Damn, what an awesome video! Glad to see that you enjoyed the data pack as much as you did too. Got a lot more stuff planned for future updates (including some of the suggestions you mentioned), and I honestly couldn't be more excited about that (1.4 especially, which I know is a bit weird to say when I'm working on 1.3 rn, but I think if you knew, it would make a lot more sense). Anyways, happy to see that this video is doing so well, more than deserved! Also, that thumbnail belongs in a museum lol, seriously amazing stuff
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video! I’m super excited for what’s to come in the future for Roguecraft and I’ll definitely make more videos as soon as the updates come out
And that is a nice mod, a juicy combination of Risk of Rain with a Meta progression also the gameplay loop of this mod is also nice the way you incentivized to farm for skill points while live so that after the death you can spend them. Also what would be nice is to have a bit of hades with overheat mechanics that give great rewards with increased difficulty.
Hi, I'm the lead artist for Roguecraft 👋 It's great to see you enjoy the pack, and I hope you stay around for future updates, because holy hell do we have a lot of cool stuff planned! (6 more entirely custom bosses :O) I definitely agree with you that the difficulty and balancing are a little wack at the moment, because in the early game you can easily survive DL20+ if you're careful, and in the lategame, the difficulty level just doesn't matter at all. I believe Mono wants to overhaul the Difficulty Level system in a future update, so hopefully this won't be as much of an issue by then. For some context on the dragon name; the dragon fight was originally a standalone datapack made for an SMP called Libercraft, and on that server the dragon's name got more and more ridiculous with every phase. My guess is that Mono only removed the code that changed the bossbar name, but didn't remove the code that set the name of the dragon entity.
I’m definitely looking forward to the updates! This datapack has been a really fun time for me. The dragon name stages were certainly very interesting haha
i wonder if mono (or their team if applicable) could add custom toggles for tool settings that could integrate with mods that alter early-game progression, so that it could work as seamlessly as it may and make roguecraft even tougher for those who wish to use such mods
Suggestions for making the game harder, and ideally inevitable: 1. Getting skill points adds 5% each to the difficulty timer. This would both incentivize holding onto the craftables, which opens risk of dying without having done so, and makes it a lot harder to 2-try the gamemode, which is currently pretty easy. 2. For every skill point spent, start with 4% of a difficulty bar filled. This means the early period isn't completely trivial after just one decent run. 3. Difficulty levels give stacking potion effects as well as better gear, particularly speed, resistance, and regeneration, to non-boss mobs. This does apply to boss summons, but not the boss themselves, so things like Jean remain possible. 4. Instead of taking 2 hearts, take 1 heart and 1 armor. Less crippling early, more crippling late, and makes Glass Cannon actually worth picking. 5. After some high difficulty numbers, the following kick in: A. Items start slowly losing durability which scales over time. With mending, it would be absolutely possible to stay ahead of the curve, but it would take active participation. B. Zombies and Piglins gain the ability to break blocks if there is no viable path to the player. C. Any mob that is loaded and has aggro'd to the player before becomes permanently aware of the player's location until unloaded.
I am glad that you are glad that I am completing a datapack that does in fact add advancements (albeit not the super popular BlazeandCave’s Advancements)
Huh, you are doing a lot of mods/datapacks that I know about, that I would also not expect to see you do a video on. I have been wanting to see a playthrough of Rougecraft (other than what the creator, Monocode, shows during his showcase of it), so it is awesome to see it!

super glad that you said roguelite instead of roguelike; a majority of people don't really know the difference, and i'm happy the right term was used here!!
I dont know if this was meant to be this, but the ender dragons name reminded me of the "Invincible fearless sensual mysterious enchanting vigorous diligent overwhelming gorgeous passionate terrifying beautiful powerful Grey Prince Zote" from hollow knight
That revamped ender dragon fight goes ABSOLUTELY HARD. It feels like a proper epic final showdown, rather than the janky and tedious chore it is in vanilla. The ender dragon fight is horribly out-dated especially when compared to more recent updates. Rougecraft goes to show that a proper epic boss-fight IS POSSIBLE in minecraft.

Is the datapack multiplayer compatible? Or is it singleplayer only?
Dude this is on par with a high quality modpack. That's incredible.
