they are great for our summer weather here in vegas. I am going to start doing a few of these hat all different colors for our summer weather in august.
Thanks great tutorial, easy to follow! The hat looks like a complicated stitch but when you explained it I thought I can do this. Making it in black with a bright green border.
Thank you Katie...this tutorial was really easy to follow and is a beauriful pattern. I love how it turned out! Thank you for sharing one of many of your talents. :)
I did it. but being a 1st timer, beginner at crocheting, I only had wool yarn and it did not come out the same. But i love it.The vedio was easy to follow and help me alot. Next I will get cotton yarn and do it for my daughter
Can you tell me what is the size of this hat? How big around is your head? I have to ask because my head is larger haha. I am having troubles finding a pattern for a summer hat because of this. I got excited to see you're using yarn that I actually have, and it appears to work up pretty quickly, which is rad
awesome tutorial. Real easy to follow and I love how this pattern doesn't depend on strict stitch counts (Which i fail at constantly!) Thanks a lot for this video!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this and with easy to follow steps!! I need thin slouchy hats to cover up bad spots on wigs I wear and I could never find an easier pattern! Oh! How long did it take you to finish one hat?
Do you have a summer santa hat tutorial? I was thinking of using this basic pattern in red, the single crochet in white then adding a white pompom on the end. What do you think?
I just found this! I have that exact yarn, and I have been looking for a head covering for the summer. Bandanas always look funky on me, lol. Does this wear well or stretch too much etc? I haven’t worked with cotton for a hat yet. This is really lovely, and honestly beautifully vintage-looking 😊
The cotton does tend to loosen up as you wear. Like a pair of jeans. Washing will return it but cotton yarn usually washes poorly over time. Poly -cottom blends wash better with a cotton like look and feel. This particular hat is 100% cotton and I just wear it loose. I don't really want a snug hat during summer anyway.
I have made several of these and donated them to the cancer center where I go. I love how easy it is!! My question is, have you ever used more than one color to make this? If so, did you like it and how did you do the striping? Thanks!
Kathy Hendershott I have only made this one in solid color. To make stripes you could change color every 3-4 rows or so. You can also use variegated yarn to make it more than one color. The Ravelry page for this pattern shows some made with variegated yarn but none with stripes. HTH www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/slouchy-summer-hat/people
She doesn’t seem to have this channel anymore. I would say to make it more snug then decrease every 4 stitches or so. You can look on TH-cam on how to decrease. 🌻🌻

I really like this.
Hello. What size head will this hat fit?
Can you please show how to crochet a snood
great video! How do I sized it down for a child with a 22" diameter head size?
did you see my reply on facebook?
I did! Thanks for your quick reply! I'll follow the pattern for the adult size first to see how it fits and then work on the smaller one.
Hi,
My Mom like this beanie 👍
It doesn't snug up to the head. How do I fix that?
She doesn’t seem to have this channel anymore. I would say to make it more snug then decrease every 4 stitches or so. You can look on TH-cam on how to decrease. 🌻🌻
Bello gracias
The circumference of the band is too big on my head. How can I make it fit without undoing the whole thing?? I
made it. used a size j hook it is too large. I guess i should use an I hook since my stiches are tight tension
Audie Siegel yes, a smaller hook would help. I used a size H hook.
super
Well, its to big and no directions on reducing! I'll try again stopping at 4! I hope this works or 3 hours wasted!
Lovely pattern but your teaching skills not very great.. I struggled to follow and your fingers are in the way often
