I would use something like an Apple TV as a receiver for the TV. Laptop > Apple TV > TV The Apple TV can be paired with your bluetooth headphones so you can hear the audio as well.

I think you'd be happy with anything from Epson or Panasonic. Don't get tempted by the garbage on Amazon. Once you get the projector you just need a HDMI cable and a MultiPort Adapter from Apple.

Great Video. I have an Epson projector. I use it through Yamaha AVR system. On my new laptop Dell i am not able to get sound on the Sound system when I connect laptop to it using hdmi. In Sound settings I do no see the option for speakers other than laptop. Any suggestions please?

I have an older acer 1265 and an old notebook. The notebook doesn't have VGA ports. Anyone know what I can try next?

You probably need to change the input on your projector, restart everything, or replace the HDMI cable.

Most laptop video cards do not support both outputs at the same time. You need to pick one.

Then you'll need to use VGA from your computer instead of HDMI.
