With all the small engine projects you guys have done Im a little surprised I haven't seen any experiments with 2 strokes. Doubt Harbor Freight sells any, but I think that could be an interesting development.
Why did you guys take off the Tillotson? Is it not a good carb? I'm curious because I just ordered one as an upgrade to the stock carb on my Coleman. I'm going to be disappointed if my upgrade, isn't really an upgrade...
Da Ca did you miss the whole college part? Dude was learning. Probably the first time he ever machined anything. Hence the price. If you don't expect a crap shoot taking it to a school then your disappointment is your own doing. That's why they aren't upset about it.
Warman is spot on - if your machine shop is returning work like that, fire them. Oh and I wanted to compliment ya'll on finally getting some decent background music. Jeezus it's about time - spend ALL THAT DOUGH on cameras and cars and cars and cameras but no music. LOL!!! Great work you guys. Always something fun on your channel. Keep it up!
Incredible, Issac made it to the present times. Great video guys, I could tell that thing was ripping, can’t wait to see you guys bring it to buscoe beach.
make sure you compensate for the amount of material taken off the head and take that difference out of the pushrods as well leaving the pushrods stock with change the angle at wich they push on the rockers and the angle at wish the rockers push on the valvestems , basicly it wears out faster it be good but for testing purposes only better put some of that asbestos tape over the exhaust allso do the headwork before shaving the head , that way if you put a scratch in the surface with the dremel the machinist can shave it enough to remove it or weld the scratch and shave it after that
Nice showing what 60 "thou" actually looks like. aka 60 thousandths of an inch. Metric is so much easier. lol Incredible all the knowledge you show on these things. Like the RoadKill Garage of the lawnmower engine world. ;) That bike looks awesome and now PERFORMS. Downright Dangerous.. hell yeaah!
Watching you guys is like watching myself, except you have a much nicer shop :) I did port and polish on a set of 305 heads for a small block chevy I built, used steel shim gaskets, and copper sealant too. I love that stuff.
do you guys ever figure out your compression ratio's after you reduce the combustion chamber? If you got it up enough you could rum ethanol, or methanol, for a big power gain(depending on a/f ratio and spark advance curve.......also JOHN: your editing is getting a butt-load better...love the "fancy-swipes" of your video's (dragster build series also do you guys ever check valve to piston clearance?....with "play dough..or equivalent? awesome jobs/builds you guys have !!! O_O
DId you gasket match port the head too? Nice job I always love porting intakes and exhausts. VERY nerve racking but very satifying.....specially when you do it your self for FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.060" is just .0025" from 1/16th of an inch of that clears it up for some. I'm a machinist by trade .060" is ALOT in my world. I work with tolerances of +-.0003".
Today I was talking to one of my friends and we were talking about making go karts and he just turned to me and said “why don’t they just make a single cylinder engine? Like it would save so much space on a go kart.” Needless to say he is not much of a car guy/ engine guy(?). Just thought that was kinda funny
You guys always do all this awesome machine work with the head apart but never shave the eybrows! It's easy and gives more power while everything is already taken apart! It increases valve flow. Keep up the awesome videos some of the best on youtube!
Isaac. Be sure to tell John how to counter steer a bike so you don’t whack a tree on these bikes now that they’re getting quicker. I’m assuming you know what’s up. And he doesn’t. (Sorry John.) this might be a wasted comment, because you might know this already but I like ya fellas and want to see you continue to have fun and stay safe. Later dudes!
While I'm ardently against using sandpaper as a machine tool, if you absolutely have to, you want to randomize the cutting you do as to keep the material removal even. Draw an 8 pattern, it'll keep your machining more even.
Hey guys! Just curious, I've noticed how you usually use stock spark plugs in your toys, have you ever thought about using those "DIAMOND FIRE E3" spark plugs? I use them in all my personal yard equipment and believe me, they do increase the horse power some and they also save on fuel!! Trust me, they are worth the money!!
I love it , I have had dirt bikes go carts and mini bikes . But I love mini bikes a close second is a z50 ,that's why Iam excited about trail 70 boo ya keep up the good work guys awesome job ! Have a great day. Keith
TIP!! Use a butterfly to help you smooth your work. Take a piece of round stock. Then cut a slit in the center of the end. Wrap some 1 inch wide sandpaper around that shaft. Rotate and insert.
Hemi head has canted valves. Non Hemi head has a wedge chamber. Canted valves are good for flow, but lead to piston to valve clearance issues with high compression and high lift cams. Wedge shaped chambers with inline valves can become shrouded, especially with larger than stock valves.
You guys gotta do something crazy to it that you might not have done on anything else yet! Smog pump supercharge it? That would probably make a ton of power.
You could invest in some valve seat cutters or let a machine shop put you a nice 3 angle valve job on the head. The valve seat plays a huge role in flow and the head. The stock valve job, especially on cheap engines, is usually pretty basic. Sometimes you can even fit slightly larger valves on the stock seat by moving the angle that seals the valve more to the outside of the valve seat.
GUYS, TAKE THIS THING TO BUSCO BEACH AND RIP UP SOME TRAILS!! this thing is good to go, im totaly confident in this thing ripping through the trails out there.
I just bought a gx160 14cc head from Everest Parts Supplies for about $25 shipped and added a performance gasket. It does need polishing but as is it revs super nice matched up to a CS Grind cam.
This thing is wicked! It desperately needs a pitbike 1/4 turn throttle on it though, it looked like you were having to turn it really far for full throttle
3:45 as I understand it, hemi - hemispherical means the combustion chamber is a hemisphere, ie half a sphere, so, you may find the that the HEMI has a deeper dish than the non-HEMI, I thought I could see that from the video. This would give the inside of the dish a larger surface are also and move the plug away from the inlet port ;0) BTW I collect information and share. I love you videos and am trying not to sound critical. :0D PS I'm an Engineer/Mechanic ;0)
I like how Ike has to explain that 60 thou is alot, especially when talking about motors nowadays..... I remember working on old cars and leaving tools and stuff under the hood but if you don't put the hood latch in the right place when you close the hood on a new car then your whole hood bends in half. LoL
Great build. I think a Chinese diesel clone engine would make an awesome project. They usually go for $800 on eBay. Try to roll as much coal as possible. Just a thought that I think people would enjoy.
Isaac it'll be fine well then I guess it's a good thing I already have the non Hemi block then I'm waiting on the torque wrench to come from Harbor Freight in the mail I've already got the Billet aluminum flywheel and connecting rod just waiting on torque wrench to make sure I get it all to spec also got the 26-pound valve springs with the Chromoly Push rods and the mikuni Style 22 mm carburetor from hotrodminibike.com should make some pretty decent power
C&C just keeps getting better and better. Better production quality and content. A+
From button phone to galaxy s8 crazy
With all the small engine projects you guys have done Im a little surprised I haven't seen any experiments with 2 strokes. Doubt Harbor Freight sells any, but I think that could be an interesting development.
For future reference: when sanding heads, place the sandpaper on a mirror or sheet of glass and sand in a figure 8 motion
Swan Donovan I always use sandpaper soaked in WD-40
yeah. not a bad idea to use some kind of lubricant. water, oil, whatever
Or don't sand the head at all....
Unless it's iron
Blake Fain did you not watch the video? There was a ridge in it. And sometimes you need to remove nicks in the gasket / sealing surface
It's seriously nutty😂
CarsandCameras this thing is better than a KTM 😅
CarsandCameras isn’t it faster than the dragster?
Race its agianst the original minibike or the drag minibike😂
So when the fooook is the Velocity Channel thing gonna show?
Why did you guys take off the Tillotson? Is it not a good carb? I'm curious because I just ordered one as an upgrade to the stock carb on my Coleman. I'm going to be disappointed if my upgrade, isn't really an upgrade...
The machine shop deliver it with a ridge? Get a new machine shop.
Listen to Ikr st the end and he says something about it was no charge and college so like the saying you get what you pay for.......
Da Ca did you miss the whole college part? Dude was learning. Probably the first time he ever machined anything. Hence the price. If you don't expect a crap shoot taking it to a school then your disappointment is your own doing. That's why they aren't upset about it.

I meant dished!
dished, domed, it'll be fine...
Anymore details on velocity show???
I noticed that. I thought, "low compression with a big domed piston?"
Oh, by the way, I'll sure miss seeing the flip phone on video. I guess I'll just have to keep rockin' mine.
I love my Galaxy S8+
Incredible, Issac made it to the present times. Great video guys, I could tell that thing was ripping, can’t wait to see you guys bring it to buscoe beach.
You boys are one hell of a team. Been watching a few months now, Great channel and great work boys. Cheers from eh TV
Thanks!
so glad you guys did this. I ported and polished the head on our 301. I notice an increase but need a mikuni.
You guys have been rocking it on these last couple builds congratulations you guys freaking awesome work
make sure you compensate for the amount of material taken off the head and take that difference out of the pushrods as well

watahyahknow, Bingo I was just getting ready to type that info, Great minds think alike !!!!!
11:25 he called that ROOSTER a Turkey. Lol
I love these guys sense of humour. Seems it went over your head?
Nice showing what 60 "thou" actually looks like. aka 60 thousandths of an inch.

Like the RoadKill Garage of the lawnmower engine world. ;) That bike looks awesome and now PERFORMS.
Downright Dangerous.. hell yeaah!
Can't leave John out he's learning like a champ you have a good reach buddy
u guys should do a tournament with all your builds to see what position they are
Watching you guys is like watching myself, except you have a much nicer shop :) I did port and polish on a set of 305 heads for a small block chevy I built, used steel shim gaskets, and copper sealant too. I love that stuff.
Also...I love the "SRV-esque" music....really cool !!!
do you guys ever figure out your compression ratio's after you reduce the combustion chamber? If you got it up enough you could rum ethanol, or methanol, for a big power gain(depending on a/f ratio and spark advance curve.......also JOHN: your editing is getting a butt-load better...love the "fancy-swipes" of your video's (dragster build series also do you guys ever check valve to piston clearance?....with "play dough..or equivalent?
awesome jobs/builds you guys have !!! O_O
Thanks Bryan. We never checked valve clearance-- good idea for next time we have the engine apart
we have checked in the past just not lately. lol
@@CarsandCameras Don't worry about it guys, it'll be fine !!!!!!!
13:03 My mouth hung open. Epic jump Isaac!
DId you gasket match port the head too?
Nice job I always love porting intakes and exhausts. VERY nerve racking but very satifying.....specially when you do it your self for FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're Rock'n it boys ! I'm love'n you're work, please keep it coming.
You guys r funny and work well together. Keep it up.
I read the thumbnail three times as Head Crab...Dammit Half-life.
Damn Ike was cooking!
You guys always do all this awesome machine work with the head apart but never shave the eybrows! It's easy and gives more power while everything is already taken apart! It increases valve flow. Keep up the awesome videos some of the best on youtube!
What is going on with the coffin kart ?
Malte Weiß Halloween gag
I love this Chanel. Y'all should get a bike motor one with like a 19k red liner rpm and build another vintage dragster..

Okay, if your machine shop leaves a ridge from cutting the head...you need a new machine shop. Love what you guys do, keep on doing it.
I appreciate that I have not heard you guys cuss on any of the vids I've see as of yet.
Good content boys, good content.
RudyRay AAW Their mom would put a hurting on them if they did, lol.
Ikes a better than average mechanic he figured out that model a or t which ever one but figured out that spark like a champ
Sweet stuff!!! Welcome to the 21st century haha! When are we gonna see that CT70!?!?!?!
While I'm ardently against using sandpaper as a machine tool, if you absolutely have to, you want to randomize the cutting you do as to keep the material removal even. Draw an 8 pattern, it'll keep your machining more even.

Me and my mate I'm making a 212 go-kart and I worked on little Motors before but you guys make it look easy it's really hard
TIP!! Use a butterfly to help you smooth your work. Take a piece of round stock. Then cut a slit in the center of the end. Wrap some 1 inch wide sandpaper around that shaft. Rotate and insert.
I’m brand new but these people are frickin awesome
Edit: just realized I was replied to, I feel special 😁😁
Loren Vocks Welcome!
thanks
This bike looks awesome, you guys did a great team job. :-) Hey Ikes happy new phone bro finally!!!!! Jajajajajja
All I’m gonna say is WOW💨🔥👍🏾
That thing is a beast.
Sooo happy he didn’t choose a Crapple iPhone , good choice bro.
thanks
Sounding more like a 4 banger motorX bike than a mini bike awesome
U can hear a difference in the exhaust
great video guys.....as always
Are you guys doing a Christmas special this year just watched last years was really funny
Watch those valve seats! You can get almost a 100hp gain porting and polishing heads on a small block Chevy!
Any chance you could take it with the "Badd A" to the drag strip next time?
Hemi head has canted valves. Non Hemi head has a wedge chamber. Canted valves are good for flow, but lead to piston to valve clearance issues with high compression and high lift cams. Wedge shaped chambers with inline valves can become shrouded, especially with larger than stock valves.
You guys gotta do something crazy to it that you might not have done on anything else yet! Smog pump supercharge it? That would probably make a ton of power.
Great video guys, love it!
And a black isky cam and dual valve springs would be perfect 😎
Great job guys!

HEY! You guys are almost up to 400k subs!! We need a special treat when you break that in a few days! :D
Congrats ike
What advice can you give to a first timer, porting and polishing a head? Looks like awesome fun. Thankyou for sharing.
oh coolz, i wanna see this thing rip some trails and mud!
Put a turbo on it next. That would be cool! :)
This thing is wicked! It desperately needs a pitbike 1/4 turn throttle on it though, it looked like you were having to turn it really far for full throttle

Awesome bike
I have a real joy in my heart cause Ike got a new phone. Lol
SOOOOOOOO freaking COOL!
You guys should seriously consider adding seafoam to your "regular work" you do to junkers. Might help a lot, and hey maybe sponsorship lol
What a beauty!
Waiting to see the race between the "Trail BLASTER" and the Kawasaki!
I like how Ike has to explain that 60 thou is alot, especially when talking about motors nowadays..... I remember working on old cars and leaving tools and stuff under the hood but if you don't put the hood latch in the right place when you close the hood on a new car then your whole hood bends in half. Scary fast! Oh yea!
Been waiting since 9
Wish I knew this stud removal trick yesterday
Remember a bigger intake valve needs a larger carb. And a big block carb is a good next step with that big valve head.
amazing videos
Wednesdays are my favorite
For a channel named cars and cameras...I sure haven't seen alot of cars lately
*Karts and Cameras
LMAO
Can't wait to see the rematch at busco beach with the Kawasaki
Welcome to the present!
Great build. I think a Chinese diesel clone engine would make an awesome project. They usually go for $800 on eBay. Try to roll as much coal as possible. Just a thought that I think people would enjoy.
that is a bad ass mini bike
Shaving that metal with no gloves? Yikes. But that thing ROLLS
That is so awesome
That’s sick! Love it so when do I get to ride it? Lol 😂
Looks like y'all have so much fun... How did you guys get together doing this ?
It looks like a yamaha bigwheel off roading there :)
i'd consider both heads HEMIspherical. i put my jug on a lathe and cut 1mm off the end after measuring valve to piston clearance with playdough/clay
dude holly shit that thing is fast thanks for showing me how to port & polish the heads and also showing me that i can turn a non hemi into a hemi
i havent tried it yet nut you probably want the non hemi head on the hemi block. we will try it on a futute build
Isaac it'll be fine what's the reason you're doing that I always thought the Hemi was better?
spikeman dan more compression more power
Isaac it'll be fine well then I guess it's a good thing I already have the non Hemi block then I'm waiting on the torque wrench to come from Harbor Freight in the mail I've already got the Billet aluminum flywheel and connecting rod just waiting on torque wrench to make sure I get it all to spec also got the 26-pound valve springs with the Chromoly Push rods and the mikuni Style 22 mm carburetor from hotrodminibike.com should make some pretty decent power
I have deen watching the trailmaster videos. Been having trouble trying to find a playlist though
gets the head ported and shaved but does loads of work to it as soon as it gets back
0:37 ikes voice: common mainnn
I got a stock 212 with a comet torque converter on my bike. She does 46 on the Dot, on a good hot day.
