    Thanks for the idea to use an elbow fitting and garden hose to empty grey water more often. We plan to use it with our 820.

      I wouldn't try to dump 100 gallons through it, but its been a neat gadget for our lifestyle.

    Here's an idea. Grey water? Set it up to dump while you're driving down the road. Obviously no one right behind you, but really, it's basically clean dump water. Just hook up a switch to dump while driving. Easy peasy.

      While that would be possible, I don't think that would be very legal or ethical. It's a rather touchy topic and we try to be good campers. But, I know what you're talking about 😉

      true. If you crack it slightly so it just drips out, in a few hours of driving, done. It's soapy water for goodness sake. People in the country have wash water dumped to Nature instead of into their septics. VERY common practice and no one has dropped dead.

    This was great info I did not know about Campadiam. I will be at the Canadian border this morning hope that they will let me in I have all my papers in order. If they don't it's back to Florida for me.

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Campendium has been pretty useful. I just used it today in fact! I'm really curious to hear about your Canada experiance, I read that you have to prove that you will be staying at hotels, with confirmations. That wouldn't really allow us to boondock along the way. Did you need to make hotel reservations to get across the border?

      @@Stonyboot Not anymore. Check the Can. boarder agency website for requirements. But be warned, it's likely it's going to close again due to the US rates sky-rocketing, rates in Canada increasing, and a big percentage of Canadians being against opening the boarders up with US rates jumping up so much. Saw a number of americans getting turned away b/c they couldn't follow the instructions for requirements.

      Good to know. I think it’s a little too late for us this year, but we are hoping to get to Alaska next year. Everything changes so fast that I have no doubt that it will close again soon.

    I've had one of those valtera caps on our drain for a while, they're pretty handy. I've used it to drain gray water (and gray water only) through a hose when boonedocking and where it's legal to do so or to drain it into the yard at home when needed (away from the storm drains).

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We’ve been told by some farmers and others to just dump on their ground, which is great. But we’d never dump like that at a campground, NP or something like that. Too many people doing it and it eventually becomes a problem.

    • @stephenbrothers9185
      @stephenbrothers9185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, we've never done it in a park or around other campers. Just nice to have the option at times when environment permits. If everyone did it in crowded areas I could see it getting to be a problem

      It's been working pretty well, its a little slow if we have a full tank, but we usually dump before that happens.

    Great video!! Quick question, why isn’t Sasha as active in the videos? Love to see you both in the videos but you’ve seem to be more active than her. Not sure if you’ve covered this in other comments.

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a great question. It mostly has to do with the topic and how much time we have. For both of us to be in the video, we have to plan out a script, decide who is delivering which information and then record takes until we get something usable. It’s very time consuming and adds a lot of work. Sasha mostly handles our Instagram and I primarily do TH-cam. So when time is tight, like it has been for the last several weeks, I’ll do videos alone so that she has time to focus on her work and I can be a little less scripted with my work. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes, even for small channels like us. It’s very cool that you asked! Thanks 😊

      So many different phrases to chose from, but honey wagon stuck, it’s also a common phrase in the septic pumping world.

    Is this legal? I thought all sewer connections must be capped when driving? I mean, what if your valve leaks, you'll be dripping on the road.

      It was just a spare piece of hose. I’m not going to get them confused.
