    Recently found your channel and im floored by how detailed and helpful your videos have been, ESPECIALLY the roof raise ones I'm buying a bus in dallas and bringing it to the same place that spray foamed yours after the roof raise. Thank you so much.

      Lol I'm glad that you found our vids helpful but you must be thinking of another channel because we never did a roof raise lol.

    Another excellent video @MEREDITH and PACO! Really like the idea of having a cleanout nozzle attachment! That'll make rinsing out the tank easier. However, your dump valve is a great size for quickly dumping the gray water so you can get back on the road sooner! It's cool how much you two have learned as you're plumbing your systems! So much thought has gone into the set up so that all the drains drain and the water gets to where it needs to go (Like that big azz shower stall! BOOM!) We're super happy for y'all! Keep up the great work because we have a feeling that the payoff is going to be MASSIVE! Imagine the wonderful places you'll be able to go with your tiny home on wheels! Big Love to y'all! - Brian + Erin

    Awesome guys !!! How many gallons recommended? To grey waters tank and black. Tanks

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I think it all depends on your preference. We decided to not go with a black water tank at all so we only have our 100 gallon fresh and grey water tank.

    Im not familiar with RV plumbing at all, and only mildly familiar with regular plumbing, but are you planning to put P-traps on every drain line (sing, shower, toilet) so you dont smell the grey water tank on your bus?
    Awesome build though! My wife and I are currently working on our weekend warrior Shorty and your videos are a great help.

      Hey! Yes in the video before this one we go over that we will be using a hepvo valve on each one of our drains. Thank you so much!

    Awesome, but you know I have to ask how many degrees will the tank be slanted towards the drain?.

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure how many degrees but we will be tilting it, thank you!

    I really do find your videos helpful but i have one question as in regulates to bus safety as well as yours. How are you compensating for the weight distribution? You have the main water tank, grey water tank, shower and toilet and what not all on the driver side of your bus. What are you adding to the passenger side to help off set all that weight. Water alone is 8.37 lbs per gallon that can add up very very fast.

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is great question, we had not considered that in our original floor plan and along the way we realized that. We talk to a few people who have similar plans and they said that it had not been an issue for them yet but to just be careful. We have out storage units and will have out wood burning stove on the other side but will empty the tanks as often as we can and be very careful. Thank you !

    okay so i just cut a hole, about to put a gasket in and realized idk if you guys or anybody else on here puts any joint compound or silicone on the inside of the gasket where the pvc pipe goes in... did you guys just put the pvc into the gasket to sealant and shes good?

    • @nicolestanley3360
      @nicolestanley3360 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no* sealant?

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! There is silicone with them as well to make sure to have them all sealed!

    Hey, Meredith and Paco!!! I have a few noob-ish questions for ya! One is about this set up. Why does everyone seem to install their drain for the grey water tanks on an end of their tank and not the bottom? Is it a clearance thing?
    My second question - Do you have an Amazon link to the rivet gun and rivets that you use? I looked at your Amazon storefront and didn't see that available, but am in need of one. Thanks in advance!!

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So that is a great question. For us it was indeed a clearance thing. The least amount of things that we can have dangling down the better. I'm not sure why others do it that way.
      As far as the rivers and gun goes, we don't have it on there but we will added it 😁

    Should only connect PVC and ABS with a mechanical coupler. If you don’t then make sure you use Oatey Green.

    You might have to put a guard between your wheel in the tank

    Doesnt' it become a black water tank when you have a toilet going to it? And that requires more strict dumping.

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe only if it has number 2 in it but we will makes sure to do our research thank you!

    • @thomasvale3144
      @thomasvale3144 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's only black if you have a #2. I think y=they are going with a composite toilet.

  • @garymathews4042
    @garymathews4042 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    great videos ,but you should have a separate tank for the toilet ,called a black water tank .water from the sink and shower can be drained most any where ,but toilet water is another story .

    • @GustheStruggleBus
      @GustheStruggleBus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people do it that way! What ever works for your situation

    • @khalification87
      @khalification87 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s actually literally a legality issue. Legally you need to separate your gray and blackwater tanks.

  • @watahyahknow
    @watahyahknow 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    once youre on the road and loading that tank keep an eye on those pieces of angle , i still think they will fail , but if you dont replace them at least catch the problem before it becomes a big problem

    Don’t use the plumbers tape on the pvc pipe

  • @khalification87
    @khalification87 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pvc primer goes on one pipe, pvc cement goes on the other. This way there is no cross contamination on the applicators. Hopefully nobody actually follows these videos as a tutorial.
