Coffee Dad's really great at explaining combat-related stuff so simply - I love that about this channel, as one who is eternally bamboozled by GW2 lol.
This video now has me itching to try out some different elite specs. I'm totally guilty of finding what I like and sticking to that (been a Tempest main since HoT and probably will be til the end of time lol) and these videos remind me that there are other options.
Curious why you prefer Tempest over Weaver? IMO Weaver is the pinnacle of elite spec design and the most engaging and enjoyable the combat in any MMO has ever been.
@@kyle1806 I love how easy (in elementalist terms) Tempest is when it comes to versatility. I can very easily switch to whatever role is required in different content, plus I find that Tempest's rotations can be more reactive to the situation without totally derailing. Weaver can be fun to play but I find it relies more heavily on a more set rotation to be effective. But that might just be me (a mediocre GW2 player lol)
@@chiaroscuroh Interesting perspective. Always cool hearing how other elementalists like to play, as I'm such a staunch weaver advocate. I agree that there is a bit more of a rotation base to the weaver but you have to be able to react and adapt to the situation and doing so within the framework of the weavers dual element mechanic, to me, is the height of engagement for GW2 combat. Granted I haven't tried out every class/spec, it seems to be backed up by anecdotal reports.

@@chiaroscuroh as a non ele main, I agree I also like tempest more because of this. Perhaps I don't understand the benefit of weaver well enough, but I'm not a sucker for big complex rotations. For example I don't like complex boon upkeep builds spamming everything off cd. Some boon / dps rotation is fun but next to that I want to be able to press the buttons when I need them. And I don't remember about boons but I remember indeed it's harder to swap back and forth with weaver because of this double element mechanic.
Haha well thank you! I try to make things bite sized and easy to digest for players as the game has alot about it that may be overwhelming

As much as I like Reaper, TEMPEST makes you feel unkillable in pvp
Tempest there last season was super duper strong!
Currently playing adevil. It's so fun just jumping around and avoiding all the damage while killing your enemies. It's really a fun spec to play with.
Might try it since I am still not enjoying my Deadeye gameplay.
Honestly I even like playing it with the staff! It's good fun!
My favourite Elite spec from heart of thorns is Revenant Herald :D
The more I play herald the more I love it!
@@CaffeinatedDad one of the things that makes me love the revenant is the fact that they talk and react to their Legends, and some answers just makes me laugh. and also the fact the herald can go from very tanky to a crazy damage machine, just by changing the legend :)
Scapper is my favorite elite spec! Great support while looking cool with a hammer. :3
It's a really fun spec any a great iteration of the engineer
The hammer is awesome and THE most versatile weapon in the game, it has block, reflect, evade, combo field, leap finisher, whirl finisher, cc, vuln and might:D
Also the gyros following you is cool and gotta love the superspeed:x

hmmm for the chrono you should have also included some gameplay with big numbers because for solo play it's also a dps burst machine; in Drizzlewood you have this minigame with ranking for soloing this small instanced boss fight. And the top ranking for fastest clear (back then) was held by chrono's
Well I only had 60s and I wanted to be straight forward. Although it was brought to my attention that I misspoke about their wells lol
Bought the expansions and living worlds just slowly playing bit by bit living world episode 1 done and need lot of points to unlock Reaper (halfway through) then hopping to guardian and doing everything again
Backpacks +10 slot still on the lookout
Try wvw vendors the "siegemaster satchel" bag slot is 18 slot and I believe available to all players

I want so badly to enjoy this game but I keep getting this bug where at the end of story missions my game just disconnects and kicks me back to character select. When I log back in I have to redo the entire mission.
This happened first with the Rata Novus mission in tangled depths then when I did the final main sorry mission. I had to redo each mission I think 4 times before I changed the data streaming option to unlimited. It worked for a bit but now doing living world season 1 and it's happening again. Anyone experience this? I contacted GW2 support but they say they can't find anything wrong.
Yeah that is an unfortunate problem in the game. Having to restart at the end of a mission because it crashes has been a pain in the behind for a while now
Those Gryos weren't "Wells" to begin with. I think they reworked them in a preivious QoL Update haha. Miss How you can target an enemy and send those Gyros flying towards them. 😅
Definitly reaper or tempest. I'm not exactly sure which one I like more, I mean it's hard to choose between the incarnation of death and the avatar.

Which pvp do you enjoy more. NewWorld or GW2?
Can't give you a full comparison because I've done so very little pvp in new world. However I do enjoy gw2 pvp
The warrior berserk seems to be the only specialization that does not change the play style, arena net was afraid of success.
True, like berserk phases are cool but if you told me that was on core warrior I would have believed you!
@@CaffeinatedDad exactly, I've been playing only guardian and warrior for a year now, and when I discovered the specializations of the guardian it was really amazing, something I didn't feel with the warrior.

Badly needed this, i want to play someone who use bow but i keep on reading that dragon hunter is bad :(
You can also use Berserker with Longbow, it deals some serious burning damage.

It's not bad anymore
I play power Dragonhunter (longbow/greatsword) in PVE, Fractals, Strikes, WvW and PVP (in pvp I sometimes switch GS for sword/shield) and it's such a fun class.
I wouldn't say it's bad in terms of damage, but in group content it feels like a very "selfish" build in that it doesn't do much for the party as a whole with regards to boon application, etc. However that might just be the former Firebrand in me talking XD.
Also, True Shot (longbow 2) is great for trolling enemies who think they've escaped your grasp, right before your arrow ruins their day XD
Dragonhunter is by no means bad, it is powerful in many endgame modes. In pvp it should be mentioned its kind of a 1 trick pony but all in all its still geeat!

So in pvp, do u play against ppl with these specializations? So if a f2p player jumped in pvp they would be fighting agaisnt them? If so is that unfair? Should I avoid pvp unless I get the dlc?
Not necessarily core builds still do well in pvp, its all normalized. The elite specs just add different affects to the core and change their playstyle. Pvp is about as balanced as it can be ATM so you would probably have a learning curve and then be ok!
