England came from behind in their opening Euro 2004 qualifier against Slovakia in 2002 at Tehelné pole (Bratislava) thanks to goals from David Beckham and Michael Owen who made the game 2-1 after Middlesbrough's Szilard Nemeth gave Slovakia a first-half lead.

The best thing about this game was at 1 - 0 up, the Slovakians started a "Mexican Wave" and every time it reached the England fans we'd just boo/flick the Vs to their hostile boos. When we scored we all started doing ridiculous individual waves. It was very amusing.

I was at that game. It was nearly called off due to rain and pitch. The away end was packed and police beat the fans with battons as per usual for eastern Europe. Got stopped at border and hauled off bus by police before hand too.
