valuable information. thank you for your honest opinion. and as you said. making your own Cables is the way to go.. i'd rather do that and put the money toward better equipment than buying big brand names.
I changed the RCA plugs of my Cardas 33AWG tonearm cable from Neutrik NYS373(gold plated brass) to Furutech FP126(G) (gold plated pure copper center plong/gold plated brass ground). FP126(G) sounds more transparent than the NYS373. Then, from FP126(G) to AQ king cobra RCA plugs (silver ("hanging") plated pure copper). The AQ king cobra RCA plugs give best transparent sound I ever tried. I also tried Blue Jean LC-1 cables with AQ king cobra RCA jacks and they sound so good and well balanced but not as transparent as AQ Water. As per your advice, I will try the Mogami later.
Very refreshing to hear your opinion about the sound of different cables and the factors that are important. And not spending the whole world on cables! I think I will try your recommended methods.
My opinion as a pro musician with hifi experience. Any cable is a filter. A signal cannot come out better it went in a cables. Parameters are used to give a cable an own sound. You can play with that to fine tune your equipment. Sometimes a little more high will give you the best result at the end. Sometimes the mid and sometimes the low tones. Also your room acoustics is doing something. It's all about the total/final match. A lot of people are not able to hear theses differences, be happy! I also build a few cables with Belden, Canare and Mogami. They do their work pretty good. By the way, if a cable sounds different is that better? And what is better. You also need a rather expensive (read very good) hifi system do hear these differences. Lets say 10.000-20.000 dollar/euro. Off course salesmen make a lot of money selling expensive cables. Explain to me what "wonder" material can be inside a cable. Nothing! Always use your own ears and listen blind. Let someone else change cables while your listening. Don't forget it is a macho mann world. Yes, I am able to that differences. Congrats. Stay with both feet on the ground. Rember, the soundquality of records can give many differences. A lot of salesmen hate me, because I spoil their income. But I don't care and don't ly. Finally, I know a reviewer very well. He once had the Walhalla interconnect. His system sounded fantastic. Are we listening to all Walhalla cables now? The sound is great! No I build all cables by myself, he said. He just found out what is inside famous cables and makes his own copy's. I have the same now. I pay him 100 dollar/euro for an interconnect and a little more for the speaker cables. I don't even wanna know what's inside. Have fun.
Great knowledge sharing. I've seen you how to make speaker cables as well...I learned more from you in the short videos than all the BS from salesmen claiming snake oil improvements. The truth hurts but it set me free from the BS. Keep up the great videos. I'm a lifelong fan of what you do. Thanks for providing links to the products you use.
Resistance of the interconnect cables it's kind of irrelevant as long as it is below a few Ohms. And that range covers all possible cable sizes and materials.
I owned mogami xlr cables to feed my event 8 studio monitors . The difference between the mogami to the standart cable that i got with the monitors is like night and day.
I used to use the Blue Jeans but now switched over to QED Performance Audio 40i. The difference was obvious enough on my Adam Tensor Delta Speakers using hegel hd30 dac to micromega as-400 amp. The QED is more open & detailed on top end and it was obvious enough for me. Although I think lot of ppl might prefer the smoother sound of Blue Jeans.
I have pretty much all Mogami cables, 2549, 2534, 2964, 2497, 2803. Besides 2549, all the others sound good in different ways. Your gold 2534 is a great choice, but IMO sounds a bit too similar to your L-4E6S.
After trying some more expensive cables (RCA and speaker) mostly TQ Ultra Black line up, I have the exact same experience. Pro cables are genuinely neutral in their delivery they portray how your components sound. The more expensive cables use different allows and constructions, multi strands or different exotic materials that increase conductivity etc and different isolators to just give some additional colour in detail, or more pronounced bass etc. I actually like that in my desktop system because you are sitting very close to the speakers and you benefit from every bit of extra soundstage, because there is limited room interactions. In my living room (main system), however I prefer the “Pro” cables because otherwise it imbalances my already balanced system. So with everything it really depends. Put your money in components and clean power supply components first. Upgraded power supply in my experience reduces noise and not so much sound. It is a well upgrade of the system. I use also pro for that, Furutech The Empire.
i had QED Graphite which are good cables but a little bottom heavy at times. i had a pair made up recently with Van Damme locap 55 guitar cable with WBT style plugs, altogether cost the same as the QED cable did but they blow them out of the water, they're as good s a cable costing 10x what the QEDs did
You'll never need anything that you believe is better than a recording studio. Which cables come at mostly less than 10 bucks a meter on a roll. WHAT ABOUT SHIELDING ? The main reason why I purchased expensive cables, sub leads etc was for the extra shielding! I cannot put up with any kind of unwanted noise (radio frequencies) so therefore if you can recommend any kind reasonable priced cables which has good shielding.... I'm all ears!

So trust your ears and choose what you like, not necessarily what the seller/dealer wants to sell you! Don't be fooled by "High Speed", "3D" and all other meaningless words!
Falcon Cables - my favourite. It is a non-fancy pro audio cable. In just a glance you will notice that it is way ahead in quality than Belden. The copper looks very clean and pure in Falcon. The insulation is also highly durable. The dealer said it is made to withstand tramps of the entire crowd if laid through the ground.

It's really pretty simple, "High Quality" cables 'can possibly' make a difference if all the other system connection variables are allowing your system components to operate at High levels. How much money you've spent doesn't mean sh%t if what you've connected to doesn't have the Synergy to go beyond being a random collection of entertainment equipment.
There is no measurable nor audible difference between good standard quality cables and the high end cables that manufacturers are pushing to clueless buyers. Any difference that people claim to hear between them is purely down to expectation bias and wouldn't manifest in a properly conducted blind listening test. Same goes for most other components such as DACs and amplifiers. The only parts of a system which make an audible difference are headphones/speakers and room acoustics.
Tunti Turpaan 110% agree with you on expectation bias. It's one of the prominent intangibles that drives the audiophile industry. To say though that only speakers and room acoustics affect sound, you're selling yourself short. It all starts at the electrical panel. Dirty power, dirty sound. All components in the "chain" make a difference, even cables. Heck you can even hear the startling difference playing a low res MP3 file vs an audiophile hi res file off a phone speaker! Let's be clear, different can mean better, but can also just mean different. That's the fun in this hobby, there is no absolute. There is only what sounds good to you and what your wallet can stand.
Hi, did anyone ever try out Mogami 2497 and 2803, maybe with Klei connectors, how would that compare to combinations with Neutrik Profi connectors, Mogami 2534 and 2549 cable?
@@Tharbamar Thank you!!! By your advice I bought 3104 speaker cables and they are just amazing. You think Neutrik Profi connectors are good enough or should I look for something else? Witchcraft (all black) are not available in Europe at this time. BTW, I love your channel!!! It is very special. Don't waste your time on 'haters', not worth it.
Thank you! Viborg (VR109 and VR109G, which are their cheapest available in Europe) are twice as expensive (80 to 85 eur=usd) compared to Neutrik Profi (40 eur=usd) and cost as much as Klei Harmony copper and Harmony silver (80 and 100 eur=usd) which are supposed to be reference besides Klei Harmony Pure22 (140 eur=usd). Dilemmas, dilemmas... Bulk wires (most popular from Mogami, Canare, ...) are cheap, connectors expensive... I hoped Neutrik Profi would be a perfect compromise between price and SQ. BTW, I watched you Focal Sopra 2 review many times, because of my small room I abandoned my hopes of them and opted for old Marantz LS-85. Your channel saves money and bring (SQ) happiness.
Anyone saying cables don't matter, have never tested or didn't have the money to try different cables in a good system...I can attest to how good Ortofon Reference Red RCA Interconnect is between preamp and amplifier... I tried the Chord Silver Plus because it works well between my Copland cda 288 cd player and pre amp...so i tried replacing my Ortofon Red from pre amp to amp with the Chord Silver Plus...NOT near as good as my Ortofon Red RCA was...so of course switched it back...now I am wondering and thinking of trying the level up from Red to Blue or Black Ortofon RCA cables...has anyone tried the different Otofon RCA Cables to help me decide ❓
One of my favorite cables is the Dimarzio M Path. Not because of the sound but because of the excellent build quality and it’s hard to find since it’s no longer made. Dimarzio still makes guitar cables and they are outstanding and less than $50. Good bargains actually
Excellent video. It acknowledges exactly what I found out. I sold all my expensive cables and bought good quality cables Made in China, where Audioquest Cables are also made :)))))
Grea vid,I have a Question,I have made my own RCA cables for Technics Turntables for years, typical white Red connection from the PCB Board to two connectors White Red all good, one Day I've decided to Make my own RCA,male to male for plug and unplug RCA Turntables, they worked Both Directions fine, the problem is that,I've tried to build more and now they don't work at all, same cables same connectors and I don't even remember what I did the first time to make them Work Both Directions! Any help?
Thank you for saying what I've always suspected. I bought a pair of blue jean interconnects based on your video. So we shall see. BTW i like that plant in the back of your video. Very cool.
I saw something on another channel and I think he boiled it down to 2 key points. A cable can't add anything to the signal (unless it causes equipment to start oscillating). A cable can only take something away be it highs or lows. In y opinion you want reasonably low inductance and capacitance. You want low resistance and that requires very good quality copper. The connectors should grip the equipment very well and the material should be tarnish free.
Is Mogami W3082 more detailed than Canarie 4S11...I have two yahmaha M2 amps and bi amping spendor s100 that have 3 posts on each speaker I'm presently using canarie 4s11 bi-wired to one amp mids on speaker A posts and highs on speaker B posts and the Lows are being fed with the other amp on Speaker A...just wondering if the mogami w3082 would have more detail than canarie 4s11...i don't mind running 3 seperate sets of wires two from one amp speakerA&B and lows from other yahmaha m2

Hi. I'm trying to find the cable that is your favorite. The 3rd cable on the video, but when I hit the links, they don't look the same. I believe you said Mogami, but the cable on the link has a different connecter. How good is the connecter on the amazon link for Mogami?
Great video, very honest I like that but I'm confused on th Mogami. The link to the video description takes you to the Mogami Gold for digital connection which are sold individually not as pairs. Are you recommending a digital cable for stereo? And in your responses to comments here you name 2945 and W3003, this later is a speaker cable. Which Mogami were you referring for stereo Interconnects?
Hi man, in your opinion regarding the Canare l4e6s or mogami w2045 cables still the same today or is there any other model today that you think is better? thx!
I upgraded my "new" Oehlbach cables which were good with the Magami cables based on this review and testing. It was expensive for me, but totally worth it. The increase in fine detail plus a more neutral and less harsh sound . Budget Oelbach cables were detailed but a bit harsh on my system. I will now only buy Magami cables.
Very good video. Congratulations. Very clear. I will think to do that. What do you think of the Absolute AW400? I have 10 meters offered for purchase. I'm thinking of buying. is it worth it? Best regards e thank you very much.
@@Tharbamar Thanks for the answer. I think I'm going to test the Absolute cable. The price is good. I really appreciate your tips and teachings in hi-end audio. Congratulations again.
On average, only the most sophisticated measuring equipment can discern between cables. But just because you can measure the difference, it doesn't follow that you can hear the difference!
everyone should ask themselves why there are no measurements ever when it comes to outlandish statements involving audio cables... I mean great measuring tools are quite accessible these days. if a cable makes such tremendous difference in sound over a different cable, i'm sure an oscilloscope or a spectrometer would pick that right up. :}
Video these days is always digital. So no the cable does not make any difference in image or audio quality. Same with balanced Quad Neglex / Quad Star cables. Their design guarantees signal integrity, so what you are paying for is the quality (durability / flexibility) of the cable. With analog signals like RCA, shielding quality matters. The woven shield of the Canare should outperform pretty much anything else. If your cable is beeing moved pick a microphone cable (it has an extra layer of protection to not pick up sound from beeing moved around). Avoid analog or unbalanced options till the last meter if possible. I would recommend a good dac with balanced analog out using Star Quad cables. Everything is mastered digitally these days anyway. With Qobuz, Apple Music or Amazon Music, you can go lossless right into your speaker without RMI. People who are all about silver cables or solder are just audiofools. Higher electrical conductivity just means less resistance you will get the same effect with a slightly thicker copper cable. The signal is identical. Don't be fools. Make your own cables. Use high quality components (no silver bs).
Hi Tharbamar, I bought a Mogami W2964. It sound neutral, witha good bass prominence. Buttoo much soundstage narrowing, less holography than Tasker RG59 Bu (1€/m) and VDH the wave (19€/m) or QED Performance. Which Mogami/canare digital one that offering a big, deep and holographyc soundstage, do you suggest?
Nice and informative video. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Question about the interconnect cabels: Do they work in car audio, too? Or would you choose other cables?
Pro grade audio cables are what's used in recording studios. Anyone who claims they can hear vast differences between cables should prove this with a double blind ABX listening test and we'll see the facts.
Cables are very subjective, find a good dealer that will let you listen to or borrow a variety of cables and let your ears do the buying. Don't forget that the equipment the cables are plugged into has a big influence on the sound of the cable regardless of the cost of that cable. Just because a cable is expensive doesn't mean its the right cable for your system. 😃
I love your honesty...I work in the industry and realise that 50% is marketing and bs...keep up the good work. Honesty is the best policy

OUTSTANDING!!! THANK YOU...
Hi, did anyone ever try out Mogami 2497 and 2803, maybe with Klei connectors, how would that compare to combinations with Neutrik Profi connectors, Mogami 2534 and 2549 cable?
I had pretty much all cables made by Mogami my favorite is 2549 for absolute transparency.
BTW, my sistem is all Marantz. LS-85 speakers, PM-94 amp, HD DAC-1 dac.
@@JR-dr2ro Thank you, I would suggest you to try Viborg connectors, which is better than most and as good as WBT plugs. amzn.to/3TOgMSD
Great Video! No Baloney real life experience about what counts and what doesn't for sound quality.
Love your good cables advice. Be getting your recommended cables.
I totally agree with you. Trust your ears and watch your wallet. There are so many myths in the audiophile world.
There are so many bad people and companies in the audiophile world,
@Larry Niles A lot of snakeoil audio companies are trying to screw gullible consumers. You're the one bitching here bud.
I sold all my expensive cables and bought good quality cables Made in China, where Audioquest Cables are also made :)))))
finally someone which say how it is, just make them yourself or let ik make by someone which make them for little money
Any help?
In some sense yes, but the difference are primary via software recording not real human.
Hey Tharbamar! Where did you get that cool looking braiding for the canare cable? It's a nice pearlescent color!
Chord interconnects are the ones I've actually heard an improvement with..chord crimson vee 3 and the chord clearway
What’s the best subwoofer cable? Can I get one in Mogami w3104?
Pancakes? Did somebody mention pancakes?? Yes please !! 🥞🥞🥞
I made my own cables with solid silver, cost me around $65 for a 1 meter pair....Also the Mogami W2549 also sounds great too for DIY
Nice! Even when/if u go wireless in the future, you can at anytime sell the silver by weight... could possibly be for a profit.
I have done this too. I used Furutech RCA connectors and they work just fine.
Mogami W2549 sounds quite neutral but I still like my XLO's more which the way it twisted is unique.
Thomas...what is your take on using mundorf silver solder on your connections?...more of a solid connection that doesn't loosen?
I no longer use them because they don't last in my RCA cables.
@@Tharbamar
not silver wire...i'm talking about soldering your conections, like your banana plugs, spades, or any other connectors when making up DIY cables?...I purchased some mundorf 10% silver solder to solder my connectors together...while i'm making cables like in your DIY videos...Canare 4S11 for my mains...
@@Tharbamar
what doesn't last?
@@briancampbell7712 solder contact keep breaking because I do plugging in and out often.
Good point, i always looked for cheap professional amp's and dac's, but cables make the most sense..
PS the video is too long, still glad i saw it whole.
I will try to make it shorter next time, Thanks
@@Tharbamar I have a serious question. I saw you did not use two different runs of Mogami Gold . Did you just split the wires 2 and 2? And how did you isolate them, some kind of shielding or shrink wrap around them or? I am building a gaming PC and have limited space inside so I liked the idea of splitting one cable in two RCAs. Thank you in advance for your answer.
mogami 2534 vs 2549 rac which is beater sound quality?
Personally I like 2549 more, thanks
thank you
Are the outside screw on jacket & spring that surround the center pin really gold plated like the pin?
Or is it brass?
Hello my friend.
what mogami cable model is?
Thnaks.
Mogami w3104.
Your content has outstanding qualoty, keep it up! I think most people can agree that some of your videos are too long.. heres my idea:
you could make the short and long version, by this people can get educated quicker and people who want details can watch the long version
Keep it up, all love ❤️
Do any of these cables come in male to female (extension) version? Also, do they come with ground cables, is that necessary? I need to extend my turntable rca which is TOO short. Thanks and great video!
Can you please make a video of making XRL balanced cable?
I will do that when I’m not too busy, thanks
please tell me the best Canare or Magomi cable with 3 wires to use for Rel Subwoofer Speakon Neutrik connector and the other end has 3 wires going to R/L positive and Black either negative...So I need a Canare or mogami cable with 3 wires...what should I get??
As far as I know Mogami or Canare don't make 3 conductor cables for speaker or sub connection, may be you can buy REL cables.
@@Tharbamar
If you were building DIY cables for a Rel subwoofer...what wires would you select?...maybe you should do a video on that build...
@@briancampbell7712 I use Canare 4S8, Yeah I should make one DIY sub cable video, Thanks for the advice.
@@Tharbamar 👍🏼thx
@@Tharbamar
for Rel it only takes 3 wires...4S8 are 4 conductors...do you use 2 of them for negative and 1 for right positive and 1 for left positive?
Hi. I'm trying to find the cable that is your favorite. The 3rd cable on the video, but when I hit the links, they don't look the same. I believe you said Mogami, but the cable on the link has a different connecter. How good is the connecter on the amazon link for Mogami?
Hi, it’s been a while, they might have change the design, thanks
Wonderful video BTW. Which coax cable do you recommend and can I use a pro grade RCA cable instead?
Great video, very honest I like that but I'm confused on th Mogami. The link to the video description takes you to the Mogami Gold for digital connection which are sold individually not as pairs. Are you recommending a digital cable for stereo? And in your responses to comments here you name 2945 and W3003, this later is a speaker cable. Which Mogami were you referring for stereo Interconnects?
@tharbamar
What is the model code for mogami gold? Seems to have a lot of different type.
I want to DIY rca cables from it 😊
Hi man, in your opinion regarding the Canare l4e6s or mogami w2045 cables still the same today or is there any other model today that you think is better? thx!
I’m still using them even though I have much more expensive newer cables from different brands.
Super impressed with your Hi-quality work and detailed info! please can you record a video for (3.5mm audio to RCA - (Analog to Digital)

and connectors please?
Please see video description because it’s been a while, thanks
@@Tharbamar the ones that u said are your favorite im talking about Mogami old?
@@Tharbamar doesnt say.. maybe Mogami W2549 or Mogami W2497 ?
not written on the cable?
I upgraded my "new" Oehlbach cables which were good with the Magami cables based on this review and testing. It was expensive for me, but totally worth it. The increase in fine detail plus a more neutral and less harsh sound . Budget Oelbach cables were detailed but a bit harsh on my system. I will now only buy Magami cables.
fantastic stuff! Cheers mate !!
agree with you, keep up good work
I appreciate your honesty Tharbamar!
Very good video. Congratulations. Very clear. I will think to do that. What do you think of the Absolute AW400? I have 10 meters offered for purchase. I'm thinking of buying. is it worth it? Best regards e thank you very much.
I do not have experience with Absolute cables, thanks
@@Tharbamar Thanks for the answer. I think I'm going to test the Absolute cable. The price is good. I really appreciate your tips and teachings in hi-end audio. Congratulations again.
is there too much of a difference between the mogami and the blue jeans?
What do you think of the belden 8402 with the switchcraft 3502 connecters?
That is very good combination.
On average, only the most sophisticated measuring equipment can discern between cables. But just because you can measure the difference, it doesn't follow that you can hear the difference!
Can be used the component cable as a RCA audio cable? If not why?
@Tharbamar Very cool videos for helping people make their own cables! And the result looks perfect to me! Well done.
everyone should ask themselves why there are no measurements ever when it comes to outlandish statements involving audio cables... I mean great measuring tools are quite accessible these days. if a cable makes such tremendous difference in sound over a different cable, i'm sure an oscilloscope or a spectrometer would pick that right up. :}
Of course more money the better!
Because more expensive cables display your wealth better.
I think i need better ears than cables - I’m not Wi-curious much but I like to watch.
There are other effects like dielectric loss and shielding quality for example.
Is that a Kimber plant?
Hi Tharbamar, I bought a Mogami W2964. It sound neutral, witha good bass prominence. Buttoo much soundstage narrowing, less holography than Tasker RG59 Bu (1€/m) and VDH the wave (19€/m) or QED Performance. Which Mogami/canare digital one that offering a big, deep and holographyc soundstage, do you suggest?
Hi, I do not use any digital cables from Mogami or Canare, All my digital cables are Oyaide cables, thanks
Hi Tharbamar! Can I apply Mogami Gold RCA for auto to connect audio processor with amflier? thanks

Would appreciate a video on DIY audiophile XLR cables.
Yes I will, thanks
Nice and informative video. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Question about the interconnect cabels:
Do they work in car audio, too? Or would you choose other cables?
It will work but check with manufacturers for proper rating and safety, thanks
@@Tharbamar WOW. instant answer. Thank you again. See you on TH-cam.
Pro grade audio cables are what's used in recording studios. Anyone who claims they can hear vast differences between cables should prove this with a double blind ABX listening test and we'll see the facts.
And all the cables that mentioned is Pro Grade.
Try hi-fidelity cables, do a review on their magnetic conduction...
Sorry to bug you. What r your thoughts regarding balanced rca cables? Do you have a video making balanced rca directional cables?
Good comments, have you try or have comments on Cardas speaker cables and interconnects.
