It's lake Wakatipu. Also, there was no gold mining at bobs cove, it's all limestone, that's what the kilns were for, making like a mortar for building and construction due to not having real cement. It's an awesome area, the bro took us through there a couple of months ago. You should hit up Arrowtown for gold mining. If you think that place looks awesome in midsummer, you should head back in midwinter. It's mind blowing. Follow that road right around to Glenorchy. Then get right down to Milford sound. Makes anywhere else seem boring 😂😂
Yes I've been there in winter many years back for the winter festival, Yes apparently the early settlers did Gold Mining in this area as well as limestone bricks, they have named it the same as they do down here by naming the mining location the exact miles from town, hence the name 12 Mile Delta, thanks again for watching and commenting 😎👍
Gidday mate..that was wicked as, It's amazing thinking if back in the days someone or people living in these old stone houses on the shores of that stunning lake, Just trying to find gold and get Rich or what not. That lake was begging to be swam in sitting here sweating watching thinking that lakes waaaay more impressive then my local I'm about to head off to. Happy trails mate
