I’m so glad you liked Flowers for Algernon even if you didn’t cry! I definitely did though, to the point that I had to stop reading towards the end because I physically couldn’t see the letters through my tears 😂 I agree with you that it’s a book that shows a lot of compassion towards disabled people (and people in general).
@ I know where you’re coming from, I’m not the biggest reader of “hard” sci-fi either! But I did like this book because the futuristic concept was just a tool to explore interesting topics that are perfectly timeless. So instead of giving up on the entire genre it might be better to just be a little more picky.
