I am using some light tackle surf setups to target some whiting. These are some of the most fun fish to catch in the surf on light tackle. They don't every seem to let up and I say they are the craziest fish you can find in the surf!

Great video! Can't wait to get to fish with you in a few weeks. I grew up fishing inshore in South MS., what you call whiting, down there we called them ground mullet. No clue why the locals called them that, since they are not a mullet. But pound for pound, one of the hardest fighting fish out there. And double-de-damn-licious!!! Maybe they will still be on when we get there...
Whiting is way underrated and excellent table fare; they are hard fighters and their is no limit on them. They fight like a little red. Nice vid BAma!

Good show, light tackle on the beach ! Yes, thanks for showing that light tackle is fun and you can catch big fish in the surf. I like to use light tackle my self,Penn 4400SS,7ft rod. So many times I will see people with "ocean" type rigs fishing for whiting, pomps, etc . No fun or sport in that. Thank you, Tom ....Daytona Beach FL.

Great little tasty fish. I really have enjoyed watching your videos and have even learned a thing or two. Thats saying a bit from someone who has been surfcasting for about 35 years now. One thing i wanted to mention is being just about deaf i always use the close caption and its fun to guess what the last word is going to be on every video. We know you are saying stay bummy but the close caption never says that. This video it was stay foamy. I have seen funny sunny runny and many others once it even had nothing i guess it was just too confused. Lol keep up the great work and stay hummy. 😁
I really LOVE that little run they make right at the waters edge. Whiting are FUN on light tackle, but absolutely INSANE on ultralight 4# or 2# in those same conditions ;-)
