DP is resting alright, but not in paradise. He is in a deep peaceful sleep awaiting the second coming of Jesus. So Clearly states the Holy Bible! He is deceived and teaching deception to all of you. The Bible is clear about what happens at death. We are a living being and are a soul. we do not have one, but are one just like the animals. In Genesis we both are referenced as creatures. By the way what did Lazarus say about his death experience after Jesus raised him? NOTHING ! Because there was nothing to say! This clergyman should know better. The immortality of the soul is a pagan doctrine.

Lost people have rejected Moses, the prophets and Jesus. On judgement day, there will be no excuses. Believers will receive what they long for, the presence of God. And lost souls will receive what they long for, distance and separation from God forever. Praise His holy name!

Genesis 2:7 teaches that Man is breath of life and the physical body which equals to a living soul or living being.
Therefore, at death the breath of life(not a conscious soul) goes back to the one who breathed it into man and the body to dust.
Man is not immortal by nature, that's why 2 Timothy 1:10 says Jesus brings life and immortality through the gospel. 1Thessalonians 4:16-18 Paul says the Lord himself will come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise, then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds. And so we will be with the Lord forever(meaning dead people were not with the Lord before this event).

Hundreds of years ago, a Zen Master & his student are meditating together at a strictly-enclosed Tibetan monastery that is known for its supreme excellence in teaching spiritual matters.
After a couple of hours sitting together, the novice asks the Master: "Master, what happens to us when we die?"
After a long, dramatic pause, while stroking his long, white beard, the Zen Master replies, "I don't know, my son."
The novice asks, "How can you not know? You are an accomplished Zen Master !
The Master's laconic reply was, "Yes, but I'm not a dead one."

The rich man and Lazarus scene happened after the judgement. Otherwise there are as many Judgement Days as there are deaths.

    • @trevhib
      @trevhib ปีที่แล้ว

This event clearly happened in Sheol (Hades), not in Hell, therefore it cannot be after the judgement, because after the judgement the unrighteous will be in Hell, not Hades. I grant that we see in scripture that "it is appointed to each man to die once and then the judgement", which causes problems to our way of thinking because how could Lazarus and the Rich Man happen in between? But it definitely did and God must account for this somehow. I presume it's something to do with there being no 'time' in eternity.

@@trevhibwhat is Hades? What is shoel? And what is Hell in the bible???

    • @trevhib
      @trevhib ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@pamelawinley Hi Pam. In the Hebrew Scriptures (i.e. the Old Testament), the word used to describe the realm of the dead is 'sheol' (or the grave). It simply means “the place of the dead” or “the place of departed souls/spirits.” Hades is simply the New Testament Greek word for it. Sheol/hades is divided into two sides, a place of blessing (where Lazarus was in Luke 16) and a place of torment (where the rich man was in Luke 16). It is a temporary place where souls in torment are kept as they await the final resurrection and judgement. When Jesus was resurrected and he went down into hades he cleared out the 'place of blessing', so that side is now empty, and the souls of the righteous at death now go directly into the presence of God in heaven. According to many.
Hell is a different place, it is the eternal lake of fire where those who reject God will be forever following the judgement and it is still being prepared. Jesus tells us about it in Revelation.
      I hope that helps.

This IS most certainly a parable!! Any clergyman worth his salt knows this. Shoel and Hades simply means the grave, nothing more. Hell also just means the grave! This story is a parable and makes no sense for many reasons yet so many clergy use it in an attempt to prove we have an immortal soul. But what does the Bible say?
“Man’s fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies
the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animals. Everything is
meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows
if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?” (Ecc.
    3:19-21).
“Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep [die] but we shall all be changed. In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump [at the exact moment of Christ’s
return], for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
“While I live I will praise the Eternal: I will sing praises unto my God while I
have any being. Put not your trust in princes or in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish”
    (Psalm 146:2-4).
“But man dies and lies prostrate. Man expires, and where is he?…So man lies
down and does not rise. Until the heavens be no more he will not awake nor be aroused
out of his sleep” (Job 14:10-12).
“He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of
our lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 1:8). “Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth
shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
    (Daniel 12:2)
Jacob speaking of Joseph: “......in mourning will I go down to the grave to my
son.” So his father wept for him. ( Gen. 37:35)
The righteous “will be like him when he appears. At his coming” and shall see
Christ “as he is” (1 John 2:28; 3:2). John would be speaking out of order by looking
forward to seeing Christ “as he is” when he returns yet future, if the righteous dead will
have known him in heaven long before his future coming. The saints will be like Christ only
when they acquire glorious bodies “at the last trump: on Resurrection Day (Phil. 3:20-21; 1
Cor. 15:50-55). All who have not thus become “like Christ” will not attain to the Kingdom
(see v. 50). Therefore, nobody could possible have entered heaven at the time of death but
must await entrance into the kingdom yet future when Christ appears on that glorious Day.
The popular view of death, judgment, reward and resurrection appears to be hopelessly
confused when compared with the lucid texts of Scripture.

There are many clues in the parable* of the Rich Man and Lazarus that, instead of contrasting the saved vs. unsaved, it's contrasting the treatment of Jews vs. Gentiles in the gospel age^, when the tables would be turned**:
Rich Man -- is never directly accused of a sin (only of being wealthy)^^
Lazarus -- is never described as righteous (only of being a beggar)* * *
    Purple -- indicates royalty (chosenness)
Fine linen -- was for Jewish priests (Exodus 28:39)
Abraham -- why is he in this parable at all? Because it specifically concerns Judaism.
Father Abraham -- described as "Father"
Flame -- the flame is singular -- not plural -- so it's not about hell
Five brothers -- Judah's 5 _full-blooded_ brothers were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Issachar & Zebulun (Gen. 35:23)
Moses & prophets -- The Jewish people had Moses and the prophets
Not convinced by one rising from the dead -- a prophecy of Christ's pending resurrection, which his Jewish audience would learn about but not heed (for the most part)
    * It follows the parables of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, the Prodigal Son and the Unjust Steward, strongly suggesting that it, too, is a parable. So does one drop of water being able to help in this situation.
^ In the gospel age, Israel is partially hardened by God (Rom. 11:25), while Gentiles are included in the church.
** This doesn't _excuse_ centuries of antisemitism, right up through the present time.
^^ The Rich Man's material wealth represents his belonging to the chosen people, and having the written revelation of God (Hebrew scriptures).
    * * * "Lazarus" is probably another name for "Eliezer," Abraham's Gentile servant (Gen. 15:2). Here, Lazarus represents Gentiles who were beggars in the sense that they were lacking knowledge of God, due to God's chosen people not having shared it with them. Consider the unjust steward in the preceding parable, and Jesus overturning tables at the temple.
