So he had the job until they saw him in person , then made up something that makes no sense about how he will get to work . The whole thing sounds fishy .
I had a former employer (lawyer) who told me I needed to buy myself a car, because riding the bus was NOT going to be acceptable when he moved into a different law office/building in South Tulsa. When I had previously asked for a $100 raise, (I was making $900/month BEFORE taxes), he turned me down. That $100 would have been the difference for a car payment on an old used CLUNKER. No raise? No car! Pretty soon, I updated my resume & went to work for a different law office. Then I got out of Tulsa Law completely! (1993). YES, they do like to dictate how you get to work.

Dedication and work ethic demand that you show up on Monday when you are scheduled to work. The rerporting clearly explains why he was fired, he didn't show up for work until Tuesday.
@@JeffKubelthey knew he was taking a course to get the certification that was required for the job. They knew he was not able to provide proof that he'd already taken the course. They brought him on despite that in the first place. So for them to make an issue of him not showing up on Monday is ridiculous. The whole report talks about the problem they had was with how he got to work. You have reliable transportation so you can get back and forth to work everyday yet they had a problem with him using Uber or his own bike to get to work. Put yourself in his shoes.
They have hurt this man's spirit. Makes me sick to my stomach. I pray for him and his family. A man looking for work and instead has to accept charity.

That agency was jerking him around hoping he would get frustrated and give up. Third party hiring agencies should be outlawed. They largely exist to get around labor laws.
Facts, kinda went through the same but it was with FedEx. But I didn't worry, didn't have to move but ended up getting a free dot medical card 😂. But yes these staffing or third party agencies aren't even worth the time or money
Third party hiring agencies get paid by companies to do the vetting for them. In 2007, one place I worked only for a very short time was being charged 2.5 times my hourly wage as their fee. When informing the agency's rep by phone why I wouldn't take the job permanently, she became audibly pissy with me.
Talk about having the best employee ever. He went far out of his way to secure a job and TESLA doesn't realize what they lost. I hope he will get something far better since they do not deserve his work ethic.
You can’t rely on any company to not fail you the fact they don’t do their own hiring tells you everything. These agencies only take from the employees they hire ~ the fact that this ignorant agency didn’t ask the man it required a vehicle tells you everything. Let’s put you in a plane ✈️ across the country and ride a bike to work? Like why not say you need a vehicle 🚗 worse they want you to drive their ugly cars where are you going to charge it in the middle of nowhere? Work agencies for you, they take your wages and put you in difficult situations ( Tesla and it’s foreign ideas) not so great now are they? That place is in the middle of nowhere.
Bless your heart ♥️ 😔 these employers don’t care never will if we can only work for ourselves and help one another not be ran by big corporations like Tesla etc

whats really going on is i just figured it out.. the hiring agency uses numbers nmever ever go though one go to the company and fill a paper application out if they say its all digital run a paper old school app why well agencies care about numbres see we have several that went to school we have this many people applying to get moneyyyyy off companies companies pay hiring agencies to find people and if they find that person toooooo fast they loose money see companies pay them monthly a fee etc well he didnt work out welll were still looking nevvvvvvvvvver use these companies

Add Job recruiters to this bunch. Unless you are a top 5 percent of employees - you know a programmer who has 6 plus years, already worked for Apple and Amazon etc etc, these recruiters can’t waist their time shopping you around. So that’s a dead end. And honestly if you are one of the 6 percent of employees - you don’t need a recruiter! You got the credentials, certificates and experience.
Had to watch this video a second time....all while capturing this man's humble expression of disbelief, and disappointment. Trust me.....greener pastures...much greener pastures are in his future!
This reminds me of what trucking companies were doing back during the recession of 08. Companies were " hiring " drivers they didn't really have work for because the government was giving money to employers if they hired and kept them for at least 30 days. This, in turn, made the job numbers look better than they actually were. Many companies would bring in large orientation classes and then send them home to sit and wait, after weeks they would bring in driver's and put them into a truck just to sit in a yard with no loads to haul. Some companies even scammed people into leasing trucks just for them to be stuck in a contract and on the hook for fuel and other expenses while they just sat parked for weeks at a time with no work. As long as they could string a driver along for the minimum required time " hired " they would get that government hand out.
wow, what a load of crap. poor guy and his family. why would employer care about how he got to work, as long as he got to work. give a job, so he can eventually get a car and take care of his family, keep trying, you will find a good job. you showed folks how far your willing to go and try. hope someone who needs this guys skills, comes forward with a job.
The worst part is the people working hardest are getting the least remuneration for their efforts and then shamed in the media for not taking more hours, more work despite the poverty wages. 40% of people in work need state support. That’s a reflection of greed not poor work ethics by working people. This is being done by design, by greed.

I just keep praying for something to come through with any of my searches across the US.
Tesla's just like any other company if they're losing money they're going to lay off employees and just because musk is a millionaire has nothing to do with it it's all business
This happened to a couple of my friends with Chase Bank, Chase gave them a relocation package and they move and less than two years they were laid off. Luckily they were qualified to get another job with Chase but still they were worried because they were competing against 200 other employees that were laid off for a couple of jobs in the area

Makes it sound like he still has a job to come to start.
If I'm understanding this correctly, he needed the class to start on Monday, why did he think doing the class all day Monday and starting Tuesday was acceptable?
Y’all don’t listen, he took the class before and couldn’t send the results. So he took the class again on Monday then sent in the results to start work. The better question is why did Tesla decide to go third party instead of direct hire?
@@BaebaeW10 hour class wouldn't leave much time to be looking for transportation which he also did on Monday. So I think the course was divided in stages and Monday was the final online class and/or test. Sounded like he started the course back in NC so I say online.

Taking a bike to work for that distance would be a major red flag to me. My employee is using a ton of their energy to get to work and back. Energy they may need while working. I'd make a deal, if you bike then I expect you to put the same effort and energy as every other worker, if you're tired or exhausted that's on you and your fired.
This is not why nobody wants to work. There are lots of people who do want to work, but aren't fit to be employees. This is the first time I have ever heard of this happening and I'm over 56. When someone does not want to work, there is usually laziness or an attitude of entitlement involved. Please don't take one news story and paint the entire civilization with it.
@ oh really? If the people want to work and they are unfit, the company can at least refer them to a place that might be more suitable . Now they don’t have to do that. But a lot of these companies would rather just show you the door and tell you “tough luck”. This is why folks don’t want to work anymore
@miguelrobb5719 I've never encountered that, and I don't know anyone personally who has. I know lots of people who work. I know a few who don't want to work. They are just lazy or unmotivated. @ OK, this was back in like 2010. I quit my job to go start with this other company and by the time I got there, they had a hiring freeze and wouldn't hire me. I saw legal action once I got back to my home state they informed me I would have to file the suit in the state that it happened and I wasn't willing to go through all that work. I had to focus on getting a job. so this guy would have to file a lawsuit in Nevada while living on the East Coast I'm sure he's not gonna go to the trouble
Very unprofessional on the part of the companies involved. It seems to be a very disgusting trend. I know intimately eight years ago,, I was hired for an administrative position - they knew I was moving from another county - when I arrived, they said - we decided not to fill the position AFTER THEY HAD ALREADY HIRED ME, KNOWING I WAS MOVING. Despicable people, despicable actions. And it is a very despicable city. I hope this father finds a decent company that will appreciate him. I hope Elon Musk hears about this - he needs to answer WHY DOES YOUR COMPANY DISRESPECT PEOPLE LIKE THIS??? It is a direct reflection on his management.

@BizSolutionsInternational He's from a whole different area of US which probably made Tesla queation. Why would this man come all the way from NC to Reno,NV specifically. His first misjudged goal is going thru an agency. How would they not know it requires a vehicle? Knowing musk’s stupid ideas he probably wants to force people to buy his crappy vehicles. He just can’t let go of third world countries ways. I’m not sure who’s more deranged the dumb agency asking for all kinds of certificates? Then asking someone to go clear cross country with no guarantee? Or musk’s requirements to work there? I can almost assure that he requires people buy or drive his garbage of a car? As if they aren’t asking for people to move there? Obviously theirs nobody really available. Dumb work agencies and never move for a dumb “ job” ~ yes people you need a home you need a car to drive to work ( you saw this during the pandemic people moving with all their belongings only to be told the job was on freeze)
I watched at least 20+ guys get fired from out of state, within 3 months. The main manager had zero problems with their behavior. Didn't intervene but encouraged it. You would think that a migrant from Poland would be more empathetic towards people wanting a job
So now corporations can tell us how we are to be transported to work?? Then they should have to provide the transportation. I'm sick of these trash companies.
This is what happens when you want to hire a friend when you already hired someone else. What if he walked to work because he lives in the area is that allowed. What if he is sharing a car with his wife and she drops him off in the morning is that allowed. Why have someone pay to take a test and then say your service is nolonger needed. Someone needs to look further into this. Or give the man 60 days to find reliable transportation. He couldn't even get his first check to work on this. Something just don't add up.
@@braddl9442the report DOES say SST hired him. Wasn't emphasized but was likely significant. Staffing agents are used when people are needed right away. Seems kinda weird to move cross country for a temporary job. Especially as an electrician. Trades jobs are in high demand everywhere. Why move?

Elon treats employees like crap, and that attitude filters down to management. I saw another video where his employees found out they had been laid-off when they drove to work and their card keys had been shut-off. He didn’t even have the decency to notify them. Just because Musk has good ideas, is smart, and wealthy, doesn’t make him a good person.
@@braddl9442 : I worked for quite a few temp agencies when I was in college. I was an accounting major, and over the holidays the temp agencies would send me out to work a few weeks for major corporations, such as Clorox and Chase Bank, mostly doing year-end reconciliations. The temp agencies work closely with the HR departments of the companies who contract with them. They know what kind of employees the companies want, in terms of everything from professional appearance to skill sets. If the temp agency sends undesirable employees, the corporation drops them and goes with a different temp agency. The corp also provides feedback to the temp agency, which the agency often passes along to the employee so that he has the opportunity to improve his skills, such as the need to improve 10-key speed, working with Excel spreadsheets, etc. Bottom line, the temp agency knows what the employer wants and that’s what is provided. If you have a grown man show up with goofy looking hair and sagging pants like a teenager, for example, the temp agency will realize that he doesn’t present the professional image that the particular corp requires, and will drop him. Some companies care about appearance, others don’t, but the temp agency will know this.

It’s horrible, but I have heard cases like this before. People get hired for a job out of state only for something to fall through (because of the company) when the person arrives. I hope this guy is able to find an even better job.
Tesla is not the place, my son was an engineer there when they first opened. His car broke down and he has to take an Uber about 40 mins, Tesla would NOT allow the Uber on the property at all.
It seems to me that this is a case of he "showed up black". They quickly used his mode of transportation as an excuse to keep him from coming to work and working any hours, that bought them time to let the higher ups know that he was black, and then they used the fact that he hasn't started by Monday as a reason to cut him loose. If this man had the means to rent a car they would be screwed, and a lawsuit would have been filed because he actually worked some hours. It is a shame that they used his poverty to give him the run around. Telsa has had many civil rights lawsuits for its treatment of black workers. Maybe that is why Elon wants more H1B visas.
Yes, the way you treat people who don't show up for work on their first day is to not give them a job. 1:08, listen carefully, it says he was supposed to show up on Monday but didn't show up until Tuesday. Guaranteed way of not getting a job is to not show up on day 1.

The agency is still responsible.
Third party hiring agencies get paid by companies to do the vetting for them. In 2007, one place I worked only for a very short time was being charged 2.5 times my hourly wage as their fee. When informing the agency's rep by phone why I wouldn't take the job permanently, she became audibly pissy with me.

Hired means paid. Scam should have been easily shut down if they weren't paying reliable wages all that time.

I hope there is an investigation into their hiring practices with the state labor board, but hell will likely freeze over before it happens.
I watched at least 20+ guys get fired from out of state, within 3 months. The main manager had zero problems with their behavior. Didn't intervene but encouraged it. You would think that a migrant from Poland would be more empathetic towards people wanting a job
Give this man a job, Elon!
Not the way to treat people.
Tesla literally has shuttles for their employees to get to work.
I bet they do have shuttles. But I myself would also NOT be made aware of the "perk" EITHER.
All the big companies on USA Parkway outside of Reno do. Tesla, Panasonic, Chewy, etc.
They're not for contractors. Contractors are treated like subhumans.
😮😮😮😮😮😮
🤖
Yeah if SST and Tesla paid his flight back home they know they fooked up lol
So now corporations can tell us how we are to be transported to work?? Then they should have to provide the transportation. I'm sick of these trash companies.
Make sure this man have a great Christmas for his children Make a go fund me for him
Make a go fund me for someone who no call no shows on his first day of work? lol!
It sounds like his wife isn't one I'd want to go back to.
He was working for a TEMP company not TESLA. He and the reporter are lying about the situation. HE was a TEMP. Not a TESLA worker.
@@braddl9442the report DOES say SST hired him. Wasn't emphasized but was likely significant. Staffing agents are used when people are needed right away. Seems kinda weird to move cross country for a temporary job. Especially as an electrician. Trades jobs are in high demand everywhere. Why move?
Sounds like a scam
I got called by this company about a month ago .. they made it seem fucking good .. I'm glad I didn't go to this tesla job site in reno spark nevada
The media needs to push for answers on this one! Under what basis would Tesla rescind job offer based on how someone gets to work?
This is crazy! That's why they don't get good workers, this man trying to do his best and that's not good enough. Then, they get workers that don't hardly work at all.
Why do they care how he gets to work?
Elon treats employees like crap, and that attitude filters down to management. I saw another video where his employees found out they had been laid-off when they drove to work and their card keys had been shut-off. He didn’t even have the decency to notify them. Just because Musk has good ideas, is smart, and wealthy, doesn’t make him a good person.
It is true..
he was not working for TESLA he was working for a temp agency. Noticed you didnt notice you were mislead.
He’s not smart he takes the ideas from other people and says it’s his idea
Most of "his ideas" were developed by others long before him.
why can't you Uber to Tesla?
Maybe for security ? There's a gate you have to get thru to enter the facility.
@ oh I didn’t know that 🤨
You can def take a Uber going in. I've done it before.
I drive more than 1 hour a way and paid $150 for 5 days courses, paid $70 for union.
I got nothing afterward, same as did usps.
And let me tell you flying from the East Coast to the West Coast or vice versa is an extreme travel, nightmare.😢 sorry thing’s didn’t work out for this young man .prayers to him and his family
I bet it was a problem with the third party hiring firm. My husband had a problem with one of those companies.
I had Kelley Services explicitly say that I would have heath insurance. After the first week I got a form email stating that I wasn't eligible for health insurance. These contract companies are evil.
The third party company got their $60.00 from him so he can take their test but I bet you they never secured a job for him with Tesla. Dam third party hiring agency should be sued.
You must have missed this part of the story: Orientation was Monday and he did NOT show up for it because he was completing the course he needed to have done before he could start... he should have asked for another start date when he knew he couldn't complete the class prior to his orientation date.. This guy is used to "participation trophies."
Elon Musk is one heck of a guy. And now he has the US government in his pocket.
Speaking of hip pockets one of these days Musk will stop sudden and Trump’s head would go right up Musk rear.Hate to imagine what Trump’s hair would look like when have to pry his head from Musk rear
Finding a job now is a joke I just been unemployed since June 7th and I was at a casino for 5 years I apply at fast food they literally tell me I'm overqualified or they're not hiring or they hire young kids which I respect we all started Young temp services tell me I don't have the qualifications especially with Warehouse I replied to the temp service you tell me all I have to do is take things out of a box a 5-year-old can do that for 8 hours and they reply well you don't meet our qualifications also I have broken teeth so that doesn't help and I'm single guy 44 years old so yeah if you guys have a job be thankful for what you have
It’s horrible, but I have heard cases like this before.
Tesla and Elon are starting to show a trend of how they think about and treat people..
Starting?
Yes, the way you treat people who don't show up for work on their first day is to not give them a job. 1:08, listen carefully, it says he was supposed to show up on Monday but didn't show up until Tuesday. Guaranteed way of not getting a job is to not show up on day 1.
@@JeffKubel Yes listen. He did not show up the first day as he was finishing the course he needed to for the job. Why did you leave that part out?
Tesla is wrong for that... this man went far to hope to be hired ... after they saw him in person, here all the excuses not to hire him. Shame Shame Tesla.
He was already hired allegedly.
The story doesn’t make any sense, what the hell does the mode of transportation you use have to do with anything as long as you get to the job!
I agree
Security. ESP at a gate. Next he was not hired by TESLA, he and the reporter are misrepresenting facts, he was working through a temp agency. This is a PURE scumbag hit piece.
Yeah it's none of their business😮😢
It makes perfect sense. 1:08 until 1:15 explains why. He was scheduled to start work Monday. He didn't show up until Tuesday. 😂
@@JeffKubel Hey genius, it doesn’t make any sense, what doesTesla have to do with his mode of transportation!
So he missed his orientation he was supposed to be there on Monday but showed up on Tuesday and he expects people to feel sorry for him when he should have had his paperwork done before he got to the job site and I missing anything. I damn well know I can't miss orientation on the first day. I'm sorry but he screwed that up for himself and his kids
A third party temp agency reached out to me for a position. I applied through the agency and was accepted. The day I was to start work at the corporation, I was informed I didn't have a job. The corporation representative told me the temp agency didn't have a valid contract with the corporation. The temp agency later admitted to me they didn't have a valid contract to source future employees with the corporation. Lost out on a good position but life blessed me with another one down the road.
Third party hiring agencies seems to be just as useful as healthcare insurance.
correct
I would expect nothing less heartless from Tesla. This is what Elon has in store for the rest of us. Tesla and Musk will not be getting support from me as much as I can help it. I will direct my good will to his competitors.
Remember all of the layoffs in Austin? Lots of employees had just bought homes snd then wham, kicked to the curb!😮
@@frankcorrea8691 Remember you can’t get to trump but Elon can only afford whatever security protection he hasn’t stiffed yet. He does not have secret service protection as a non us citizen
@@frankcorrea8691 show me a company that never laid anyone off? ill wait.
Glad he brought Attention to this matter. Bless this man and his kid. ❤🙏🏽
Does this man have a GoFundMe? I'd be happy to help him out
I did this... I fkew out from LA to san Francisco to meet the team i would support. The team an I were equslly excited about the prospect of working together. I was called by the hiring manager 3 weeks later to discuss the job. I flew out from mexico on black friday and net him in his office in irange county to ve informed i didnt get hired. I was floored.
When jobs are offered in this way be it through a staffing agency or by direct employer it violates employment laws and this guy could sue for at least the full year of salary, This is why SST declined to comment The guy should seek a lawyer and file a complaint with EEOC of his State of orgin
They wouldn't let you take an Uber? I called bs. How can they stop you from taking an Uber?
