Spaniard here. The reason the Spanish anthem has no lyrics is because it used to be a military march. Later it was given francoist lyrics, which were removed at the advent of democracy. There have been some proposals to give it lyrics again but it has been impossible to come up with ones that aren't controversial. So the real reason the anthem has no lyrics is quarrelsomeness.

To answer Drew's question at 5:17 with a very basic explanation; The English language lacks what's known as "agreement marking" which is when the form of the word changes depending on the other words it relates to. For instance in Romance Languages the word changes depending on if the subject of the sentence is male or female grammatically. Because English doesn't have these the only way for an English speaker to determine the subject and object of a sentence is by having a very strict word order.

It made not be the case when it comes to anime, but France is the second biggest consumer of manga behind Japan itself. And it comes a long way : France had its first anime broadcasted on TV in 1972 (Kimba the White Lion, which was known in France as Le Roi Léo) and by 1978 japanese animation was so popular that a famous magazine (Paris Match) used an image of Grendizer (called Goldorak in France) as its front page. Seeing this success, various mangas were published in France in the late 1970s, and the public's affection for it has grown so much that many mangas are only published in Japan and France, no other country being considered interested enough to be worth the risk.
France represents 40% of the whole European comics market, and around 40% of its comics market consists of mangas, and it grows with each passing year.

Italy was actually one of the first countries to import anime PERIOD. Some shows are ingrained in italian culture, such as lupin the 3rd, captain tsubasa (we call it holly and benji), the rose of versailles (lady oscar here) and many more. We especially loved giant robot shows, basically every go nagai mecha was imported here (there's also an italian superhero movie from a couple years ago called "they called him jeeg robot" which has nothing to do with the actuall anime, save for the fact that a character is a huge fan of it and starts calling the protagonist jeeg. Watching anime is something that has basically been mainstream since the 80s, but they were simply cartoons to us italians
as far as I know Spain and Italy got most of the anime from France, France is the first weeb in europe.

We also got a couple more animes starting in 1977 like Barbapapà (a japanese-dutch coproduction) and heidi, so we basically started at the same time! About why English has to be said in a certain order and not randomly: it is because English does not have cases. They got lost as the language developed. Latin for example has six, so the order of words (technically) does not matter.
True, the word function is determined by its location in the sentence (and by some linking words like prepositions...) or by a variable form (cases...)

As Drew said, plenty languages have loose grammatical orders. Slavic languages do that as well. There's no reason to point out each singular language. There'd just be too many to bother with.

That's why when the Turkish guy said "hey, this is actually a feature in my language" I said "it's actually super common, not really a stand out feature worth talking about". Ok, if the "not worth talking about" offends you, then fine, just imgaine I dropped it. I'm still correct in my assessment. And that burger comparison wasn't applicable. When you say "I ate a burger" " hey, me too" that's a simple exchange of activities.
Try saying "you're from holland" to someone from Brabant or Friesland (two provinces with quite distinct and proud cultures) to get the party started

As an English speaker, even though English pronunciation can be really random, if I see a new word, I always know how to pronounce it (but I pronounce it incorrectly on purpose sometimes) and if I hear a word, I automatically know how to spell it. There is no reason why a human should be able to understand English spelling this well. I think it's magic.

France having a lot of weebs is accurate. Most people under 40 grew up with anime, and the most purchased books by teens are mangas. It was a bit harder when I was young to openly like anime outside of DBZ, Naruto and shonen anime, but when I got to highschool, anime was already pretty much as essential to your social life.
sometimes, atleast a half of anime-enjoying people i have seen is most likely a weeb and makes anime a part of their personality, keep talking about animes and referencing animes, and make animes essential to their life as if they'd die without it.

that last one sounds perfectly fine if one puts "thee" in place of "you". and "didst" in place of "did".

that's mostly due to how the Club Dorothée (a very popular kid's/teenager's show on TF1 back in the 90s) would play anime during downtime because it was cheap
so French and Walloon gen X and older millenials grew up watching a lot of it, especially the kind that was cheaply animated and more akin to a slideshow
hence they switched to manga when animations got more fluid

Yes, french are massive weebs. Due to insanely popular TV shows during the 80' 90's ("Le club Dorothée" the TV show with, in proportion, the highest audience rate ever) France is nowadays the biggest manga and anime consumer after Japan itself.
It is really interesting to see how children TV shows can have such a massive impact on the pop culture, even decades after they ended.

They host the second and third largest comic conventions in the world (Lucca Comics and Angouleme, with the first being Comiket in Tokyo).
The have the two biggest manga markets in Europe, with France being larger than the American one and maybe even bigger than a lot of asian ones, while Italy is a lot bigger when you compare the dimensions of the market with the dimension of the country and also if you realize that you can only sell Italian-language manga in Italy and nowhere else.
That's why italians and french consider themselves the biggest weebs on the planets alongside the Mexicans
