Neeher thanks for the tutorial! FYI for those who are on Windows like myself, but too cheap for Photoshop. I use L3DT which is free now and Nvidia's Texture Tool Exporter, not the plug in and saving in "32f R 32bpp | floating point" Fallout 4's Construction Set imported without problems. Thanks again Neeher if you didn't bring up Nvidia Texture Tool, I wouldn't have been able to do it.
Hey. Thank you so much for the video. I did have a question or concern. When I am saving my new height map as a DDS using the Nvidia plugin, the plugin crashes photoshop. I am using CC18. Utilizing the other save as a DDS option I'm told that my image size needs to be in multiples of 4. I'm not sure what to do now. Any insights would be valuable.
Hey Neeher, i know this is a bit of an old video but I'm having trouble finding an answer. Do you know the conversion factor from 33px to meters? Im Importing a large height map and want to be accurate with its sizing. Any help would be great with this.
Heya Neeher, thanks for the video. I was curious as to why ya didn't use the clouds filter? But it's cool that the import heightmap works now. It never did in Creation Kit for legendary edition
Hi Neeher...I edited the world space first...and forgot to set the height map....But now the player's location and map marker won't show in my pip map...what should I do ?
hi neeher,After I know how to create a height map, Do you know how to set a world map in the game? because most of my worldspace's map still be commonwealth,,,
Hmm, I'm not entirely sure. Gimp is the go to program for working with DDS when one doesn't have Photoshop. The problem is that I don't know if there is a DDS plugin that can do a 32 bit grayscale floating point DDS export that the Creation kit requires. I'd suggest trying out Gimp plugins and if nothing then try a free trial of photoshop for this.
@@Neeher Yeah, gimp-dds (the plugin that I use for DDS files) does not have support for 32 bit floating point exports. I might try the trial version for a day or two. Is the DDS export option part of PS itself, or is it an add-on?
It too is a plugin, you will need the nvidia texture tools, link in description. This plugin is out of date as everyone now uses Intel Texture Works plugin but I'm not sure if it can do this special dds export like Nvidia can. So, since it isn't a big deal (and you can have both plugins installed at once) I went with what I know works. But for everything else, use Intel Texture Works. It has much better compression.

Doesn't appear to work for SSE edition either. :/
been wondering how to make terrain in the creation kit thanks heaps
Ah, I'll have to get more in depth on landscaping. One of my more favorite things to do lol.
that would be great i wand to make a new land mod one of these days like the size of far harbour
Will do!
My creation kit doesn't have the heightmap import under the world tab, only heightmap edit. What do i do now?
I've never heard of that lol. My best guess is that t is an old version of the CK. This one is for Fallout 4.
@@Neeher sorry didn't see the reply. I have the SE creation kit. So i guess they removed this feature or something. :(

so my ps doesnt look like this, i guess because its older. BUT my photo shop wont let create a canvas that is 993x993... what am i missing here

Yeah you need to create your map and set it in the worldspace form. Then for it to appear in the pipboy you must generate LOD.
@@Neeher Thank you ,I think your word helped me a lot.So I must generate LOD!
How can i export skyrim height map?
Thanks!
My ideal resolution is 33x33 how can i change it?
You need to change the "From cell, to cell" values
Nice browser brah
How would I do this without PS?

Paint .net also does not support it.
@@patriciairwin9491 Why is that related to the question?
Also, why would I use software that's M$ windows only?

God thank you i thought you ignored my comment :)
