He did seem genuine to an extent because I find it difficult to believe he had no idea about the damage to the boot floor, since it’s been on ramps ect and I doubt it’s damage that would be missed. Plus maybe it’s just me but I’d assume everyone has lifted their boot floor up at one point in time. Maybe I’m wrong.
Before the price was discussed, I was thinking £10000. Calvin was more than fair with his offer. I might be misjudging the lad, but I’m sure he knew about the boot floor, and his body language when he said he was losing a lot of money ( hand to face). My guess is he bought it as salvage and repaired it himself.
Me 2 10k was on the money, can't be nice to everybody, nobody will come bail you or his business out when he needs the money, i used to be the same when i was running my business. Had my car i30n mapped to 365 bhp, month later I got rid of the car, happens mate. Undercar weather protector covers the majority of the back and front side of the car. Easily possible to miss it

Car looks pretty well sorted except that boot floor. New refurbed wheels, Michelins, brakes etc - he’s spent cash in the right places. Glad you did a deal and the seller seemed to be a good guy. At least you know a good body shop!
My personal opinion is he fixed it himself and is trying his look because I'm not having it he has never looked under the carpet in the boot but its just my opinion
@@jacklifeonwheels I've worked on plenty, had 3 i30n's, serviced etc. When checking for damage you're mainly looking at the structual bracing. Not the under body. Also, who goes in the boot liner LOL, I've not once opened it in 4 cars.

I had an i30n performance from new in 2019 and loved the car - on long journeys it still managed 43/44 mpg - I got rid of the p zero’s within 2 months and put pilot sport 4S’ on all round and it made a massive difference
Definitely would have noticed that if it was on a ramp who doesn’t look in the boot when your buying a car never mind a cat s car but it’s still a lovely car for the money 😎

Just been reading the comments, this chap said he’s done the servicing himself since he’s owned it therefore he’s been underneath it and he works at a dealer, he has access to a ramp so surely he knows about the boot floor because that would be noticeable from the underneath!
I've got the Facelift i30N and its an absolutely unreal motor. Fair play to you on taking a risk with this salvaged one and hopefully its nothing more than the boot floor. Earned my sub here, great video and a generous offer considering all parties 👍

Buying category S cars privately from the midlands gets you one of two things - at best shoddy repair work that will cost you £££ to put right; at worst a ringer. Sorry, but can’t believe the lad is in the trade but didn’t look at it properly when buying - the fact he’s checked the legs at the back at a later date means he knew about the boot. Either well, felt for the lad here - we’ve all been there when we were young.
For sure the i30N is not targeted as an S3 competitor, as it's 2wd they were aiming at VW Golf GTi, Megane RS, Honda CTR and the like. I bought one new myself 4 years ago in Performance Blue after selling my manual 3 year old Mk7 Golf R as I just felt the R was a little bit dull in stock factory trim, grip and go but didn't handle anywhere near as well as a Megane RS 265 cup which I owned before the R. The i30N has loads of character, has a great chassis, the engineers even coded in the use of left foot braking without it upsetting the cars computers, the exhaust is mighty for a stock car, strong brakes way better than stock Golf R mk7, adaptive dampers, adjustable hydraulic limited slip diff, and they are fully loaded as the only option up until the face lifted cars was paint colour. Not too many around, 5 year warranty even for track use, in fact you can use them in hillclimb competitions without losing warranty, it only excludes competition when other cars are on track at the same time. Nice thing. I might have bought another but decided to pick up an A45 instead 😁

Bro worked at Hyundai for a while saw many gearbox issues some of which were these. They are cheaply built cars and it shows in some areas.
There is no comfort mode, it's normal, sport or eco.
N mode really isn't that bad on the suspension.
