Crystal you will never know what you mean to me. I watch you everyday so I feel like you are one of my little girls. I am getting old (75) and not in good health so I crochet a lot. Everything knew that you do I watch. You have a beautiful family and that husband of yours seems to support you in all you do just like mine did. Thanks again for all you do to brighten my days. Love one another always and put God first.

Crystal I love the way you teach us how to do these stitches like the herringbone stitch! Some of the videos I see are not taught by talking to us and showing exactly how it is done. They point to a stitch and do it but there is no showing us how. Thank you for your kind patience and talking us through the stitches slowly so we can see and learn?

This is such a beautiful stitch!! I've been making preemie, small, and standard baby blankets to donate to an organization that gives these blankets to people whom have had stillbirths or miscarriages. This is a perfect closed stitch for snuggly blankets (with the right, soft yarn of course!). Thank you. 💕

  • @theresaplaczek3646

I just tried this stitch tutorial. I think I love it! It doesn't look as nice as yours, Mine is too tight maybe and because I have only been crocheting for six weeks, my stitches are not all even in length or thickness-tension issue probably again. I need to practice this one. As I said 8 days ago, I think I will use this one in my squares-of-different-pattern afghan. Just when I was getting down and disheartened about not being able to succeed with someone else's pattern, especially just trying to do it from written instructions in a book, I come back to you, and you have these easy to stitch and you show it and teach it so well with the many repeating of what you are doing, and I get to feeling more confident and excited to continue stitching. Thank you so much for your tutorials.
I was trying to find some other stitches I found in a book but it doesn't seem you offer them, and you are the Best Teacher. I am looking for Ledges which says rows of half double crochet stitches alternate with double crochet stitches which are worked into the back hoop only.
Also looking for Basic Shell. and then Etched Half Doubles where you have alternate rows of half doubles with rows of slip stiches. I thought my slip stitches were loose enough, but when I tried to go into it, I had to really struggle with getting the hook through.
I also seem t have trouble with just double crochet having what I think is to much space between stiches, making the pattern be too open for my liking; maybe that is what just a row of double crochet looks like?

I have learned so many stitches from you, I love that you show you work so close up, I know exactly what stitch to put the crochet needle in. Most don't they have it too far away from the camera I can't tell. With this stitch I was struggling with that first loop, I have a natural reaction to yarn over... once I got over that I wasn't holding it in a position I could get it in that loop, then I watched you do it again and saw you had your finger sort of holding the yarn. Tada! I have learned too many stitches .. I have 3 projects started and 8 sample swatches of new stitches. I have decided to finish the baby blanket and my dad's scarf before doing anymore. Cuz I have an order of yarn coming and my next scarf is going to be in this stitch. I love it.
A huge thank you from a beginner. . I knew SC, DC and TC and that's it... you inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and try others. Thanks again

I have been looking for an easy, closed stitch for ages. I love this, thank you. Now I want to know how to add a contrasting border to it :)

Crystal I started to teach myself to crochet at the start of lockdown in the U.K March 2020.. I stumbled across you and of course Mr Bod and I am now obsessed. I have tried so many of your projects and discovered I’m a serial starter … just to see if I can 😂 my husband shakes his head when the postman brings me more deliveries of loveliness .. currently exploring hand dyed yarn .. thank you so much for your fabulous tutorials .. and making this very strange time productive and dare I say fun . Xx

Crystal, I think this is now my favorite. For whatever reason, it seemed very easy to pick up on. As I'm crocheting I always repeat each stitch and pretty soon it just has its own rhythm. I hope this makes sense. I just love your tutorials. You're a wonderful teacher. Violet (Vi)

I love that you are so thorough. I started crocheting less than a month, and I have already made 3 beanies. Now, I am about to make this Herringbone blanket for my 1 year old granddaughter.
I attempted the Shell Puff stich but I didn't like how it came out. 😅
Thank you so much. Keep crocheting...keep teaching

One of my favorite stitches! I have some alpaca/silk blend I purchased at an alpaca farm that I've been hanging on to waiting for the right project to come along. This is going to be it! I'm going to make my SO a beautiful scarf with this stitch. He's always complaining I never make him anything, but then doesn't want anything he sees me make. Men! I'm going to make this and put a tag on it where one would be if I bought it. He may not notice for a while. I think it will be gorgeous.

@@BAGODAYCROCHET I really like the way you start a new row with this stitch. I emailed my cousin a link to one of your Etsy patterns, and told her I watch you on TH-cam... Nobody else in the family crochets, so I normally have no one with whom to share videos. I don't believe Cousin Sue reads patterns, so I told her about your scads of video tutorials for every type of project. I love a stitch pattern without a "multiple" to work with when adapting to one's own projects. I enjoy your videos tremendously! I was looking at thumbnails and grinning like a fool, seeing you and dear Mr. Bod, and even a tutorial with your daughter modeling the dress. I think that was Rose. 🤗🥰
