Hidden gem of a video, im also huge on conservative looks, my 02 rsx type s was one of a kind in my opinion, i did 05 front end conversion, mesh grill delete, trimmed the rear bumper, installed civic si type seats, spacers with 05 type s wheels so they are flush with the fenders, with suspension to my liking, diy correct intake, custom resonator with my full 3inch exhaust, all badges deleted but if i had it back again id put custom conservative ones on. I loved that car so much especially because i had so many people that would come talk to me and appreciate my build versus my stock 98 civic they all vanished of course. Nice to see like minded foe
I recently went with the same setup as you, but modifry also sent me the joying swc programing instructions. You wouldn't happen to still have the instructions for the blaupunkt models would you?
So sad Modifry stopped making the kit for the Blaupunkt... I was waiting for several months for him to make more and I checked his site 2-3x a month and the dates for "availability" get pushed back and now all gone lol
Glad you got your adapter because Modifry is closing down soon and not restocking any new items. Better hurry and get anything else they offer for the S2000.
You think the blaupunkt frankfurt rcm 82 dab would also fit? the volume knob is less deep than the Bremen and i don't think it needs the door mod. It also has BT 5.0
A few people have told me that if you play around with the mounting bracket you actuslly dont need to trim the door. Im not familiar with the rcm 82. I will say that ive had the bremen for a while now and i absolutely love it
Key factor is that the door needs modifying for the radio door to shut flush? Is that correct? You need to modify the radio door inner plastics correct?
when i did this install i thought that you had to trim the door. since i posted this video, a few people have told me that you can get it to fit without having to trim the door. ive already cut mine so i never tested repositioning the mount. pls report back if you get it to fit without trimming the door lol. apparently all you have to do is adjust the placement of the mount on the radio
@zaahidrahman , thanks for getting back to me and your great contribution to the S2k's community. Keep it up. This radio is great. Also tempted to the absolute electronix kit. But i think the S2k is something raw and that's why we loved it so much. Cheers
What instructions did Modifry forget to send you so I don't make the same mistake? I have the harness, DCI and SCV from Modifry that I'll be hooking up with the Blaupunkt Frankfurt RCM 82
Can you change the lighting colour on this headunit? Always been curious about it for my own car (not a Honda S2000 sadly) and my car has orange dash lights and the original headunit lights up orange to match
@@zaahidrahman sweet, orange will do me just fine- fits the late 90’s early 2000’s aesthetic and mimics an OEM looking radio for me (my cars a SEAT, which is a European subsidiary of VW) and funnily enough, Blaupunkt did all of the OEM stuff for Volkswagen, it’s a shame the company Grundig doesn’t make radios anymore.
Did you disconnect the stock tweeter ? Tweeters are supposed to be mounted at ear level so if you disconnect the stock tweeter and use the new speaker's tweeter instead then sound quality isn't optimized.
With installing the Kicker speakers and reinstalling the stock tweeter, how’s the sound with this setup? Guessing you still get some highs from the oem tweeter location then a little bump in sound from new coaxial? Thanks for info!
@@zaahidrahman thanks! You still get highs out of the stock tweeters then plugged back into stock harness? Plus the added sound quality of new the 2 ways?
Ive owned multiple S2000s over the last 5 years and never used the dash controls 😂. Does one need the Modifry DCI to get the headunit to work or can it be bypassed?
To be honest, im not sure... It seems like it would be a real bitch to slice up the stock wiring harness to the new head unit. I wouldve stayed stock if that was my only option.
Yeah I agree, it's too much a of a risk to splice into the oem wiring. Too bad the Blaupunkt harness is no longer available from Modifry. I may just have to go basic and upgrade my speakers like you lolol.
i did have to trim the door to clear the dial but unfortunately i didnt have time to add it to this video. ill go over the details in the next video but basically you just have the trim the card slot thing on the left side of the inner door.
@@zaahidrahmanlol I remember saying I’ll buy it next week and now it’s a year. My loss. It’s all good but the OCD in me drives me crazy not having OEM+

This is great, I have the same gripe with most aftermarket headunits as well. But this one just fits the car so much better.
100% agree - technically not period correct but whatever the reason - this 80s/90s style headunit fits this dash better
This is absolutely incredible... wow...

Thats a bummer! Might be other options out there
Hey, if you didn’t get the SCV wiring kit, you should really jump on that too! The benefit of the DCI is not optimized without it!! Trust me.
Glad you got your adapter because Modifry is closing down soon and not restocking any new items. Better hurry and get anything else they offer for the S2000.
Yeah lucky timing! Really hope someone buys Modifry and keeps things going
This is a nice head unit but period correct for an s2000 is either OEM or an ugly alpine or kenwood unit with blue LEDs
Nah he is right it goes good with the car

my order was missing a little paper with the blaupunkt specific wiring instructions. you likely wont have that issue
Ah, thanks! Looking forward to seeing what you do next Zaahid.
How does the speakers sound?
@@S2KV definitely better than factory lol. Cant really say much more than that since i havent experienced a proper set up with an amp in an s2000

That DCI adapter from modifry is already sold out and wont be in stock again, is there any alternative that can be used for it?
