The girl in the center is having fun and it’s contagious. That’s important for stage presence.
Not only a drum talent but she is showing a lot of personality.
Amazing performance. And to think they are only High School kids. Use to go to those Taiko festivals all the time when I lived in Japan.
It wasn't until Ondekoza that women were allowed to do taiko at all. I'm so glad they broke those boundaries.
That girl in the middle haws really good stick speed.
I climbed Mt Fuji when I was stationed there in the Marine Corps....made the mistake of asking why we were climbing it...and got the answer, " Because it's there, now shut up and close the gap"!!!!
That was SERIOUSLY cool!! I saw a Taiko performance at (of all places) a jazz festival when I was in college, and it was mind-blowing! Would LOVE to see something like this in person again!

Anyway, have been suggesting this to other reacters---but you are the only one adventurous enough to get away from the usual big rock stuff ! Thank you !---the "Girl in the Middle",as she has come to be known is from another planet !---I just wish I could find other sources for her playing.....Did she turn professional??----Might she be a guest of the Wagakki Band?-----can you pleeeez find other videos of her? (Can't believe she stopped playing!)

Grade school Japanese musicians are often times frightening in their skill set.
Absolutely marvelous and completely mesmerizing! What talent and power and story telling within the performance. They should be very proud of what they did! And their faces say they were!
Generally, as a culture the Japanese can be quite reserved and deferential.
An yet, the expressiveness and power shown during the art of Taiko Drumming seems unmatched by any other musical performance.
Astounding.
It's not just the arms. Their quads are getting a similar workout to a hockey goalie.
Hi Courtney!! another good reaction vid of this Hiryu High School Taiko - Mt Fuji Taiko Festival :) this drums beat has a nice sound to it & this drums reminds me of that Chinese Luner New Year's parade where they move that dragon up & down in the air it whips out it's tail :) & they do martial arts too :) to show there honor & respect :)
Awesome. There's always a mesmerising quality to traditional Japanese performances and Taiko is one of my favourites.
I think the term you're looking about the girl is "intensity." And excellent choice on the glasses frames, btw - they really suit you.

Hey Courtney if those comments that were so shitty… I’m guessing was from us… Capital US then you know why he would want to move to New Zealand. I wish I was in a position to because I was born in Southern California and it is being destroyed from the inside out and I’ve met several Keewee friends and have considered reaching out because New Zealand is so much like Southern California, the only difference is when there’s a school massacre there are you guys just outlaw the guns and were too corrupt for that America is in big trouble and it’s a good thing you’re not moving here and I know you hesitated mentioning certain things on TH-cam so I will just say good on you guys and I had to sneak this in here because in the other videos comments were shut down. I would stay away for a while although I do think there is some thing about the American spirit they just solve problems
