My projector is supposed to have the capability to work with lightning to usb on the unit. In theory, is there any advantage to using HDMI instead of this method? Picture quality for instance?
I will get this adapter because although the USB method is supposed to work, it only works with certain cables and certain iphones and I cannot figure out why.

QUESTION: I have a big boomblaster-speaker, with build-in Blutooth capability.. If I use the Apple HD-adapter between iPhone and Projector (watching NetFlix) is it then NOT possible to also connect the sound, via Blutooth, between iPhone and boomblaster at the same time? The reason I’m now doubtful is because you mention, that the sound will automatically be transferred to whatever device you’re hooking up to, when using the Apple HD-adapter? (In this case my projector) So because of that, maybe it’ll instantly block the ability to also hook up Blutooth, just for the sound, between iPhone and speaker?

Yes, I believe you can stream your audio to one bluetooth device while you're connected to a projector/tv using a hdmi cable.

Super helpful video. So if it’s not the Apple one it won’t show Netflix? I have a generic one from Amazon and it works mirroring the phone but Netflix and my spectrum app won’t play.
From my research, streaming services has their own encryption to now allow them to project.

Sounds like a bad digital signal. I would try a different hdmi cable.
I just got a NICPow projector and I can't get my iphone to display via the projector. I used the HDMI cable and I have the Lighting Digital AV adapter. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks.

My projectors Doesn’t have an hmdi plus on my epson projector H354A, I purchased an lightening plug from apple for my iPhone and I bought an hmdi with a 15 pin plug to connect to my projector but I still don’t get a picture from my iPhone through the projectore

Sometimes it depends on the app that you use. Some apps won't output video through the HDMI adapter that we use in this video.

Doing everything the same the projector is cutting off the bottom half of my screen, I can't change the aspect ratio when the phone is plugged in and I cant find any overscan or underscan settings. I have an Epson 3020 projector, If I use my Apple TV it's perfect. Only when I try to use my iphone, any suggestions?

When I plug in iPad to projector the Bluetooth speaker turns off. Can you explain how to get sound to work?
The sound goes over the HDMI cable. You will need to connect a speaker to your projector.
Thank you for this very nice and helpful video. However, the reason why Apple changes so often some "security" aspects of the lightning connector are most probably because they want to sell their own overprized cables and connectors. That's also the only reason why I believe that they still use the lightning connector on the iphone instead of usb-c.

Help!! I got a new projector 2 weeks ago. Worked fine to cast from iPhone via official Apple lightening to hdmi connector. All of a sudden, it won’t work at all now to cast my phone screen. Tried resetting both devices several times, but the projector just keeps saying no hdmi signal

You should just be able to connect your Xbox directly to the projector without an adapter.

Does it work on a computer
My projector has 2 USB ports and HDMI ports. When I connect my Android phone via USB, it does nothing. Any ideas?
Use HDMI. The USB ports are generally only used for USB drives with a very limited list of acceptable file types.

Do you need power to the lighting adapter?
No, but i believe there’s a separate port you can plug your phone charger into so you can charge the phone while it’s connected to the adapter

Are you using the official apple adapter? It sounds like a HDCP issue which is common with 3rd party adapters

this is a late reply, but netflix on certain devices blocks mirroring to prevent plagiarism! hope this helps!

Sounds like you might have a bad cable.
How does the sound work?
Great question. You can use bluetooth to a sound bar (or similar), use the projector speaker, or take the headphone output of the projector into your sound system
I tried to Bluetooth it to my sound bar and it didn’t work and I tried it with the aux cord and still nothing, no sound

If you have an Apple TV connected to your projector you could AirPlay to that.
