Genius is the operative word. Federer hits shots routinely that Nadal, Novak and the rest of us ca only dream of. If given the choice we tennis players would all choose to play and hit shots like Federer. But even today’s young pro stars and future stars know they don’t have the skills or talent so must use two hands, western forehands and predominantly baseline game to compete and win like the exceptional but mortal games of Novak and Nadal. Only Federer can play at a peak often called “God-mode”. Federer’s not just genius, he’s a creative artist, a pioneer and first man to 20 slams with a game that wins on fast and slow surfaces and would have won even in the small, heavy wood racquet era.

@@felixy23 At least at the recent Laver Cup in Berlin we could see his hitting some warmup shots with current higher-ranked players!

One thing you notice is a lot of those shots didn't have to be nearly so good but he still went for the lines. Often any shot into the open court would have done but Roger was confident to hit his targets

Tomáš Berdych......could be another Ivan Lendl. What a pity.

    • @bensportraitpainter6742
      @bensportraitpainter6742 หลายเดือนก่อน

Tomáš Berdych made it into an exclusive class of only 7 players who won 6+ matches v. Federer in his 25-year career (6-20 H2H)! TB particularly had a 5-3 positive H2H time, 2010-2013 including a US Open and Wimbledon upset in the middle of their nearly 1.5 decade rivalry.
      2. Del Potro also had a similar H2H at 7-18 to RF breaking through to win the 2009 US Open.
      3. Hewitt had a slightly better H2H (9-18), having a good start to Fed winning 7/9 of their first matches then losing 16/18 last to Fed.
      4. Nalbandian (beat all of Big 3 multiple times and won a Tour Finals) had a better H2H (8-11), winning first 6/6 (including 1998 Jr. US Open F) to Fed, then lost 11/13 last matches.
      5. Murray had the best losing H2H to Fed (11-14), also won early 6/8 then lost 12/17 to Fed.
Nishikori also had a chance to win US Open in 2014 and had 3-6 H2H to Federer which isn’t bad.
…Only Djoker & Nadal have more match wins to Federer and have a slightly positive H2H v him.
      6. Djoker: If he didn’t win any 2 of the 1 slam F & 2 slam SF he had to save match points, then their H2H would be 25-25. I consider the 2019 the greatest Wimby runner up effort of a 37.9 year old GOAT losing in a 5 hour marathon in the 5th set tiebreaker after 12-12 to his younger (by 6 years!) of 2 great rivals despite outperforming in games and matches.
      7. Nadal seems to have the best H2H over Federer, but if Fed wasn’t so lopsidedly negative on clay (2-14) which only make up 30% of ATP tournaments, they would’ve also had an equal or different H2H (on hard c. RF led 11-9 and on grass 3-1, especially winning the last 6/7 matches!).

Wish I still had friends who play tennis granted I only played my last year of HS. I still go to the courts with my daughter to hit with her and practice serving. More people should get into it if they trying to get in shape or just looking for another hobby to pick up, such an underrated/overlooked sport. Also if you have Mexican friends tell em to bring a soccer ball👍🔥😂 don’t know if it has an official name but soccer tennis could be a thing too if it isn’t already

Welcome Djoker-only fan Travis to one of the sea of our GOAT Fed’s peRFection highlight videos!
Some say, “Federer is no longer GOAT”?
Yet what do these facts say?
      1. 👑 of Wimbledon -Most prestigious 🎾 🏆
      2. 👑of US Open -Biggest 🎾 stage (23k+)
      3. Consecutive 237 weeks No. 1 (4.5 years)
      4. 90%+ won 4 seasons (Big 3 high 95.3%)
      5. Record of 14 slams in 6 years
      6. Most matches and tournaments in Big 3
      7. Greatest positive impact on 🎾
      8. Overcame initial great losing H2H trends: Nadal (RN led on clay 14/16 as RF led on grass 3/4; RN won first 9/15 in 2005-‘13 on their most competitive hard c. then RF won last 5/5 or last 6/7 all courts so ended with 14-10 non-clay H2H, just 4 wins shy of overall tie), Murray (AM won first 6/8 in 2006-‘09, then RF won last 12/17 especially 5/5 H2H in ‘15), Agassi (AA won 3 in ‘98-‘02, then RF won 11), Hewitt (LH won 7/9 in ‘99-‘03, then RF won 16/18), Nalbandian (DN won 6/6 in ‘98-mid ‘03, then Fed won 11/13),
P.S. for Novak fans on Fedjokovic H2H: 👏 to ND earning most total wins playing +10 than the Fedal 40 matches-chasing titles by any legal means in rivalry to tie H2H after 10 years, even edged RF at 1 slam F & 2 slam SFs overcoming match points-if RF won any 2 of these 3 matches, the 15-year H2H ties. Especially 👏 winning the ‘19 slam marathon final of 5 hours edging RF in the 5th set tiebreaker 13-12 (3), when 6 years younger than his 37.9 years-old opponent outperforming + points & + games.
In the Big 3, Fed was pioneer raising 🎾’s level highest with a continuous 4.5 years no. 1, Rafa the most passionate topspin competitor, and Nole the most trophy-persistent Big 3 closer.

@bensportraitpainter6742 don't forget he's 1st AND 2nd in most consecutive major final appearances (10,8) and most consecutive major semis (23) which is almost double compared to next most
Also has most undefeated win streaks vs players in 5 meetings or more, 1 of which is 16-0 over David Ferrer who is one of the best players ever to not win a major and has wins over the other big 3, even one of Rafa on clay and Djokovic on hardcourt
