Being a software engineer I would like to comment on piracy and copyright violations. It's true that using the pirated versions of software is Haram according to shariah law/belief but some scholars say that it's permissible to use pirated software for personal use only and not for commercial use. Talking about a very common use case which is the use of pirated Windows in your system, the best option is to purchase one and it costs around Rs.13-30k depending upon where you buy it from but MS also offers the free version of it which after some time seize the use of some important features which may or may not bother you and I would personally recommend it unless you can afford to buy one, rather than using its cracked version. Also if you are a student, Microsoft and many other companies give special offers or even free access to their software, on the basis of your student email ID.

I do freelancing and use Autodesk 3ds max which costs $1,700 annually but as being a 3rd world citizen , the clients from west/Europe don't pay like what they pay in their own country . so its not possible for me to pay $1,700 Autodesk fee and that is why I use a pirated version of this software.
For the guy whose father is controlling his life; I can understand what you are going through. Your father is having symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder. He has been controlling and he will keep on doing that. You need to make certain boundaries to prevent your life from the toxicity of your father but be gentle because at the end of the day he is your father. It is hard to deal with people with personality disorders but not impossible. Be smart you can't change his behaviour patterns. Things don't work that fine with people who got personality disorders

our culture is more collective in nature whereas western culture is individualistic. In our part of the world if you call someone " kallu , chotu , motu , ganju they wont mind but as soon as u say something about family or caste or religion u are looking at some serious confrontation. In the west saying someone a MFK will be considered bad but calling names downgrading someones colour or physical arrtibire has serious consequences. So its more of how we look at us is the difference. We are trained here by our parents not to reticule someone 's someone's religion or caste or family or financial status. this is our sensitivity, western sensitivity comes when race or color is involved

For the guy whose father is controlling his life; I can understand what you are going through. Your father is having symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder. He has been controlling and he will keep on doing that. You need to make certain boundaries to prevent your life from the toxicity of your father but be gentle because at the end of the day he is your father. It is hard to deal with people with personality disorders but not impossible. Be smart you can't change his behaviour patterns. Things don't work that fine with people who got personality disorders
