@@MrHaaspaulThey aren't putting anything in the old dorms spot besides a new Marina building. That is much more needed there than yet another coaster. Great video ! I really hope Top thrill opens up it is just crazy how he almost have no idea what is going on with it. Whenever I go to cedar point once a week I go over to see if they changed anything for the ride. Top Thrill 2 was an amazing Ride I was able to go on it 4 times
Chuck here, 2025 is looking really good. Cedar points gonna be the place to be with Sirens Curse and Top Thrill 2 most likely being back open. I'M also looking forward to Alpenfury at Canada's Wonderland.
So excited for this coaster it will look awesome on that Midway and it will look awesome in the skyline its going to be the 7th tallest coaster in the park. Ugh can't wait
I have a theory for the height difference between Energylandia’s Vekoma Tilt Coaster and Cedar Point’s Siren’s Curse: I suspect that Energylandia measured the height of the lift from the ground up to the flat dead end track before this section of track actually tilts. I suspect that Cedar Point measured the height of the lift from the ground and then they included the height of the tilt track section when it was tilted into the verified position. To me this makes sense to explain the height differences between Energylandia’s stats and Cedar Point’s stats for the same exact coaster.
I thought the same until I read the press release which states: "you ascend an old 160-foot-tall Lake Erie shipping crane tower...The creaking platform holding your train will slowly tilt into a 90-degree vertical position." I don't think they would have written it up that way. I did some digging and found some of the documentation for the Energylandia ride. All the specifications state "not less than". My thinking was Vekoma may have worked up the math and figured that in order for them to deliver the "not less than 85 km/h" speed requirement they needed to up the initial drop to over 48m (160ft). Just a thought, though.
Im so excited for cedar point next year, i have gold pass for next season as a gift and am also thinking of spurging on a year long fast pass too, i live in michigan so i dont get to go TOO OFTEN, buuuuut if i go a few times next year and stay a few days each time id say itd be worth it with the two new rides next year im counting top thrill 2 as a new ride because it was only open 6 dang days lol ALSO my only eyebrow raiser for sirens curse is why cant they repaint the track to something a little more appropriate to the name? Ryan the ride mechanic, made a great video on his thoughts about Kingda Ka closing, I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. But I personally dont think Kingda Ka is going anywhere yet. It also makes me wonder the future of other accerlator intamin coasters, like Xcelerator at Knotts Berry Farm, Storm Runner at Hershey Park.
We haven’t ridden that yet but hopefully that is making for a less miserable experience. But from what we understand it’s bad no matter the restraints are.
My take on KingDa Ka. We will not hear anything about the coaster officially until TT2 is up, running and reliable. If they close it I would imagine they will re imagine it as well. That being said if what it takes to get TT2 up and running ends up being a full redo of track, they might just say screw it and tear it all down. I def think if they do close it, they will wait to see what a finished and running TT2 looks like on paper before they decide what they do with KA.
I’m excited for a modern Vekoma thrill coaster finally coming to the US. We’ve seen several family new age but not any thrill. Well the super boomerang but it’s not open yet. The ride mechanic has a convincing video over Kingda not actually closing. He seems to believe it’s just another rumor. Gives his reasons as usual.
I think cedar point got a great deal on sirens curse because it was just collecting dust in Mexico because the city in Mexico said not to chop down any more trees. It will also soften the blow of tt2s current status.
I really think they are going to look at what happens with TT2 and seeing how it works before finally making a decision on Ka. Right now, dragster is the guinea pig. Zamperla underestimated their train design and what would the heartline changes could do to the track. Now they have to eat the trains and reprofile parts of TT2. It's going to come down to money, what did cedar fair pay for TT2 reimagined and how much did it cost overall after zamperla fixes it. Then they have a true idea of the total cost. If TT2 is successful next season, then they have to look if it's a viable option to do to Ka. If the overall cost of TT2is too outrageous and more than a new replacement then Kingda Kas fate is sealed.
@@BeachcliffStudios exactly. Zamperla is eating this added cost I'm sure. But now they hopefully know what goes into a strata. And every bit of engineering they learned from TT2 will increase the cost on the next one they attempt. They know better now. They are probably doing all this work on TT2 on their dime, and then it still has to be damn near perfect. It's basically turned into a zamperla R&D project at this point. What might work out into an advantage though for six flags entertainment Corp, because in the end fixing TT2 for free doesn't do anything for lost revenue being recovered. Zamperla not only has to make TT2 right, they also have to make it right monetarily. Which could mean a discounted price to update Ka or discounts on other products etc.

Thanks Jesse and Milo for doing this video lots of information as you guys mentioned Kingda could go either way with the high maintenance costs it would make sense to shut this ride down and replace it have a great day guys
On the side of Kingda Ka sticking around, I'd say a million in maintenance each year is not that big of a deal. These rides cost 25 million to install way back when. Which means the yearly finance costs of a new ride are one million easily. Kingda Ka is paid off and it attracts visitors. Now even more so that TT2 doesn't have the wicked hydraulic launch anymore. The park need not be in a rush to get rid of it just yet. They can wait to see how the TT2 rework pans out. I hope it sticks around. I haven't ridden it yet but losing TTD was bad enough!
Here's my thoughts on ka....isn't there a certain park that has a large plot of land that has been vacant since 2019...I think it would be great replacement...refurb it...idk.just guessing..Chad Showalter may want it...
the pulsing in the launch system is definitely noticeable. The only thing i did not like about Ka, is what i used to dislike about Maverick and that is a thigh... really pain in get in my butt on the ride as a result of the non comfort collars i believe. Otherwise it's a powerful ride
