    Without doubt the method feeder is one of the most successful ways of targeting fish on commercial fisheries. In this video AD Team Member Stephen Crowe shows us exactly how to use the method and to get the best out of it!

    I use the hybrid feeder pellets in first then the feeder and hook bait I use 10 or 12 hook size and a size 10ft quiver tip perfect stay safe tight lines.

    Anyone know what lake this is? Would be handy to get a reply from Steve but for some reason he never seems to answer me when I ask a question 🤷🏻‍♂️
    I asked a couple of months back if you coach in the Norwich area? A simple yes or no. If not can you advise on anyone as I’d like to tweak my match fishing approach.
    Cheers

    Thanks for the video, what is the recommended hook size/type for the method feeder when you target carp? I lose so many carps especially when they bigger fish get hooked.

      If you are fishing for commercial carp size 12/14 should be fine. When targeting larger specimen carp, I would opt for size 8/10. I hope this helps. Regards, Steve.

    When you clip up do you leave it in the clip? as the fish are not huge specimen carp that will usually take line.

    • @WolfmanWoody
      @WolfmanWoody 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I can answer for now - It is left in the clip all the time you fish to one mark. You notice when he casts, he lifts the rod up again vertical if not slightly behind him until the feeder lands on the water. So the length he sets the line to clip up includes a little extra to allow for the rod coming back up. This achieves two things. -
      1) When the line hits the clip on the cast, the soft rod tip is taking the energy out of feeder's weight. If you cast and point the rod at the feeder all the time, you're likely to snap the line at the reel's clip. You're using the rod tip as a kind of spring.
      2) After the cast, you lower the rod into the rest and take up the slack line. You might get 3- 5 turns of the handle on your reel, meaning you get 15-25 turns of line on the spool when you work out the rotation ratio of the reel, i.e. 4.8 or 5.2 to 1. This will give you a buffer in case the fish does take line after it takes the bait.
      Hope this helps.

      @@AnglingDirectTV you cast out and bring the rod backward if it hit the clip move the rod forward the compensate for the hit and also your method will not bounce back a few feet resulting in you are not fishing on the marked spot

      I was thinking the same thing otherwise you would have to wrap after every cast.

    What is a recommended fishing reel for method feeding

  • @krisztiankovacs6377

    Will this work with 35cm deep silt in river, stronger current?

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Krisztian,
      The method feeder is not really suited for fishing in deep silt or fast flowing rivers. Depending what size/type of fish you're targeting a simple running rig with a longer hooklink would be better.

      Hi Shaun, that's a good question. When I'm method feeder fishing I would normally use a 2oz - 3oz quiver tip. Regards Steve.
