      Bart didn't actually say that. Homer was imagining Bart as an anchor telling him percentage of something else besides growing his own son's out of The Monorail. One of the many reasons why old Homer is better than the new 1. This version of Homer is dumb enough to imagine his son as an anchor, but smart enough to realise that wasn't a good idea at the last minute.

    It's quite impressive that Leonard Nimoy was able to snatch and pull Krusty back into the train with one hand while the train is speeding through the air like a bullet. Must be his vulcan strength.

    • @Neondarkness72
      @Neondarkness72 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fenrirsrage4609 Some of his psychotic acts can be SEMI-excused by the fact that he very clearly has ADHD, and could be counted as being purely impulsive, but a whole bunch of the stuff he does is just outright evil. He's not a good person, as much as the show loves to glorify his good moments.

    • @BethHarmon-yh8ms
      @BethHarmon-yh8ms 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Neondarkness72 Bart can definitely act like a malicious brat, but calling him a psycho is going a little overboard, at least the Bart from the 90's.
      There's nothing wrong with the show demonstrating that Bart has a heart of gold and can show it when he wants, he may be a spoiled brat at times, he still has quite a few admirable qualities about him.
      Don't forget Bart is a kid too, plus he doesn't exactly have the best of role models in his life (Homer, while he may love his kids, is hardly the ideal parent).

    • @Neondarkness72
      @Neondarkness72 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BethHarmon-yh8ms "At least the Bart from the 90's" is an important factor here. I'm not restricting myself to that. In the newer episodes, he is just outright evil much of the time. There's literally an episode where he sees skinner being prepped for dental work, already on the laughing gas and woozy, and Bart shoves a giant plastic tooth into his mouth, kicks it several times, shoves the little water hose in there as well and turns it on, and then places an x-ray machine directly in front of his crotch and tells him not to move for 20 minutes. He's literally, knowingly, attempting to give another human being cancer. There is no justification for that sort of behavior. There's probably moments in the early seasons where he also does evil things, but that just sticks out in my mind as a prime example.

    • @BethHarmon-yh8ms
      @BethHarmon-yh8ms 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Neondarkness72 There's a reason I don't watch the newer episodes....the writers have turned the characters from lovable losers with flaws like everyone else to selfish, irredeemable pricks.
      Bart was always a brat but he did have his good, sweet moments. Then they turned him into the cartoon version of the MacCaulkey Culkin character in The Good Son (though he doesn't kill a dog, though he might get there eventually one day).
      Lisa was always the intellectual, sensitive one, but now she's shrill, demanding, picks a fight with anyone who didn't agree with her views. While it's true she could be a bit overbearing with some of her beliefs (when she became a vegetarian for example), she at least knew that her methods of making a point could cross a line and she admitted when she was wrong. Not so much anymore nowadays.
      Homer was always a selfish, idiotic dolt, but he at least still loved his family and still had a bit of heart to him, and tried to do the right thing, even if it wasn't.. Now he's more like Peter Griffin, picking on his kids (usually Bart), and just outright mean.
      Even the other characters have changed for the worse (Ned has become more of a religious zealous rather than the good-natured Christian neighbor he started out as for example). I hate that Apu was sacrificed in the name of political correctness, but on the other hand he probably would have been ruined along with everyone else.
      Marge and Maggie maybe the only ones who have stayed the same but that's not enough to justify the show staying on the air.
      As far as I'm concerned the Simpsons ended after season 10. I won't watch the newer ones anymore after seeing how the show has gone so tragically downhill.

    Bart: Think harder Homer
    Also Bart: DAD YOU'RE A HERO
    Over 25 years that I have been watching this particular episode, and I just realized that there is a bit of a meta-joke in here. Setting aside that Nimoy actually manages to pull Krusty back into the train as the monorail is pretty much at full speed, Homer makes the comment about how Batman is a scientist. And wow Batman may have scientific Acumen he is not known as a scientist character per se( unlike say modern interpretations of Barry Allen). However the character that Nimoy is most closely associated with IS a scientist, which brings us to Barney's comment about "you didn't do nothing". I know we probably shouldn't read too much into this because it is a cartoon but wouldn't it be funny if Nimoy was actually playing Spock in human disguise 🤔
