Well, I guess that's it for speculation! The KOTOR Remake is officially alive which is INCREDIBLE news! Can't wait for it to release in 2046! To celebrate get some KOTOR Inspired Merch here! - spreadshop-admin.spreadshirt.com/trayus/
It does feel like it will be out in 2046 at this point lol
Elder scrolls six will be probably half way in development by then lol
I would prefer the gameplay to be like the ff7 remake mostly because I’ve seen baulder’s gate 3’s combat and well it just doesn’t strike me as a good game
Yup and *Baldurs gate 3* ia a nest of massive issues. Would love if (more) ppl realized this...
@@mrgumelo4067 Two words; *Development hell*
Finally! Some good news! Hope it drops before 2046 !!
@JamesLetsbereal for real 💯
Lmao!!
lol
Nah still too soon let's try the year 3000 instead.
How much transideology do you think will make its way into this one?
*PRAYING that we can still get this KOTOR game…honestly some of the best games of all time. It’s a damn shame we never got KOTOR 3.*
I know! Hoping that the remake hits, generates some new interest and leads to a number 3 being made focusing on Revan again
Right I wanna know what reven did outside of the outer rim I WANT TO KNOOOOOW
Honestly I’m surprised it took them this long to start making a remake. The perfect time would been after the mass effect trilogy concluded cause at that point bioware was the king of RPGs and they would have profited so much from the mass effect hype as gamers were obviously loving sci fi during the time of the mass effect trilogy and having a remake of a game set in the king of all sci fi universes would’ve been great for bioware. Now their reputation is at an all time low and the remake isn’t really made by them so they gotta really do some work to generate hype from casuals.
Can’t believe that the first trailer was released near the end of 2021, and we’re at the end of 1/3 of 2024…three years! I think?
time is flying by. Next thing we know is the remake will be out
So what? You want a garbage ass game released in a year or two?
ima be honest, thats pretty normal for a game
I really really hope I can customise my character's appearance and potentially change the race like a twileck or something
*Laughs in Elder Scrolls 6*
Brother you have always covered the KOTOR remake with sith such optimism that you're updates alone have always provided hope for the project, and now it's backed up by something official. Cannot wait for future coverage and the legendary review WHEN it comes out!
Couldn't say better.
I hope the KOTOR remake goes well, mainly because I want to see KOTOR 2 get a remake. Though since most recent game remakes have flopped, I'm not holding out much hope..
I'm pretty most top tier remakes have been very successful lol
@@100StarWars Yeah but among the flops we've recently had WC3, the GTA's, Star Wars Battlefronts... and those were off the dome, I'm likely forgetting quite a few.
Those were very high-profile games with huge followings, to see companies so whimfully let those projects flop doesn't inspire confidence.
@@Elrohof Those weren't remakes, those were ports/remasters, which are something else completely. Almost every Remake to release in recent years such as Dead Space, Demon Souls, Resident Evil 1-4 (idk if 4 is out yet), Final Fantasy VI Part 1, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and a lot more have performed insanely well and are considered as good, and in some cases better then the originals. It's constantly been the lazy Remasters/Ports that fail.
@@MicahIsBatman2 That may well be, but if IIRC, didn't the Crash Bandicoot remakes get huge backlash at first due to breaking the game to the point where you couldn't beat it? And that it's only been well received post-launch once it's been fixed, which somewhat applies to the remasters I spoke of as well. I'm not sure, the only Crash game I've known and loved is the Tag Team Racing one.
@@Elrohof It was not huge backlash, it was a very small bug that most people did not experience, and that wasn’t even a launch bug. It only came up when it was ported to other consoles.
A remaster is cool, but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. The era of well developed games is long gone and it’s high time we accept it.
It’s not a remaster it’s a remake which means they’re rebuilding the whole game from the ground up, a remaster is just taking the same game and updating the graphics a bit.
why? There are good modern games like god of war, the last of us and so on. Not much, but there are some. The old games era was good tho
@@Uzumaki.03 I respect the effort they’re putting in. I will purchase it if it makes it to the market, but the appetite has been IMMENSE for Kotor 3 and you gotta forgive the majority of us that are jaded on the idea now after 107 rug pulls by corporate gaming.
@@TheCooler1993 the old games era was about delivering a quality product for you to lose yourself in. Now gaming is tethered to online shops and other people (ick).

I swear the kotor remake is gonna be the new gta 6
PRAYING they honor the original lore. If anything is changed for disney's sake I'm officially done with star wars.
Ever since BG3 won game of the year I knew there was hope for the Kotor remake. I genuinely think they can they can keep the combat style and it will still slap.
Supposedly some reports said that Playstation wanted God of War style combat.
Which is why I desperately hope those rumors that they left the project were true.
@@route77productions i am pretty sure this channel addressed those, something like the original team took heavy inspiration from final fantasy 7, but sony wasn't expecting that at all
@@route77productions I'll be honest, I kind of want action combat.
I don't think they'll keep the original style of combat, might be something more like FF7 remake where you can pause/switch characters and issue a single command for each character rather than que up a bunch of actions.
Well, as long as it's not some power fantasy-style hack and slash I'm happy. Got enough of those already.
I just finished my playthrough of the original KOTOR and KOTOR 2 this/ last week. Both were VERY good games. Looking forward to see what they end up doing with 'em!
Was so hyped when I heard this news. Was dually hyped imagining your reaction after literal years of uncertainty regarding the remake project. So excited to watch your channel explode even more when it releases! 😎😁😎
"Exceeding consumer expectations" is a bold claim to make, but then again my expectations are already exceeded by knowing that this game is still in active development.
Jokes aside tho, I am not sure about Saber is able to pull this off. It's a masterpiece that they should treat with the utmost care.
I have confidence in Saber
They are a pretty well known studio by this point who have done great work in porting tons and tons of games across several different consoles

Disney writers will butcher and completely destroy kotor lore without Chris avellano drew karpyshyn Kevin j Anderson Tom veich James luceno ect
I would argue that it was destroyed before even Disney came. Cancellation of Kotor 3 rushed Kotor 2 and it was basically a miracle it even came out when it did.
Drew was Also involved in the atrocious revan expansion that ruined many of the most important parts of Kotor 2 and it's characters especially revan and the exile. Drew also wrote the revan novel that retcon the hell out of Kotor 2.

@@Dav458 The fact that you're unsure means you're smarter than the other so called "fans" which are actually mindless consumers.
Yer cause Disney makes games 😂 you're delusional asf
It will only be worthwhile if the original writers will cooperate. The strength of KOTOR is the strory depth, the explanation of the Force and delusions of Sith and Jedi.
Man i don't know i wasn't that impressed with kotor
Hopefully get it sometime next year since its been 3-4 years since its announcement
All that I ask it that Aspyr doesn't make it. After the Battlefront Classic Collection incident.
Honestly I think all of these obstacles will just serve as pressure to deliver a better quality game.
I seriously doubt that they can make a version of Kotor that comes anywhere near the S Tier ranking of the originals.
But of course, I want them to succeed, but it will only be great if the people making it put a lot of passion and care into it.
I hope that the gameplay concept didn’t change too much. I for one loved the idea of the KOTOR remake having the same hybrid combat system that the remake for Final Fantasy 7 had
I've been looking forward to this- Count Dooku
A surprise to be sure... But a welcome one
I’d like to see it come our sometime before the collapse of human civilization. All I really want out of this game is a graphical upgrade. No changes to music, voice-work, or anything. Just modern, HD PS5 graphics.
literally the greatest travesty in the history of the entertainment history was the cancelling of kotor 3...
Bro imagine the actual moment they show the next trailer by surprize. Its gonna be amazing
A BG3 style Kotor game is my dream
Would truly be incredible!
Here we go again hopefully it’s not like the battlefront 2 remaster classic collection 🙄😒
My friend I've said to you numerous times that maybe it's time to put this dead horse to rest about the KOTOR remake. Again and again all we get is speculation, rumors and innuendo about the game coming out. I'm not trying to aggravate you my friend but hoping to save you from disappointment if the remake doesn't happen
Instead of focusing on this my friend you should be paying more attention to the latest episodes of the Bad Batch. Especially last week's episode when Ventress returned
Just started KOTOR 2 for the first time and I love it. Playing this with up to date graphics would be aaaaaawesome!!
There are mods that can enhance the graphics.
@@blobber51 Care to share?
@@Aescurd you can try googling it, I would post the links here but youtube keeps deleting my comment when I do that.
Kotor doesn't need a remake especially If aspyer has anything to do with it.
Is there anything specifically about aspyer that makes you say that
Are you living under a rock aspyr had the game taken off them years ago
it's not aspyr
Glad its not them making it, they're lazy re release of the battlefront games was a huge red flag.
Yeah, they'll just screw it up. Hell, Disney couldn't even manage to throw a new coat of paint on Battlefront!
There is hope for kotor just wait; never rush a game
I wouldn't mind FF7 Remake's gameplay for KOTOR Remake, really.
Yeah, the turn based system in kotor wasnt the most engaging part of the game. They should go a hybrid route.
I hope that the remake does NOT follow BG3's system. BG3 was great, but I like being behind my character, I feel more a part of the story and action, more involved. I like to participate more in the actual action of the combat and I think any game focusing on a lightsaber-wielding character benefits from this. There's something very visceral about the weapon that makes actively swinging them around more enjoyable.
The original KOTOR combat system struck an interesting balance between a turn-based action system and a real-time reactionary combat system. I think it would benefit more from moving towards a real-time FF7-remake system than a wholly turn-based BG3 system, although a basic turn-based system could still be an option like in FF7.
KOTOR 1 and 2 were two of the first games I obsessively played as a kid. They were years ahead of their time and still remain my favourite games despite having almost played everything since then. I still have strong hopes that the remake is the spark needed to bring the games back to life.
Long we have waited, hopefully we wont wait to much longer
this would bring a whole new generation of gamers back on quality star wars games and star wars in general in a time of dreadful movies, games and series being made
it's like the perfect time, what the bloody hell is taking them so long?!
this would print them money; even if done in a mediocre way
you already got the entire blueprint of the game, wtf is taking so long!!
I'm more concerned that the game will release and the developers will ruin what was an amazing game more than I am of it getting cancelled. Keep the modern audiences out of it and just make a faithful remake, that's all I ask.
I’ve played through the KoToR campaign 6 times with the last 2 times being this year. I’d really prefer a remaster personally as the old games are still great today if you like that combat.
Isn't it also being made by Aspyr? Who released their switch KOTOR 2 Port with a bug that doesn't let you finish the game....
I want a 1:1 remake that’s as faithful as possible, but it would be hilarious if they copied FF7 and did a full game based on Taris.
I’m really hoping that KOTOR Remake does follow BG3 and have a turn based combat system. As much as people say it’s outdated, it’s clear there’s still a strong community that wants games like that, myself included. It’d be nice to have a good, updated retreading of fun gameplay styles that have been abandoned because they’re considered outdated
The original KOTOR didn't, but you could pause the gameplay to choose the next actions your party would make.
Balders gate 3 to me had the worst turn based combat iv ever played it was really disappointing in my opinion
Could be cool for them to revamp the old system. have it match with FF12/Xenoblade esuqe combat. Unfortunately, I think action is still preferred at large. As long as they maintain some for of RPG strategy core, like a FF7 remake or something adjacent to it, I will be pleased.
please no
@@purish215 that's because it runs D&D5e but the whole game is made on top of Divinity Original Sin 2 that has an awesome system
If they redo all the voice lines imma be mad. Some of the voice actors are dead and they need to leave the voice lines alone to preserve the integrity of the original. Just redo the graphics
I know it was originally going to be completely re-recorded.
@@100StarWars won’t buy it if it is
Yes
Then THANK GOD Aspyr got canned. Fuck that “let’s re-imagine it” bullshit. Those idiots can go fuck themselves. Let’s hope Saber doesn’t make the same mistake
Jennifer Hale was confirmed to be returning as Bastila at least
0:02 I thought this man was about to say “20 years…” it’s rough being a Metroid fan 😂
Would be nice if they restored stuff that was removed in the original preproduction. Be fun to do Sleyheron.
I knew that Aspyr were not adding anything like that. Saber might though.
I'm thinking it will be more of a remaster than a remake. As for timeline of release I could see them going for Christmas time 2026. That would also coincide with Rey movies predicted release window so Star Wars hype should be elevated.
I think it will relax in fall 2025
Not if Rey is involved, it will literally reduce Star Wars hype.
Imagine a Star Wars game Made by the people who made Baldur's Gate 3.
"KOTOR is alive and well" WAS ALL WE NEEDED TO HEAR. Why was it SO HARD for them tell us that? I'm happy about the news, but why did they have to string us along for so long with information either extremely vague or nothing to say at all? To say that the remake is still in development should've been seen as "obvious" was not obvious at all.
They need to do KOTOR 1 AND 2 (restored Content mod) and make them a single release (also pretty please add acutal diolog for T3,) keep his beeps and bleeps but the CC is readable in actual words
Cant wait for them to change everything we loved about the original, while we hack n slash through waves of enemies
At this point, I think the next biggest update we need is, is this a remake or remaster? Because if it’s a remake, than it’ll be a totally new game. Remaster would just be KOTOR with better graphics
I can't wait to have kotor brought back to star wars in terms of films and shows.
Guys, I’m just going to say it. It's better to let this one die.
Ask yourselves. Do you want to play Disney’s KOTOR Modern Audience Remake or actual KOTOR? This game won't be made without a Disney/Lucasfilm checklist.
There is a reason the Old Republic era is the last bastion of Star Wars, with legit die hard fans left-a dedicated fandom who talks about it constantly because it's a masterpiece of storytelling and teamwork.
100% agree is a hidden blessing this game has this many problems
100%. disney just showed it has no intention of changing
omg shutup
All along I've said that I don't want the Disney version of KOTOR. They'll just screw it up, as they've done with everything else.
Kotor news and MAAAAYBE Silksong too in the same week? I don't know if i can handle the copium!
In all honesty, a new teaser trailer with Malak and Malak VO instead of Revan and Bastila VO would be poetic.
Funny, it's like all the people who said KOTOR was dead were basing their argument on nothing but guesses. And reporting it being dead only gets people to click regardless of the truth of the mater.
It was Jeff Grubb who started the rumour and mainstream picked it up. As his name suggests he was slithering in the ground for a source.
That’s why I unsubbed from Ryan Kinel, Star Wars Theory, and the rest of those hate grifters.
I mean no one talks about the development of this game officially for YEARS can you blame other people to believe In rumors that the game is dead ?

I’m gonna be honest…I lost track on everything that has happened with K.O.T.O.R.1 remake.
Thank u for the video 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Kotor turned based was so different from Baldurs Gate 3. I hope they won't make the BG3 turned based style cause I really don't like that type. I rather have the turned based act like it would be an action combat, like it was in Kotor and Kotor 2
I have waited a long time for this my little green friend.
Nope...I refuse to get excited about this until after a game is released. I've been burned too many times already.
You mentioned it, it's passed hands so many times, over the years, is it might not be a KotOR game. At this point I need hard proof that it still is. Anything less, I'd think it's just a card-based mobile game that gets crapped out.
Not ganna lie, a Baldur’s Gate 3 style KOTOR would be actually really interesting to have! It would give a similar feel to the old KOTOR but with a new feel too! With the way Baldur’s gate 3 was accepted despite the old style of game play, it would do really well as a Star Wars KOTOR game too!
Somehow the kotor music playing while showing BG3 gameplay oddly fits well. I'm crying from utter happiness with the news on the game. I can't wait to hear more.
Hopefully they just remake the damn game instead of soying it up. You literally have the entire blueprint in front of you, just update the graphics and gameplay to current standards and make the damn thing! These devs hate money, I swear
Hopeful, but I won't believe it's out until I'm playing it
Only a small amount of hope has been given. Been waiting years for this remake. No one wants some cinematic bs action-adventure weakness, we want an immersive, comprehensive RPG. Something with high replayability. Very small amount of hope for this
Help me saber!! Your my only hope
Had to double check this wasn't posted on April Fools day.
I wouldn't do that to you
Me too
I’m not inclined to tote the line of question presently but I do have this to say. Balder’s Gate definitely signaled a wake up call, one that calls for a “Return to the Roots” as it were. And a game that has justified this Signal is the catastrophic failing of SS: Kill the Justice League.
A few things regarding mechanics as well:
1. I definitely would like to see a bit more Freedom in Combat Flow. Persona 5 Strikers is an excellent example of what I would wish for or even Kingdom Hearts (1 & 2 mainly).
2. Companion Interactions. The Persona Games are exactly what I would wish to see in this Kotor Remake.
3. And finally the Level Up Mechanics. Originally I thought Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor would have been a good look but upon reflection in keeping to the DND style in a Video Game, I realized that the God of War 4 & Ragnarok make way more sense.
🎉🎉 let’s goooooooo
Not holding my breath until I see some real concrete stuff
Hopefully it'll be a better remake than the utter crap they released lately... How could they screw up with Battlefront that badly?
@@the_revanchist_ Exactly... It should have been and yet they could not even re-release it properly.
Progress! They can now talk about it! XD Baby steps.
So here is the thing people. Development takes maybe 3-5 years barring any hiccups. Assuming that Sabar had started over after taking over this year then we are looking at a release year of around 2030 at most (giving a one year margin of error.)
I would guess sometime in 2028. Not sure what the licensing agreement looks like but they are usually pretty strict on deadlines. Hopefully they they can just use a lot of Aspyrs assets and not have to start from scratch.
@@punchykarma6685 They can use the assests as they are now property of Sabar and I doubt the licence agreement is so strict as to force a short development time line

when this finally drops,
I'm gonna go off the grid for a couple of weeks to beat this game to the fullest completion.

also 100% Star Wars Anakin Skywalker in his prime before he turned to the dark side and became Darth Vader surpassed and was above every Jedi including Kenobi but was below or equal to yoda and mace windu and also Anakin Skywalker again in his prime just like he defeated and killed Count Dooku by himself he could have would have done the same thing with Darth Maul and General Grievous one at a time or both at the same time because we all know how powerful and strong he was the chosen one the hero with no fear in his prime and before he turned to the dark side and became Darth Vader
im not worried about it not coming out, but really, it releasing full of microtransactions
I bet IGN or some other "Gaming" news site will claim that it is abandoned in a month or two. They have to get those clicks.
If it actually ever sees the light of day all I want is for it to not suck.
Please be good.
thank god aspyr handed the game to another studio, after the abomination that was the battlefront classic collection i dont trust them with shit anymore
Would hope it doesn't follow _too_ close to BG3 if it does. Don't need to click everywhere just to get around the map or to otherwise use a controller and have to go through 20 leaps and hoops to reach the inventory screen, don't need the game reminding me it's a D&D game every minute by showing a 20-sided dice with every interaction, and could hopefully be much less buggy on launch. Then it could be a decent Remake; somehow still sounds better than if they went the FF7R route.
I doubt that, the original let you move around freely. I don't see why they would change that.
@@route77productions I wouldn't, either. I just dislike the idea of emulating closer to a tackier, user-unfriendly system.
My big thing is I’m not a serious gamer, I have a really hard time with games that require a lot of quick time reactions or memorizing button combos, so turn based RPGS and strategy games that have deep stories are my jam, and the KOTOR games are some of my absolute favorites. So I’m really hoping the gameplay style doesn’t change a lot into something that would become inaccessible for me.
Knowing Disney that shits gonna be woke as hell
Slight correction on your video: you mentioned that BG3 reinvigorated the 'turn-based RPG'. While true, KotOR was not a turn-based RPG but used a real time with pause mechanic (RTwP). I think you probably meant party-based cRPG genre, which I agree with.
I actually meant the D&D dice roll mechanic but alas
I hope we see something as SGF this year.
It's not happening until I see a trailer and release date, Like majority of Star Wars games it'll probably be cancelled in a week or two again so I won't get my hopes up again.
