From NCAA 1500 champion to Olympic 800 bronze medalist, all in the same year
This race was so stacked and we didn’t even know it at the time 😂
If you think about it, Josh Kerr and Craig Engels got destroyed in this race, and they were World Championship qualifiers in 2019
Exactly what I was thinking!!
3 years of solid training made them
Way better than what they were in 2016
Kerr was also only 18 or 19 back then so a bit of natural development would’ve helped too
And now Kerr is an Olympic medalist
And now he's the WORLD CHAMPION!
4 of these guys signed to Brooks Beasts and 3 of them were in the top 4, nice grabs Brooks
And the 4th went on to win 3 NCAA titles and break the collegiate 1500m record
Clayton is now taking it up with Akron about their program being cut, and I say good for him! They need to keep running there
Brooks really recruited everyone from this class
Most of these guys went pro
Yorks from UW made that race what it was, going out in the first 400m in sub-57 was amazing
this was maybe a second (probably less at the time) off the ncaa record in the championship final, wow
And so much of it was the last lap, which makes it even more crazy
Now half of that field are in the Brooks Beasts lmao
this field was stacked
2:00 that high jump was insane
Fr tho 😂😮💨
Murphy ‘walks away from the guys’😂. For real though! Always love watching bide his time then look fresh and fancy as he blows by.
Finally my prayers have been answered
best championship race i’ve seen so far. anyone know any better ones?
top 7 all current pros wow
Too bad the Akron xc program got cut. :/
How tf do they go that fast. Ik they train a lot but it’s still hard to imagine maintains that speed for that distance.
L8ve this guy's technique
That's a very fast time
1:32 that’s Sam Prakel not Blake Haney, you guys have one job
they corrected it
Landyn Cooke-Bithrey later on but still. It’s not my job to commentate these races but I can tell the difference between Prakel and Haney in an instant
“Hey I’m going for my afternoon jog where I plan to win NCAAs in a near collegiate record. Anyone wanna join me?”
And then Akron got rid of their running programs....
so stacked
That looked so easy
WHAT HAPPENED AT 1:15? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Bruh there are like 6 current pros in this race and 4 of them are on the Brooks Beasts lmao
4 future brooks beats in this race
1:19 was the guy in white disqualified for pushing the other guy out our did red drop out himself?
“Im just a kid from akron”
Hey ya all Jesus loves you! I hope that news makes your day better! Have a good one!
Imagine the time if this was a mile race.
Not for sissies? Rethink your commentary.
when did he say that? (im not saying he didnt i honestly didnt hear)
1:07
Agreed. You're not wrong.
Yeah I've never really liked that commentator
