    Unistrut! That's the answer I've been looking for! This is the 5th video I've watched about hanging tanks and the first one that didn't have me questioning their attachment methods.

    Great video. I'm an industrial fitter and worked on water management plants. Spring washers were the best solution for machinery and pumps where vibration was an issue. I used copper grease for assembly of parts so the spring washers were all I had to stop bolts and fixtures from coming loose.

    So you drilled a hole and stuck your big drain pipe through it, and it was all good!! I don't know why you wouldn't want that on the Tube. You did great work on this one Justin. Plumbing sucks and so much can get jacked up in the process, but you did it and it all worked. Maybe some better lube would've helped you out, but you got it done. You put a lot of work into this build for your friends, and it looks like you did some pretty good work. Maybe not all perfect, or how you would've liked, but you got it done. I say that's a total win.

    Sounds like burnout man. We all have our limits, plumbing also gave me the same weird feeling. I think it's just because this stuff tends to get done later in the build and the fear of having to rewind an already long build is always worrisome.

      Yeah I do like plumbing but the consequences are also a little worrisome if anything goes wrong. Totally get what you mean!!!

    Hey, Red thread locker would work better for those threaded rods and bolts. That silicone would likely interfere with it working properly. So cleaning off the silicone would be a good idea. Maybe even replacing the rods and bolts with new. Just to make sure it's good. Your silicone idea might work but, I'd rather see something that is made to keep bolts from falling off. 😃
    I really like your videos. Thanks for sharing.

      Yep silicone doesn’t actually stick to anything. Just pulls right off in chunks.

    dish soap such as dawn make a good lube for rubber fittings and hoses

    In low clearance areas, you can ensure your nuts do not vibrate loose by 1) using double nuts 2) drilling and tapping in a grub screw 3) drill through and use wire or a cotter pin 4) or in a pinch put a dab of JBWeld or thread sealer on the threads directly above the nut (it'll take a lot to back up the threads).

    • @MobileDwellings
      @MobileDwellings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for all of those ideas. thread sealer certainly would have been better than my last minute silicone job. I didn't realize doubling up the nuts would work.

    • @r8edrv4fun65
      @r8edrv4fun65 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the thread sealer or jb weld idea. Drilling holes for wire or pin sounds tedious but easier to work with later. Thank you!!

    • @LogicalNiko
      @LogicalNiko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MobileDwellings normal nuts height extend beyond the threads a small amount. Thus when two nuts attempt to butt up against eachother they will bind with a considerable amount of force. The they cannot move again until you create a gap in between them.
      It’s handy if you think you may need to make adjustments or remove them in the future. Locktite thread sealer or JB weld take heat or a grinder to break loose.

    • @LogicalNiko
      @LogicalNiko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@r8edrv4fun65 to be honest the the only areas where drilling and wiring is really done is in aircraft/aerospace. Places where if a nut comes loose and falls free it will destroy the entire engine and probably cause serious risk of death.

    Also PVC primer BURNS if it touches your hands. I spilled a whole tiny can like that covering my hand and man.. that was a rough 20 minutes scrubbing that off.

    Nice video! Thanks for taking the time to film and share. I’m curious though, how did the pee pipe, without a p-trap work for you after some use?

    • @MobileDwellings
      @MobileDwellings  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This particular unit did not work long term for Sam and Katy. They swapped it out for a HEPVO valve. A P trap would not work because it would be full of urine unless you followed urine with water/vinegar every time. Even then the gases can escape through a P trap when the bus drives around but only in extreme conditions (bumpy off road driving)

    What did you use to hold the uni strut up to the bus? Self tapping screws?

    • @MobileDwellings
      @MobileDwellings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bolts, nuts, and washers when there was an L shaped framing member. Each unistrut got 2 sets of bolts, nuts, and washers I believe. The rest of the framing members were U shaped and I couldn't reach behind them so they got big self-tapping screws.

    Give yourself permission to be human! Everyone gets worn to a frazzle when you are responsible for everything. Take a couple of days off and rest. Go on a picnic with the family. Take a nap outside and relax. Then take a look at how much you have finished and congratulate yourself. You are doing fine!
