I first watched this video in 2012 and have made it a point to watch it at least twice a year since then. I am 78 years old and in poor health but watching this video does more for me than all the pills and therapy in the world. Like many people, I am thrilled by the performance of this group and especially the girl in the middle that just lights up the stage with her performance. There has got to be millions of people around the world wondering whatever happened to the girl and only hope that she and the other kids in the group have grown into happy and successful adults. Thank you Japan!
Tell me the girl in the middle is still playing. She has so much 🔥 and passion for the drums . Not saying that the others also don't but she is something in her performance.
The team is from Hiryu High School, performing at the Mt. Fuji Taiko festival. I was charmed by their 2011 performance: th-cam.com/video/MMfFPCc7oxM/w-d-xo.html, especially the emotional intensity of the girl on the center three-drum set. A year later, it looks like the entire band has picked up on her visible intensity and excitement, and they're taking their lead from her. Taiko drumming can be awesome...that girl makes it an expression of pure joy!
The girl leading this group, @ 2:14 is totally focused, her concentration, the look on her face, and her eye's while playing is intense... I'm in love .. This high school drum corps would embarrass most college marching bands in America..

Remember, these are NOT professionals. These are members of after-school clubs.
