Right on Russ, you're welcome! I just read an article from 1982 comparing the GS750E and V45 Sabre. The GS750E was a tick quicker in testing but the V45 had a little more low-end grunt. The GS750E won that particular test for it's better overall combo of ride, handling, comfort and performance. I also owned the V45 Sabre back in the day. I like the simplicity of the Suzuki but that V45 was a great bike too!
cool.this years riding days are about over.i guess im getting old, but just what we saw on camera at 50° wouldve been enough to form ice crystals in my blood.more power to you bud.if you work all winter, you should have alot of videos coming in the spring.& we will be ready for them.
@@jaytodd5809 A previous owner had turned the timing plate way over to one side. Once I put it to the correct mark, the bike ran fine. It seems so obvious now!
Thanks Henry. That VFR is such a nice machine! I had a red 1996 with a D&D exhaust back in the day. It sounded amazing. The next generation 800cc bikes weren't nearly as good looking. I always wanted Honda to produce a 1000cc version but I'm still waiting on that one. I would like to try the 1200 if given the chance.
@@henryhawk978 I'm sure it sounds awesome! I rode mine really aggressively just because it sounded so good when it revved out. It was also very stable handling from what I remember.
@@henryhawk978 I've only ridden the V7 stone, V7 cafe racer and V9 bobber at this point but have always thought the "Dr. John" 1000cc 8-valve bike was beautiful.
Great question Mervin! I bought parts from Suzuki, Rick's Electrics, eBay, etc. It just depends on what's available and where you can get the part you need.
I know they are a pain but more tech videos would be sweet! I have cameras and bikes too....its just too much work to set all that up. I just wanna get er dun so I empathize.
Yeah, I had filmed the GS750E carb removal/installation and included it in a previous video in the series, so I didn't include it here. Also, my tech videos take the longest time to film and edit and they get the fewest views. It's definitely a challenge to film the restoration process on a bike and make it watchable. The test rides are a key part of the process - where the rubber hits the road and you find out if the changes made solved the problem you had. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 The test rides are wonderful. As a wrencher, and one that has 2 of these beasts it the garage I am more interested in the tech stuff so its 100% selfish. You're past the 1k sub mark...your channel is gonna take off soon! Nice work and just keep doing what you are doing. Thank you for sharing your bikes with us.
This was my first road bike! It was just a touch slower than my 45 magna! I should have kept that bike. Fun video! Thanks Jon👍👍

The cold is a bummer. I film as I can, weather permitting. But man it's hard to get motivated in the winter!
Seemed super smooth now 👍
The problem returned later but I eventually figured it out and felt really silly when I did. I'll cover it in a future video. 😉

Enjoyed the video, very nice 🏍. Going to pick up a 96 red 1 owner VFR 750 16500miles gear driven cams. RIDE SAFE!
