    in this session the fishing was very hard going but Kurt put us on the spot 👌.

    I worked on an Icelandic long line fishing boat , 250 tons . 27 Kilometers of line 30 ,000 hooks , fishing in costal waters . 5 days , 60 tons .Cod , Haddock .Steinbeisser .

    Couple of lovely ling there mate. You're right as well, bringing a ling up from that depth, it'll blow it's swim bladder and never go back. I've found a lot of the really big cod won't go back, even from 60/70 metres and gassed out before landing. It's a shame, but that's just the way it is.

      I had someone have a pop at us for killing such a specimen. Like chopping off the branch your stood on . I would have loved to get a photo and release them back safe and sound . Instead it will feed us for a while to come

    I think using a fixed spool reel on such fish is optimistic

      It's a big heavy duty reel . I've used it for shark fishing

    Your tackle appears a little light ! You 're not fishing for roach on the Thames .
