A part of me wishes Tinkaton was way more powerful with something like Huge Power or an ability that allowed it to do more damage to Steel types cause right now, it's prey wall it out pretty hard. But the other part of me remembers the other 2 Steel/Fairy menaces and thinks "y'know what, I'll just take my 160 base power move with little drawback and be happy."

    • @jonmcknight18
      @jonmcknight18 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I think gigaton hammer is the reason for Tinkaton's low base attack but pairing it with swords dance and it becomes a monster

  • @ralpbeez8414

It's a common misconception that Tinkaton is strong against Corviknight.
What the pokedex entry says is that it's "daring" (reckless, willing to take great risk) because it's NOT a good match up against Corviknight. That's why it's daring to attack it. Even moreso than just, "because Smogon says it gets Walled statistically," Tinkaton doesn't learn any super effective moves against Corviknight (and weirdly few hammer moves).
Bisharp is the actual mon they hunt for their hammers (subtly implied to be the reason for Kingambit's gimmick as a result). Corviknight's dex entry doesn't mention what mon preys on it, and there are a number of dangerous pokemon in Paldea that it actually could be. There's also a...farfetched idea that shiny tinkaton's hammer is made from shiny corviknight despite not being the same color, which I can only imagine is people sunk too deep into the Tinkaton is an unbeatable badass meme when it is really a strong pokemon who is so overconfident it attacks opponents even when it's a bad idea to do so.

Doing some rough back of the napkin math, google will tell us that the average compressive strength of stone is about 100 MPa. If we assume a small 1 cubic meter rock. It would require 100 meganewtons of force to break it. To determine the speed of the shot capable of doing that we have to estimate heavily. For simplicity let’s just say Arbolova is using a blast comparable to 10% of itself. So the oil would have a surface area of .0196 meters and a mass of 4.82 kg. So a 4.82 kg ball of oil that needs to a hive 100 MN of force would have to accelerate at a rate of 20,746,888 m/s^2. To find the speed let’s assume it takes 5 seconds for the oil to go from not moving to crushing the rock, the oil would need a speed of 103,734,440 m/s (232047334 mph)
Which sounds impressive but remember it’s not the speed that matters nor even the oil itself, it’s just how fast it accelerates. This vid has inspired me to make this calculation into a short lol.

    • @Condor-gb1xp

I actually looked into palafin and here's what I found
an average cruse ship weight around 200000 gross tons, a gross ton is 2240 pounds, so multiplying the two together shows that palafin can lift 448 MILLION POUNDS!, WITH ONE ARM!

The biggest issue with this video is one I keep pointing out in any theory or discussion about SV I find because everyone seems to make this mistake.
The entries for the Paradox Pokemon, including Koraidon and Miraidon, are not meant to be proper. Occulture is not a scientific magazine or research or anything, and the Scarlet/Violet book really just did looks and names, not full studies. And all of the entries are taken from the two and directly state that. Occulture is a "dubious magazine", not reliable information, and all the Pokedex entries state are "it resembles something from Occulture" or "it looks like something from Heath's Expedition journal".
This means that no, Scream Tail is not Jigglypuff a billion years ago, Iron Valiant is not the creation of a mad scientist trying to make the ultimate Psychic Pokemon, Iron Jugulis is not the offspring of a Hydreigon and a robot, and Roaring Moon has no connection to Mega Salamence. At least, beyond looks of course. Because that is all the information is based on, looks and rumours.
Obviously we know, from the story, that the Paradox Pokemon are from the past and the future, but despite looking like Jigglypuff, Scream Tail might not be related to it, and even if it is we have no idea how old it is.
Is it possible any of this stuff is accurate? Sure. But it's not guaranteed or confirmed. So while Roaring Moon might look like Mega Salamence, there is no actual confirmation of any connection beyond that. Including the power and capabilities.
Even calling Koraidon the Winged King or Miraidon the Iron Serpent is based on minimal research, namely their abilities and the little bit seen of how they act, like seeing the territorial fight of two Koraidon.
People need to stop taking Occulture articles as facts about these Pokemon. They aren't. They are the Pokemon equivalent of cryptozoologists and conspiracy theories.

8:44 Personally I'd say that Iron Valiant is more than just one of the more interesting ones. The fact that it's a fusion between Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade, as well as being a robot since it's a future form, it essentially becomes a gender-neutral(since Gardevoir is more feminine and Gallade can only be male) robotic Gallade from the future. If that's not the coolest concept for a Pokémon ever, I don't know what is.
