Dough
Plain yogurt 60g / 1/4cup
Fresh milk 30ml / 2Tbsp
Egg whites 1 / 40g+-
Sugar 2.5g / 1tsp
Salt 2.5g / 1/2tsp
Plain flour 175g / 1,1/4cup
Baking powder 5g / 1/2Tbsp
Softened butter 40g / 3Tbsp
Filling
Apple 1 / 200g+-
Lemon juice 1tsp
Butter 15g / 1Tbsp
Brown sugar 10g / 1.5Tbsp
Honey 10g / 1/2Tbsp
Cinnamon powder 2g / 1tsp
Glazing
Egg yolk 1
Fresh milk 1tsp
Bake at 200°C / 390°F for 17-20 minutes

@@ourforeignlife I don't think it will be very tasty when fried. It is better to bake the dough outside to make it crispy. otherwise it will be too oily

My mom makes this often! We watched the video together and fell in love with the shape. But my mom was scoffing at the amount of filling 😂 we also thought it might be a good idea to keep the dough thinner since it wraps around the filling several times.

Yes your mom is right. I made this recipe and I was upset. Not enough filling for the dough even I add more. It tested nothing . The crust like bread more than pie but look very attractive.

They looked so delicious and I couldn't wait to cook. They turned out to be great apple pies. Even though I'm living in Turkey, I've never seen this shape before in my life.
I also should say that the flour amount needs to be increased; as with 175 gr of flour, it's much more hydrated and harder to handle than that in the video. I used 225 gr and it was fantastic.
My parents are turkish and have made this for me since i was a kid, however mum has never made it look this nice! The filling was slapped between two balls of dough like a snowman and it ended up looking like a drunk ufo when cooked. This looks so much better!

I was planning on making a strawberry bouquet for my mom on Mother’s Day and these are perfect to add in too, they look just like flowers. Just add some skewers and edible paint dust and YUMMY. Thank you!

@@eceturan7819 Hi! I admit that I had to do a couple of test runs to get the size right, but it came out so good. Ultimately I ended up cutting the dough into 12 pieces and bought thicker skewers with a base at the top to support the weight. Thank you so much for asking 😁. I hope you had a nice Mother’s Day.

I've made this recipe three times now. It's just awesome. But I started using the dough to make ten pieces instead of six. The apple is enough for ten pieces, so it is not too dry because of the thick dough around it. Thanks for this wonderful recipe 🥰🙏

The instructions are very accurate, not always the case with TH-cam recipes. Mine turned out almost the same, and I hardly ever make pastry. Will try out more of her stuff.
For me the more apple filling and the less pastry is always the best.

You may want to use less dough per cookie. Roll out a smaller round dough, put the filling in one half and close and seal the other half. Search for "elmalı kurabiye" in Google Images for many ideas.

Looks delicious. Great work. Just a little caution. Heating honey is supposed to be very unhealthy. Perhaps it can be added after the stuffing cools down or maybe just use coconut sugar.
