did you have the tranmission lowered some to get to #6 bolt? I have Non-M e46 and absolutely have no room. With all the extension combinatins I've tried I still can't get enough bend/curve to get the E14 socket seated enough on the bolt

This is a little late, but I had to lower mine and still barely had any space. It's just very very tight down there

Two of the bolts I removed were from the starter, so you just pull it out
