Ducky One 2 Mini RGB White not working - firmware problem - Bricked Keyboard - Brand New

- I just opened this keyboard today. I'm really disappointed that it's bricked already. Is it faulty unit or a crappy firmware update ?
I also tried v1.01 v1.02 v.1.05 v1.06 and nothing works.
There is a Windows "ping" when I plug in the keyboard.
I also tried to uninstall all keyboard from device manager, it doesn't work either : • Ducky One 2 Mini Firmw...
Anyone have a solution?

I had the same problem but firstly check your keyboard model and download the right one from your browser then open the file, for some model they let you hold D for some they let you hold D and L before you plug the keyboard into your computer then press ok and replug your keyboard so it starts working again. Hope this helps ~.~

I had the same problem, here's how I think I fixed mine, I downloaded the 1.07 firmware, did the same steps but in a different USB port (different from original), then I plugged it back to my original and it's working fine. I'm not sure if it works for you guys

same thing happened to mine and I followed your advice. it worked. I havn't tried it with 1.10, but with 1.07 it worked just fine

I FOUND A FIX!!! So on the other side of your keyboard, there are little switches. Try putting them one way all the way, and if that doesn't work try the other side (Remember to unplug and replug to save changes) Like so others can see. Edit, mine say ECE 1234 on them, and i think they are called ECS switches so look it up if you have to.

I don't know how but I managed to fix it.
I installed v1.07 and everything was ok. Then I installed the v1.20 and something went wrong. My keyboard was fully broken.
So, I tried to install v1.20 with no success and installed the v1.07 again... And it worked!!!
Same happened to me. I install the v1.07 but it doesn't work.

Did you try to install it or it happened with the v1.07 itself?
Maybe you can try to install the v1.20 then if it's available for your keyboard, and reinstall the v1.07...
You have nothing to lose at that point.

Followed the installation instructions and I don't know how it came to life again

Hi everyone- I fixed my "bricked" keyboard by setting all 4 DIP-switches (on the back of the keyboard) to OFF. According to the manual that's the default setting, but on mine they were all set to ON, initially... Hope this helps

How we know its off ?
It says a specific keyboard article number next to the firmware update on the website so chances are, for any of you still searching, that you just installed the wrong one which is okay because you can still get the right one to fix it..

@@microfn3040 doesnt work, there's literally no connection at all nothing happens.
If this doesn't work for anyone then unplug the cable and turn off those little switches at the back and plug the cable back in again, this worked for me so it should hopefully work for you.

After I installed it, it stopped working. The update worked but my keyboard didn’t. I unplugged it then plugged it back in, and now it works!
Upgrade to the latest firmware and and then put on 1.09, started working straight away

Ok guys, i fixed my keyboard, by installing not the last firmware but the older one. My Keyboard is "the year of the Rat version" but Windows recognizes it as Ducky One 2 Rgb, so that firmware worked for me, i believe was 1.9 version instead of the 1.22 one.
how do you install older firmware?
@@Sevlis93 Go to the Duckey website for download, go into Mini Duckey One 2, download the 1.9 Version and follow the instructions. Download it, open it, You need to unplugg the mini usb cable of keyboard, keep pressed the D+L buttons while plugging the USB, the software will give you OK, confirm and press it, wait till it's complete, then it's done.
It doesn't allow me to click start please help me😢
For anyone with this issue still download the most recent one and then unplug and re plug it should work
I installed the firmware just before the latest and it got my keyboard working again
Just happened to me as well. Tried installing the 1.07 firmware for my One 2 Mini RGB and now neither of my PCs even recognize it when it's plugged in. No lights, no nothing. Tried the same tip on uninstalling the devices in the device manager, still nothing.
you might have downloaded an incompatible firmware update. this is known to brick ducky keyboards. check the model number on the back and see if it matches the one for the firmware update you downloaded. if this is the case you've found whats happened. i don't know how to fix this sadly but I'm sure you can ask around. good luck!

Yoooo I think u found a fix , delete all the keyboards in device manager and make sure the model number on the back matches the firmware update and re download the correct one , it fixed mine
@@krxsssss I did all of that. None of the keys work, so the driver won't even get to install. Even a second, separate keyboard wouldn't let it start. Ducky still hasn't even responded to my email either.
@@Yakiniku_Party contact the seller from which you bought the keyboard and ask for RMA
Delete all the old downloads check the box for your serial number press download, follow the steps and once you’ve done everything just unplug the keyboard and plug it back in and it should work
You have to see the P/N under the keyboard and download the firmware for your keyboard specifically. If you download the wrong one it shuts it off. Just fixed it

Even when I download the correct firmware it doesn't work. I returned the keyboard, support told me that the chipset was broken due to wrong firmware version and the they have thousands of keyboards who have same problem. What a shame, all due to poor web design (v1.07 is more recent than v1.20 that doesn't make sense)
Three years later, and I think I am probably gonna have the same problem. Downloaded incorrect version of Cosmic Byte Software to update my keyboard and it's completely turned off not detected by PC @@PogU_4Life

I mistakenly downloaded the wrong firmware update I had forgotten to read the code on the box! Thanks for reminding me!

So I had exactly the same issue - no lights coming on, PC not even recognising the keyboard when plugged in. Downloaded the 1.09v firmware and pressed D+L and then started the firmware. Installed it. Nothing happened. Then do the same thing again. Unplug the keyboard, open 1.09v, press D+L keys and then plug in again. Install the firmware. Then it seemed to work for me! Good luck guys

My One 2 Mini wasn’t turning on nor being detected by windows, so what I did was I plugged it into my laptop (I don’t think it has to be a laptop) and I downloaded the second newest firmware. I then unplugged the keyboard. Then I held down the two windows keys while plugging it back in. For some reason this fixed it. It would not reset while plugged in but it did when I plugged it in while holding down the two windows keys.

Just had the same issue, fixed it by holding both windows keys until the keyboard started fashing and then flipping the way the micro usb was plugged in(unplugged it and switched it around)

my ducky doesn't work. there will be no lights or anything else. windos does not recognize it. apple tried everything. but no. what should be done?

Easy fix: You literally just download the old firmware I can’t believe I just spent 3 hours trying to fix this and it was that easy. The old firmware is on the same webpage as the new one.

you might have downloaded an incompatible firmware update. this is known to brick ducky keyboards.

on everybody who has the problem please download the oldest uptade version an they website and when you have done it with press d+l press start an when its on 100% then take youre cable what connects to the keyboard out and stick it again in the keyboard and then youre keyboard must work again

Just bought the exact same keyboard and just had the exact same issue. So 4 months later I guess it’s not fixed. Sending it back now... Totally ridiculous. Never buying a Ducky product ever again.

I just bought ducky one 2 mini and it worked fine for 3 hours so stop the keyboard so I will try the trick tomorrow I need that code on the box for have thrown the box

I bought the Ducky One SF yesterday afternon and today's morning stopped working when i was configuring some macro keys.

So when you download it will tell you the product number and check in the back it will say P/n and you download that one and mine was working fine and it bricked so i kept installing it until it lit back up
Hello, let me explain my situation. Before the problem, I accidentally spilled some drink on my keyboard: the ducky one mini 2. I was able to clean above and a little inside, the drink was not on the side of the bar space. However 2h30-3h00 after the "accident". While I was playing my space key became unusable, I tried everything I know, put the driver back, clean the key, reset the keyboard etc. change usb etc. Nothing works, do you have a solution?
Can somebody help me. My keyboard goes into different functions automatically and I can't press anything. but itself lights up
when i got mine it was also semi-bricked, I could type but the rgb was basically broken, I had no control over the rgb. and when I saw ur video I ended up trying to hold both windows buttons and after 5 seconds it worked. maybe you didn't hold it for long enough?

I actually made the same mistake of downloading the wrong version. First thing I did was go to ease of access to use the on screen keyboard. Then I uninstalled all of my keyboards from device manager . Then I downloaded the correct drivers and install was successful

My keyboard was not working, i updated the firmware and everything. then i plugged it into a power bank to show my dad how it does not work, but it worked when i plugged it in. hope this is helpful.
A way to fix it I had the same problem unplug the keyboard plug it back it than hold fn then click space bar

Happened to me returned it and they sent me a new one.
Same for me. I suspect that Ducky are receiving thousands of not tens of thousands of bricked keyboard. Since thousands of people install the v1.20 like me because of bad website UI. Now they have 10,000 keyboard to repair because of that
@@PogU_4Life actually no. I had the same problem. After i have plugged the keyboard into a different usb port, it worked just fine and than plugged it back into its original one and everything worked as intended

I had the same problem because i downloaded the wrong Firmware but then I tried to download the right one but it still didn't work. Then I deleted both of them from my Pc, downloaded the right one again and it worked. Maybe that helps

Same thing happened to me and they're making me pay them to send it to them to fix... What a joke dude.
You can just buy a new one then return the bricked one of they're asking you to pay. I talked with the support and told them hundreds of keyboards are being bricked because of average design of webpage and confusing firmware version (v1.07 is more recent than v1.20 that makes no sense)

I downloaded the wrong firmware too I just went to device manager and then click on the keyboard and and deleted the 4 files then go back and download the right firmware after that unplug your keyboard then plug it back in it should work

I am having the same exact problem. Just got my one 2 mini today and it lights up but I cannot get it to type. I downloaded firmware v1.07 and tried everything that I could find on the internet. Still unable to type :/ Were you able to find a solution?

@@PogU_4Life Hi! I just fixed my keyboard. I am able to type on it with no issues now. I went to Ducky's discord and followed their firmware guide. it is more specific than what you see on youtube. I suggest you check it out if you haven't already!
