This is not what we Indians eat daily. All you ate and saw was fast food to us. We have a number of amazing dishes being cooked daily at home and are awesome and yes we not only survive but enjoy them the most.
Do you have any tips?
@@Hvezdy10 I may but first would like to know your preference of food, is it veg or non veg?
@@maddysingh9238 I don't mind either. Whatever you think is best.
@@Hvezdy10 Palak paneer, paneer bhurji, Matar Paneer, cholle, Rajma, Sarso ka Saag with bajre or makke ki Roti, Aloo Matar, Aloo Gobhi, Mix Veg, Pulao, Geeya ke kofte, Malai kofta, Kadhi, Daal etc all can be eaten with Roti (wheat flour), variety of Paranthas and rice. Even the most beautiful thing about Bharat is they have a cultural change in each state or zone where you can enjoy local dishes and their welcome.
Greatly said 👍
The thing about India is they mastered making savory filling dishes without meat and they dont try to make non meats masquerade as meats like we do in the USA.
That's only the trend in western countries because people are hell bent on consuming meat at least once every 2-3 days (some can't go even a single day without it), and they start whining and begging for meat if you give them anything green to eat. So the industry knows it's got to grow a perfect replica in a lab in order to cater to those kinds of people and make the product sell better.
lol
That has also led to a point where Indian non-vegetarians do not really appreciate the taste of meat(and they are actually a slight majority).
@@unknownperson3691 xD Yes
In Navratri n other holy festival , U will find 75% + of population avoiding meat, Fish, non veg
There's chaap which tastes exactly like meat but is veg. It's amazing as a guy who needs his gym protein through meat.
Went to an Indian restaurant with the kids on wednesday. Had a spinach paneer dish with naan. It's so tasty that you don't really notice there's no meat.
it's one of my favourite dish as well. In India it is called as palak paneer.
Are you british? Live in the UK. 90% of all "indian" restaurants are owned and ran by the bengolis that capitalised on the cuisine and culture boom, since the 60s.
So much so you don’t need to eat those “lab grown meats”

Omg this is only comment which had name of Indian Foods which we eat in Homes daily
Mostly people just talk about Fast Food we Eat Outside like Pani Puri, Samosa etc
The food you saw roadside and veg food we cook in our homes are totally different.... You can find thousand of dishes we make everyday in our homes in different part of India.... All have unique taste and without meat obviously

Its like walking into Burger King and exclaiming.... WOW, This whole country lives on a diet of Soda Pop and Ritalin.... oh.... wait.....
It's a video about street food.
I think most people think of curries when they think of desi food, but yeah, this is obviously not what most people eat at home.

That's why they put so much seasoning on their meats, because the meat is on its way to rotting sometimes before they cook it.
They are disgusting people, most of them shat in a hole or a community gutter before they came here
This is plainly incorrect.
These are the street side food which we don't eat on a daily basis. There is huge variety and healthy options which we cook at our home, the options are so tasty here that we never think like we're missing on something

Cottage cheese is actually not at all bad for your health like other types of cheese available in the market. It is full of protein and a very healthy alternative to meat
That's why it's not as tasty as other cheeses
why do you think its better than other cheeses?
Paneer is usually eaten for its texture and nutirents , not taste (although I steal small cube whenever my mom cooks it), and thus we have variety of paneer dishes.
@@risah4765
Fat content that’s all, and the cheese which are introduced to us are full of fat content. Paneer is considered better in that terms, and tofu better than paneer but not in taste.
@@azeemuddinkhan923 Although cheese is nutritious, it contains a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol, which is unhealthy for your heart. A 100-gram portion of cheese contains 18 grams of saturated fat and 100 milligrams of cholesterol, whereas a 100-gram serving of paneer contains 1.7 grams of saturated fat and 17 milligrams of cholesterol. As a result, paneer is the clear winner here.

As a Sri Lankan life without chicken, pork, mutton and seafood is unimaginable to most of us. Really cool how Indians do not rely on meat unlike the rest of the world.
This video showcases just Northern part of India. Majority of the population lives in other parts where meat and fish is eaten commonly.

I love meat, but India is the only country I could be vegetarian in, it's just that easy.
Here's a trick I learned from the locals to deal with an 'upset tummy', as they say.
Get any cola drink(Coke, Pepsi etc.) and shake it until all the fizz is out. Then sip-sip-sip all the way till the time you go to bed. Worked like a charm. But be sure to get rid of the carbonation completely.

I love Indian food, both the vegetarian and meat options, but it's just intimidating to see so much oil and butter is being used in some of those places. Frying something 3 times? Frying bread that's already cooked? Damn
The chole with naan and the mung bean pizza were my favorites 👌. Thanks for the content!
The street food is typically cooked like this. Home food is much healthier!
Not everyone fries it three times.
Mostly it's two times. And nowadays it's lesser oil and fat. And lesser spices too.
But old traditional shops continue old ways.
@@monishbeck3859 The more you know... Thank you 🙏
This isn't exclusive to Indian food. In "Kitchen Confidential", Bourdain talks about how restaurant food tastes better than home made food because of the amount of butter that's added to each dish.
It's street food, not normal food. There is a skinny fat issue in India but I think that's as much to do with the amount of rice they have.
I've made some Indian dishes, including Spinach Paneer, I love them, but really want that pizza!!!

People who are new to Indian food should know that we have a variety of options for street food, which we do not consume on a daily basis. Additionally, there is a diverse range of daily food options, varying from state to state, given that India has 28 states and 8 union territories.
However, it's important to note that dishes like palak paneer, naan, biryani, etc., which are often associated with Indian cuisine, are just a small representation. They are sometimes overhyped. If you want to delve deeper into Indian food, come to India, visit different states, and meet locals (not just street food sellers). Ask them for authentic food experiences that restaurants may not provide, as their focus is on efficient and easy service.

What they are preparing is called pambaso in Mexico 🇲🇽. Is really delicious. Our cuisines are in some ways similar 😅
Yes both cultures spice their cuisine like anything and it's great
I love Mexico from an Indian ( from American)
Indian and Mexican foods are similar at many levels except for meats. Coriander, kidney beans, tortillas, rice, curd are common in both cuisines.
My mom is vegetarian and when we first went to the US to visit our uncle (our first trip abroad, I was 10 years old), she survived only because of Mexican food!
1:27 "smorgasbord of bread types" is pretty funny because smörgåsbord in Swedish translates to "sandwich table".
Each item costs 50 Rs or more, I believe Delhi's pricing is on the higher side. It seems like there's a monopoly on prices here. In smaller cities, the prices are much more reasonable. For example, a tikki of the same level, or even a better one, costs 30 Rs, and a burger costs 15 Rs. Delhi may offer a variety of food, but it lacks authentic taste. If you're after genuine vegetarian flavors, go to smaller cities, where you'll find much better and distinct tastes than the profit-driven shops in Delhi.
Delhi ka test best hain bhai khaa ke dekhiye
Delhi is sea just like 3-4 big cities. You will get every cuisine. Only you have to travel in the city
Those are insanely cheap prices if coming from the west
Which city is that, I've found Delhi' s food to be cheapest 😂
I felt that the starting commentary was heavily negatively biased. The nutritional value of Indian food is such that world over nutritionists have started to realise it’s value.
I have been to other nations and honestly , our cooking begins where their meals end. Not demeaning any food culture here but just highlighting, that a normal Indian home cooked food is a perfect balance of nutrition and taste!

Def its best dish to replace your dinner sometime and have a good night sleep but have some ginger with water afterwards if you do not have not so strong stomach but I never had problem during my childhood.
India's obsession with vegetarianism especially the Hindus has created a unique food disorder called skinny-fat. Lack of protein intake causes a muscle deficit while the excessive carbs that replace the protein causes fat accumulation. The lack of muscle causes a lower than normal BMR which again reduces the amount of fat loss by natural means.
Amazing how the cooking surfaces and woks of most of these vendors are WAY cleaner then their western counter part. Just look at the nasty grills from his USA fares episodes.

Carbs are so abundant you'll get enough without paying attention. Most people eat too many, in fact.
They're needed, but not as a replacement for protein. Just like vitamins, minerals and fiber, they're one of a couple of kinds of nutrients your body needs. Whoever wrote this scenario was probably baiting comments like mine, or just stupid. Vegetarian diets need you to supplement protein with protein-rich plant foods, such as whey or certain types of mushrooms. I'm sure people in Delhi know how to handle that.
That's why idiots should not be allowed to portray their views on the Internet. I have been defending American food with my Indian friends and family since I understood the difference between fast food and balanced home cooked meals. All this food is street food and no Indian eats it everyday for their meals. We survive on Protein from lentils, paneer and yogurt which also provides us the good gut bacteria due to fermentation. We have our pickles. For fiber we have salad and curries and complex carbohydrates from Roti not limited to only whole wheat but millets and what not compensating for micro and macro nutrients. Our cuisine is an ancient cuisine designed according to various climatic and natural conditions.
Just like no one is eating pizza and burger here we don't eat this stuff at home.
