Great Day in San Timoteo canyon this weekend! I was set up near Upper San Timoteo Canyon, MP555 on the Yuma Sub.
Got some great overhead views and awesome train Audio of the power and tonnage going by! Crank up the volume! 🔉🔊😎
First up a short Westbound hit the detector at MP558, so I took off and got ready for them. As they approached I heard another horn in the distance of an Eastbound climbing the canyon! So I followed the short Manifest that was approaching hoping to get a nice meet with the Eastbound. It worked out pretty good.
The Eastbound was a Monster Stack Train with over 220 cars, climbing Eastbound. They were doing about 10mph up the hill here!

UP's stack trains are always so colorful between the pink "ONE' green Evergreen and EMP, orange Schneider containers etc.,..and the high def camera you are using these are so nice to look at.

favorite ws 11:25 with engines roaring, and they do that for hours. Wish my car would do that.

This one had more interest for me on a political note account the 3 mile long train.
BUT your filming is extraordinary.
It's satisfies the railroader in me as well as the photographer in me.
