I love how Korea does their fried chicken, but nothing beats Japanese Karaage for me.
Why haven't I seen this channel until now? And why so few subscribers? My new favorite channel!
Thanks for your comment. We hope you keep watching this channel!
Chef Osawa is so talented! He has such good understanding of flavours, texture and technique. I was searching for the right karaage chicken recipe, this is perfect. The scallion and ginger water makes a HUGE difference in the recipe. The most underrated cooking channel!
Thanks for your comment! We hope our channel will spread to the world!
I tried this recipe and cooking technique. Amazing taste dan so crispy. Thanks Chef Osawa
@@japanesetopchefs3173 Thank you for this channel. I miss Japan :)
I tried this method and the result was amazing! The chicken was so juicy inside yet super crispy on the outside. What I really like about this method is the fact that I can cut my chicken into bite size hence reduce frying time, retain the juiciness of the chicken (often difficult to do with small bite sized meat), the oil doesn't get burnt with frying flour for a long time that dropped into it
This is the type of crispness I’ve been searching for! It’s worth the extra time it takes to get this amazing result.
Thank you for your comment!
i love how Chef Osawa gives crisp and simple explanation. He is the best. And the chicken looks lightly golden, showing that there is less acrylamide
Thank you! His recipes so good!

Hi, what oil did you use to fry the chicken? Thank you Chef.
this is the texture that i wanted so long long time ago thanks chef for the ration of flour and cornstarch.
Thank you for your comment!
what did he put in the chicken marinade?
Thank you for the clear explanation for every step, Chef!
Certainly one of the best checken karage recipes I've come across.
Thank you 😊
what dishes go well with karaage?
❤️❤️❤️
when your fried chicken is so good your only condiment is a mini slice of lime
Arigato! Daisuke karaage!
❤
👍👍
What oil should I buy to make this?
Chef,
How long will it take to cook, to 80%?
It's very different from how I've been making it, but looks very yummy! I prefer 100% potato starch rather than a flour/starch mixture, and I usually grate ginger + garlic into soy sauce, sake, and mirin and let the chicken marinate in the mixture for 30 mins - 1 hr before coating and frying.
This method seems a lot faster, I'll have to try it some time.
Did you make it? Your original method is how I'd do it also, so I wonder if you got better results.
Vidio arigatou , korekara tsukurimasu

Add some gochujang hot sauce on it and its Korean
Hmmm Most karaage recipes I've seen use garlic. I notice he didn't. 🤔
Looks simple enough for me to do but I don't think I can afford that much oil lol.
... that's like $5 of oil
