What i do to get a good sidechain is lowering the sample volume pritty much so the drums are lowder, so the compressor levels the volume of the sample when the kick is not bumping. And also a good tip taken from the good guy bsd.u is to adjust the sustain and attack at 0 and then turn the knobs till you get the sound you want 😁 Hope is usefull information! big s/o to Elan
I see that adding the compression effect to each pad gives the sidechain effect when playing everything out, but let's say you resample everything onto a single pad first, without and compression, and then add the compression to the resampled pad, will the effect sound the same?
@@Sean-xl3mc Yes! i do that, i try to have the whole track done in one pad, then resample with some effects jam, and then i resample lastly with the compression. I've noticed that depending on the drum kick you use it's gonna give a more hard sidechain, but still figuring it out xD
unclejuju12 yes just turn the level button down for until it’s gone but it’s effects the overall volume so try to balance it out I will make another video about it soon

@@nit.issues Dope. Thanks for the reply my man. Going to try these techniques out soon
Sean Aitken yes you can try that with the whole track . Just tinker with the settings to get the sound just be careful not to over compress
level that between 50-64 and ya joints'll sound like a buttery steak, medium well with A1 steaksauce, kid. 🖖 btw what up E!
ruffiankick. What’s good bro and thanks
Thanks for the tutorial!
anyway to avoid that popping noise at the beginning of samples when using comp.

@@ElanBrio By level button do you mean the overall sp’s level or the individual samples level?
So this would also be applicable to the 303?
Yes it would be
just copped my first SP, this helped a lot g thankyou. if you could do a video on eq and compression that would be dope
+Solstice Beats I already got one on compression check my playlist but for sure I can do one one Eq
I can do one one the compressor two
I do this then i resample it then eq it.
+Clutch Hawks good way to do it too
So it's more like "faking" a sidechain (sound great though)
Can't wait to try it !
Thanks for sharing 👌🙏
