Hey Man thanks for the video- did you " tap" the green and red wire w/ the key 1 wire? Or did you actually cut said green and red wire away from the blue connecting end and just splice the two wires together?
Hi, isn't there also a key 2 cable to connect the mute button to? by connecting the green-red cable to key 1, can't the push mode and ch keys also be configured for other uses? Thank you
Does your volume buttons stop working after your car is turned off and back on? This happens to me and to fix it I have to remap the volume buttons again in steering wheel controls
It’s always worked for me. I can see that happening if it loses all power to the head unit. Everything else stays how it was like the time, radio presets, things like that?
Curious if anyone is having issues with the apple car play phone calls? I tried to use it several times and it sounds horrible. I am wondering if anyone is having this issue…
We have two joying units in our vehicles and we haven’t had any issues with that. On our end it sounds great. Sometimes on the other end people say it sounds like we are far away. It might be something simple by just getting a higher quality mic.
In the video and the description, I put what I had to do. Connect key 1 from the stereo to pin 3 from the vehicle and then program the actions in the head unit.
@@FRS2K awesome. Thank you bro. I just got my first S2k I’ve always wanted one ! Was hoping i could integrate the dash controls when i get a head unit. Awesome video.
THANKS SO MUCH! i was also frustrated about the volume slider on this head unit. WORKS!!
Yeah it’s crazy how something so simple makes such a huge difference. Glad the video was able to help.
Damn our S2k's are very similar. I have the same fenders, wing, and hardtop!
Great minds!
I don't mind watching you toggle your switch, as I am also toggling my switch while watching you toggle your switch.

I spliced the key 1 wire directly into the green wire with a red stripe.
When i saw wire nuts being used in your install I immediately shut this off.

@@FRS2K it actually works now even after car is turned off and back on! Even the mute button works
do you know if this is the same wiring in the ap2 2005?
I would assume so. I would look up the wiring schematics for the radio in ap2’s.
😂 glad you figured it out.
Me too! Lol it’ll be so much more convenient now!

Did you have to connect the key and canbus in or out plugs together?

Appreciate that! Congrats on the S2k! It was always my “realistic” dream car and I’ll never get rid of mine.
