You're honestly the only celebrity I know of that is as down-to-earth and relatable as you are. For what it's worth, I loved the trailer, but I enjoyed your trailer comments video far more because of the chill vibe and interesting facts. In the ocean of modern sensationalism, your TH-cam channel is a wonderful island of sensibility and honesty. Thanks for all your hard work!

As a fellow introvert, I felt EXHAUSTED just watching you go through all that. It's amazing how Zachary Levi was still bopping along while you looked like you would be fine just sitting in a lounge chair somewhere for a bit.

Levi's just built that way. That's why he's able to play characters that are usually energetic, but empathetic man children like he did in Chuck and now in Shazam and sustain that energy for 12 hour day shoots. He feeds off of the whole thing. The chaos energizes him whereas it drains someone like David. Interesting how people can be so different.
That said, I'm sure Levi has his moments of exhaustion. Everybody does at some point.

I've always found Americans way more naturally outgoing and energetic than what I'm used to across the pond, which is something I admire about them. What helped a lot for me at least was taking theater improv classes with actors-- once you start doing that and you perform for audiences, you get used to it in everyday situations as well. It also helps you write for actors as well.

Yes! I was introduced to improv theater by my high school drama teacher and I *absolutely* consider it a real life skill that helps me on a daily basis. When you're an introvert, every conversation can start to feel like a performance after a while, so knowing how to perform well is super useful.

Though you admittedly often look like the least hyper person on stage, the moment you open your mouth to speak the passion and pride in your work is beyond obvious. I love that you can make these videos and talk more about things that went wrong with the filmmaking process and how you overcame them cause your pride in the problem solving shows even more that you think you made a good product than if you tried to say it was perfect from the very beginning.
Also thank you so much for being so open about your experience and really living as an example of how you can be nervous, anxious, exhausted and overwhelmed as a professional artist but you can't let it stop you from being excited to go do something new and incredible. I think a lot of us need to see someone like you making it while being honest about what you still deal with as an introvert so we know it's possible for us too, it's okay to feel that way but it doesn't make all our fears and anxieties so true that we should never try.

This video was extremely relatable...aside from the being a filmmaker at ComiCon part. I often wonder how fine the line is between being an introvert and having anxiety/depression. During the pandemic, I was diagnosed with social anxiety, which in retrospect, explained SO much about the everything about me while growing up. However, I don't think I'm naturally an introvert. It fully depends on where I am and who I'm with. In the right setting with the right people I can be VERY outgoing...I imagine I could comfortably ride Zachary Levi's confidence and energy into the sunset.
Anyway, it's bee a lot of fun watching go on this journey the last few years. Stay strong. Have fun. Make more movies, please.

Dude, same here! When we released our first feature and had to do the press and all that, it totally sucked ass. As a DP who's even less outgoing than, say, a director, I was like come on, it's 2022, can we come up with something less of a drag? Can we just, idk, hang out with the press, have a few drinks and then do the same with the fans? Being so far away from the actual consumer is not the way we supposed to treat people, I thought. Still, thanks for the insides, love the energy (or the lack of it), very sincere stuff!

I did Comicons in the 1970s, at the El Cortez when you could sit next to your favorite artist or writer for an hour if you were a cool kid. It was a raw, naive experience for fans, without a whiff of corporate involvement, and it was the authentic experience every fan is hoping for today but will never have. I saw Star Wars at one of these before the film came out. Incredible time. David would have felt very welcome among us nerds and outcasts. Man, I feel old.

Hi David. I'm Francis Gacer a Filipino filmmaker based in Dubai. I would like to let you know that you have been my ultimate Non-Asian indie film director that I looked up to. Seeing how you have started making horror shortfilms with your lovely wife and ventured fully in the mainstream to the extent that DC asked you to direct Shazam....YOU REALLY MY INSPIRATION! Salute to you!

I want to say thank you David for sharing your thoughts and experiences on all this. You being able to be 100% honest about all this is really refreshing. We hear often of how great and awesome these interviews and tours are, but you sharing the actual process is a reason me and everyone else loves you. You are honest with us. You aren't afraid to tell how you feel, about how scared and exhausted you can be from all this but still being optimistic about what you worked too hard for to achieve.
I want to say thank you David, you're a big hero to me as you are always truthful to us and helping people navigate the crazy world of filmmaking.
    Thank you

The lead up to the panel put my own nerves on edge - As always an interesting perspective and cool inside look into the bts of filmmaking promotion. It would be awesome to see something similar when you do the press tour of Fury of the Gods. Thanks again for the great video!

Why this video hasn't blown up yet....this is the greatest comic-con video ever.... A great insight into the point of view a director visiting comic-con or as for any celebrity for the matter of fact. 😍🙏🏻😍🙏🏻😍

As silly as it sounds, you are the reason I'm keep dreaming about becoming a movie director. I was in a really bad mental place and were your videos (and your words) to give me strenght.
You are not just a really good director, you are a kind soul.

Can we just appreciate how awesome and down to earth David is? A big Hollywood director giving every single insight into what goes into film making, that's not something very common. I am an aspiring film maker (also an ambivert), and it's gives me so much to learn about from David's videos. Thanks for sharing these , David. And the trailer looks amazing!!

Being an introvert myself, I do have to learn to open to people when necessary... but also more important, to be comfortable with myself in crowded environment. It's okay for people to notice that we're different and we don't have to be nervous about it. People will adjust eventually.

David you are awesome both for how you grew your carrer but also for staying on TH-cam and doing all those commentaries on different aspects of filmmaking. I don't know if someone did it before you, there will probably more such filmmakers in the future but you sir... You're going down in history books as a explorer of the new land. Thank you for being you.
